Let's be honest, how many governments would be happy with an organization technically outside their chain of command/control that has advanced weaponry stolen from an Alien race, and answers only to a shadow council. They'll try to bring XCOM under their heel or disband them once the danger has past.

If we were going to insert realism into it XCOM would be a vast, anti-alien international alliance and not some small group that can be ruined by a nation idiotically cutting funding. Also every nation would be either trying to get as much alien tech to study secretly or (depending on power) being nice with whatever nation is powerful enough to get the tech. But this is video game logic. Here even if the enemy had a ship powerful enough to devastate a fleet your response is to decide that there's no threat.

Well, in the case of the ME cross that was proposed earlier, I could perfectly see XCom as being the precursor of/replacing the System Alliance.

Right so I was replaying StarCraft 2 today and then later was reading through prototype fanfiction and yaaaaa, the idea just wouldn't shake out of my head.

Now I have three rather distinctive ideas.

One is a strait crossover where Alex Mercer has lived the centuries up to The Star Craft Storyline and while I know someone else has tried that -while not horrible- it was bad. It was pretty much wanking off to prototype from the get-go.

2nd, fusion-cross: Basic prototype story set IN the Kaprulu sector, Gentek isn't just researching biological warfare applications, its also in one of the lead researchers in Zerg biochemistry. What they inadvertently release on the PLANET (not just a city) leads to a global cleansing of the planet (read: nuked to hell) however Greene and her hivemind didn't go completely unnoticed. Que up the Queen bitch of blades herself finding a most curios specimen (who incidentally ate a zergling to get his biomass back). To keep the zerg from becoming brokenly OP lets say that infecting any normally mindless Zerg with blacklight has the horrific side effect of creating a free willed killing machine with no one who can control it. Still Alex is looking to wipe the dominion out just as much as Kerrigan for killing his sister. Its practically a match made in hell.

3rd: have something like the Prototype 2 storyline take place in the star craft setting only for the big twist have RAYNOR get infected instead of that idiotic Heller. That one might be the most viable I can almost see the tentacle foreplay with Kerrigan.

ODST; Orbital Drop Shock Troopers

"Feat first into hell" that's their motto and considering how they get into combat without any real support you have to be one badass motherfucker and when you look at any of the ODST's they are damn good.

Maybe its just my fanciful imagination or more likely its the "creative imagination" of the creatores of the ODST game but the Rookie, the strong silent, refuses to remove his helmit and seems to have the luck of the devil himself, also the time-line of events that happen in the HALO universe makes it seem that maybe just maybe the Rookie got his luck from his genetic donor.

Ya, I'm implying the Rookie is in fact the only cloned human from the spartan project to have survived and maybe even in a long shot thrived where all other succumbed to sickness and genetic defects. The Rookie, clone of Spartan 117 John, 2nd luckiest son-of-a-bitch in the universe. Possible? Well I ask, why the hell not?

thoughts?

With Lucasarts now a Disney group, I suggest a KH/Star Wars idea.

The gist is an easy one: Anakin Skywalker, Keyblade wielder.

Right so I'm lovin' Dishonored and really the best part about the game is the magic.

So what about our silent protagonist, Corvo? What other games could we toss him into or fuse together.

First thought of course was Skyrim and this came about from the thought of just how FUN it would be to play with Corvo's magic in TES, hell I'd love to find a mod that did that! There are a number of way to do this really, either a strait crossover with Corvo being the main character or another Dragonborn who received the gifts of Sithis or something like that.

Hell maybe the character IS a mortal incarnation of Sithis, just food for thought.

Or could you imagine how other games would play out with Corvo and his powers replacing the other standard "silent protagonists" or world settings of other popular games?

Legend of Zelda: fantasy-steampunk setting, Zelda a young teenage girl (tomboy?) is forced to escape from General Gannondorf when he userps the throne blaming it on the shieka bodyguard and their "foul magics". Impa (or another else really) as a final act of desperation before she/he dies forces the Orphan Link to help the princess to escape. Which he does before being captured himself and dragged away to prison accused of treason! While there waiting to be executed a young sprite/fairy comes to him to help him understand his strange new gifts and to help him escape...

Thief is what comes to mind first. There's also Hexen, where the main character's name was, incidentally, Corvus.

Other Dishonored crossover/fusion ideas at work in my mind...

Harry Potter: Want to give a new spin on the "thrown into Azkaban" premiss? I do. Harry as usual through corrupt governing body (that at least never gets old) has his ass thrown into Jail never to be heard of again, the problem? Voldemort still hasn't been defeated or another greater threat has surfaced in the previous dark lord's demise. In any case they are the real responsible party so when Harry is given power just like Corvo's. Harry now knows beyond a shadow of a doubt that no one else can correct the problem, oh sure his friends may want to help but really after so long with the dementors who's to say he's entirely rational anymore or maybe he's right and he really can't trust everyone he thought he could or hell, maybe one of his friends was tricked into betraying him. Whatever the case may be Harry's out for revenge and to settle the matter once and for all.

Well you've just implied that 'luck' is a genetic trait so that would be the kind of thing worth exploring in classic sci-fi. So you could decide to follow the life of the rookie, see how he makes it through the war with his 'luck' and/or you could explore the nature of his 'luck' power in the context of classic sci-fi. I mean last I checked it was being implied that Spartans and AI were not just random chance so this 'Luck' thing might not be either.

With Lucasarts now a Disney group, I suggest a KH/Star Wars idea.

The gist is an easy one: Anakin Skywalker, Keyblade wielder.
With Disney taking over we now have full rights to derail the standard clone wars time line. Since Maul and Oppress are in need of an army, let's give them the 'Heartless' which opens up a third 'front' in the war. Palpatine's pissed because this screws up his timetable, but he's trying to make the best of it.

Sora and Riku show up, and they influence events, saving Ashoka from her original fate and giving Skywalker an example of how the 'Darkness' can lie.

I still support Ashoka becoming the Keyblade master if only so she and Riku can become a battle couple like Sora and Kairi.

So what about our silent protagonist, Corvo? What other games could we toss him into or fuse together.
Mark of the Ninja might have some interesting twists if those tattoos are actual links to the outsider.

Other things that might work:

Bioshock, Dragon Age Series, Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Assassins Creed series, Wheel of Time etc.

Hmm... with this I'm curious as to how Riku would react to Palpatine, my guess is that he would have flashbacks to being possessed by Ansem and just immediately decide Palpatine was bad news and something needed to be done about him. Also how would the jedi deal with the Heartless, after all while the force is strong can it actually free hearts from the darkness because that is the only way to destroy a heartless, which means that the Jedi could be over run by the heartless.

Edit: Also could the three way war become a 4 way war after all inorder to control the heartless you need a strong heart and while Palpatine, Savage Oppress, and Maul might be able to control them for a time the Heartless are going to turn on them in the end.

Yesterday a little idea for a Prototype crossover got in my head. I wrote a little snippet that I posted over SB, but I wanted to post it also here.

------------------

Manhatan was being destroyed by a battle of epic proportions, by a fight between two being that defied several physical laws. Again. Not even two momths after the outbreak.

It had to be some kind of record.

The two being fought each other relentlessly, demolishing newly reconstructed buildings in the surroundings. They didn't stop or recede, the streets broke under them and everything shook by the force of their strikes. Violent, destructive, unstoppable, apocaliphtic, legendary... those were the adjectives that would pass by the mind of anyone who could see it and tried to describe what they saw.

"Absolutely unnatural." Was usually for what they settled.

It was probbaly the one that fittest the most, for it seemed straight out of a videogame or from the stories in creepy corners of the internet. A battle of adaptation, mocking the natural way of the world, a battle of weaponized evolution, the fighters changing and shifting in the blink of an eye. A confrontation in which humans seemed to have no place.

A battle of Gods.

In the middle of the destruction and the chaos, surrounded by the forces of two of the most well hidden organizations of the world, a gargantuan reptile-thing and an anthropomorphic viral mass roared and charged against each other, yet again.

And no one was stupid ehough to stand in their way.

-------------------------------------------

But how things got like that? That's a good question.

--------------------------------

Blackwatch considered that it was good luck that no one else in the S.S Reagan had been infected by the medical error and the subsecuent infected loose in the command room.

But luck is a fickle thing.

It had been bad luck that one of the Blackwatch commanders had been infected and not discovered. It had been good luck that after losing himself the infection it had been killed with no extra deaths.

Oh, yes, the infected had accidentally smashed some buttons and send some of the better torpedos they had to the middle of the Atlantic Ocean before being tore open by bullets of other Blackwatch members. But a quick revision of the trayectory revealed a path free of obstale, so they would eventually explode against the oceanic floor or by the preassure.

Good luck indeed. Things were tense enough with ZEUS still alive and kicking, thought the new politic of ignoring each other until the infection was truly gone had managed to stop the constant and wide bleeding of personel and resources that was figthing the viral abomination. If they had hit Manhatan the possibility of ZEUS going actively after them, again, was pretty huge.

Fortunately they knew that officialy there was nothing in the torpedos way.

-----------------------------

Standing in the top of an building, the Monster of Manhatan looked at the city in the dawn.

Before his eyes the city was recovering. After their failed attemp to glass his along with the city, his own infiltration on the ship to steal the nuke, and showing them that not even the burning hell unleased by the nuclear weapon could kill Alex Mercer, Blackwatch seemed to understand, finally, that he didn't want to kill everything and burn New York to ashes. They now seemed to stop trying to find of fight him, and just centered themselves in erradicating redlight from the island as fast and effectively they could.

Even if he had memories telling him that it was the normal, seeing Blackwatch opperate in a efficient and clean way had surprised him. He had even changed into one of the soldiers he had consumed at times, to help them with hives and such. He didn't like Blackwatch, but for once they were just helping.

Also he had more importat things to care about.

Like sister, his uncouncious-for-two-months sister.

After he had remade himself from the mass that survived the explosion (lets just say that Manhatan's stray dogs and cats had decreased in number, suddenly) Alex had gone to Ragland inmediatly.

But there have been no changes, the only sure thing was that Dana was not infected and Ragland had no idea of what Greene had done to his sister. At first he had lashed out, actively searching infectes and Blackwatch alike and destroying them, in a concious effort to reafirm his strenght.

He was bioengineered perfection, yet he felt useless when all his might couldn't defeat the only enemy he cared to destroy, whatever was hurting his sister.

Or he felt that way for a time.

Right now, waiting for his sister to walk out of the hospital, he felt invincible.

Just a month ago, in a frustrating conversation with Ragland, the doctor had told him in rather plain terms that if Alex hadn't eaten every scientific involved with Redlight, there could be someone who knew what was happening to Dana, or at least give new information.

At first he wished to murder the doctor for even insinuating that he was responsible for his sister not waking up. Then he stopped, and laughed.

Ragland later said that it was the creepiest thing he had ever seen.

The solution to the problem was so easy that, indeed, Alex could do nothing but to blame himself for not reaching it before. He then sat in Raglands office and asked him for several pens, and started writting the most complete book about the effects that the infection could cause without actually 'infecting'. Having the knowledge of a small army of specialist in his mass made it too easy. Not having realized this before made Mercer felt a bit stupid.

And now Dana was checking out of the hospital.

'There is nothing on the world capable of ruining this day'

----------------------------

The whole observation chamber shook and the doctors had to grab the table to not fall.

"The structural integrity of the contaiment chamber is bellow 50% percent! We need to stop the termination attempt! Dr. Sanders start depresurizing the chamber and pumping the acid in!" He yelled at his fellow coworker while he started to manipulate the machinary which controled the flow of the water and thus, the pressure, of the whole ocean over them.

"On it! But I don't think that it can do anything, I mean. He has kilometres of ocean over itself, the preassure has kept it inmovilized for three days already. I doubt it could..." He stopped talking as the relative simple process he had to perform was imposible. " I... I can't."

"Do it before the walls don't resist the internal preassure anymore!" He pushed Sanders out of the way and after pushing some buttons he stopped at what some of the cameras were showing him. "It has obstructed our depressuring mechanism with its tail! How!? There should be seven grates tailored specially for the purposse of not letting this happen!"

"I... may have deactivated them..." Sanders whispered at his side, scared shitless. "They made the process slower... I thought it would be better this way...!" He looked at the principal video feed and started to panic. "It couldn't move before! You saw it! I was supposed to be congratuled for optimicing the process!!!. I never...!"

Blocking Sander's useless excuses, he tried to manipulate the multiple security meassures of the chamber, mostly damaged by the previous explosions and cursed his bad luck.

Two torpedos coming from god knows where hitting the facilities as they were testing the possible destruction of the item with a combination of pressure, seawater and another item too much classified for him to know about, was so much of a improvability that it hadn't even taken into account for the security protocols. And now he discovered that his coworker was either stupid or suicide. Also said coworker didn't seem to know when to shup up.

Yeah, he was being so lucky today.

"... I'm no responsible for this! I didn't kn...!" Dr. Sanders continued rambling until he was punched by the other doctor, who was still trying to contain the thing.

"SHUT UP!!! You knew with which item are we dealing with! It always adapts!!! Always!!! Why do you think that it is still there after so many years trying to destroy it!? Because it always adapts!!! It had adapted to high pressure!! And now...!!!"

His rant was cut off by the sound of wall breaking and the video feed confirmed his suspicions as the walls of the chamber exploded outwards. Then it moved its legs for first time in days, and looked at the cameras directly.

It was smilling.

Then it devoured the camera. What wouldn't be so bad if it hadn't been that the gps signal marked that it was leaving the place.

Dr. Avon after having tryed to stop it from happening by all the means available to him felt like joining Sanders in crying. Taking out his communications device he tuned it to the emergency frequency and talked as calmly as he could.

"... has breached containment. I repeat the item SCP-682 had breached containment. Alert to all the mobile task forces, we have got a keter on the loose."

Now he could only pray that it didn't went to anywhere inhabitated, and maybe, just maybe, the O5 would have mercy on him.

----------------------------

The SCP Foundation is meant to be crossed with everything.

Random crack idea: ever wonder what the pokemon version of the origin of species must be like? I mean, pokemon evolve, you can see it happen, so what happens if someone tried to work that out backward, and suggested all current pokemon, and other animals, evolved from more primitive pokemon that fought enough to change into other forms.

After all, we know there are pokemon fossils, which suggests they have been around a very long time, but we also know there is a creator god, because you can capture him (blasphemy?).

Blasphemy with some toast and sausage.

what if they attempted to genetically backwards engineer some of those previous species and then true to form stuff started to get out of hand, a new pokemon game could revolve around three large island/continents and a whole new line of pokemon, much harsher in look, instead of all these cute and cuddly things, semi feral backwards evolved version of pokemon, you might see some hints of what their line will eventually lead to but only hints, these are entirely new and different pokemon, do they evolve more or do they evolve less on average?

So Farcry 3, AWESOME game and Jason Brody has become one of my top favorite fictional Bad-Ass Normal characters ever, he's a one man army, a true Warrior who never looses sight of the ultimate objective (unless you go with the Citra ending), he's not fit for modern society any longer, he knows it. So our favorite Bad-Ass end up wandering from one end of the earth to the other, from one hot-spot to another, nothing can kill him but most importantly no place quite feels like a home.

His wandering eventually leads him to another jungle but not one he's familiar with, the urban jungle of Roanapur is a harsh and unforgiving wilderness filled to the brim with phycho's from all walks of life. To Jason though, its home. The job as a bouncer/bartender at the Yellow Flag is just icing on the cake.

Course, turns out Hoyt had a sibling and when he learns about who's working at the yellow flag...

Well all Revy wants to know is the fuck blew up her favorite bar?!

Far Cry 3 & Black Lagoon

it works but I find myself unable to write it seeing as I'm not nearly as talented as I'd like to be, the idea I think needs work and I'd be much appreciated if this was adopted or someone helped me to expand on this idea.

A lot of people think that Zubats evolved from Aerodactyl, based on the shape of their wings.

And the T-rex became a chicken, that's not anywhere enough proof to make that call never mind anime logic (they both have red hair thus they MUST be related somehow!)

Has anyone actually written a skyrim fic based on how pc gamers tend to play the game? I mean, where the NPCs acknowledge, or think nothing of the players mods and choices?

I mean, if this is a pc based fic, you could have a dragonborn who is some drop dead sexy, flawless skinned bombshell, wearing (at first) some more showly versions of the canon sets before eventually 'crafting' some amazingly scantly clad wares (based off popular armor/clothing/etc mods).

They also start to wonder why the dragonborn can literally do anything. Alchemy, smithing, all manner of combat arms, spell casting, etc. On top of that, no matter what pressing matter is at hand, she always seems to find the time for a ton of random side adventures, treasure hunting, etc, and to peoples amazement, it seems main events just sort of wait for her to get to them.

Not really. The founding nations merely managed to get enough evidence to shut down the arms dealers for good.

Kingdom Hearts plot bunny: Aqua escapes the RoD early.

There are at least four places in the timeline where Aqua could escape the Realm of Darkness: there's the very end of KHII when Sora and Riku are chilling out on the Dark Margin before Kairi calls them home, there's once or twice during KHII when Sora and the crew are in the RoD for brief periods, there's the end of KH1 when the Door to Darkness is open, and there's the beginning of Chain of Memories when Riku finds his way into the basement of Castle Oblivion.

It would be beyond contrived for Aqua to just happen to be in the right place at the right time for most of these events, however it's not terribly unbelievable that she could be drawn to Kingdom Hearts and then be present when Mickey and Riku close the Door to Darkness. Aqua being Aqua would probably stay with Mickey and Riku rather than abandon them and return to the Realm of Light; conveniently, this puts her in position to be with Riku when he shows up in Castle Oblivion.

Right away you have a powder keg of conflict and derailing of the plot:

1) Aqua, who has a heart so pure she could almost be a Princess of Heart, is now paired up with a kid who's recovering from darkness corruption. Comparisons to Terra are as inevitable as Aqua's attempts to rehabilitate Riku while he's in the middle of trying to find his own answers, particularly regarding the road to dawn. Aqua's reaction to darkness not being evil under some circumstances promises to be an excellent source of conflict for both her and Riku.

2) Aqua is still in possession of Eraqus's keyblade, which gives her root access to Castle Oblivion's defenses and promises mayhem for the pack of squatters who moved in while she was out and about. It's entirely possible that Aqua and Riku could skip the trip up from the basement entirely and meet Sora at the front door.

3) Ven is still sleeping in Castle Oblivion's innermost sanctuary and Sora is nearer to him than he's ever been at this point. Ven's heart may not be ready to leave Sora's body yet but the possible consequences of Sora becoming aware of Ven's heart need to be taken into account.

4) Both the Organization and DiZ's plans to manipulate Sora go down the drain if Riku and Aqua kick them out of Castle Oblivion. Even if they don't and CoM happens more or less as it originally did, Aqua is unlikely to trust DiZ after being so thoroughly manipulated by Xehanort and may affect the events of 358/2 Days in any number of ways.

5) Finally, if Aqua and Riku have to trek through the lower floors for one reason or another DiZ may give her a set of world cards of her own, giving Riku an opportunity to see things from her perspective a little when they meet Memory Terra/Ven/Eraqus/Xehanort/etc.

Regarding 2, not possible. Riku's a few floors behind Sora anyway, doesn't arrive in the Castle until Sora's on his third memory. They probably could get to him before NaminÚ's memory manipulation gets too far, but more likely NaminÚ would just be ordered to down both Riku and Aqua. Since she hasn't yet had time to let her guilt get to her, she does and the Organization has Aqua. -_-

Hell, Marluxia might not even realize Aqua's significance and hand her over to Xehanort as a sign of good will. Minus heart/memories of course.

I sincerely doubt it's as easy as *scribble scribble* "You're a turnip now." Namine needed most of the game to completely mind-whammy Sora and if Aqua can disable the card system she and Riku will tear through everything in their paths long before she can do major damage to either of them, never mind how that would affect Sora's progress and the Organization's plans for him.

Namine has the power to manipulate the memories of Sora and those close to him.

Aqua really met Sora once in BBS, if I recall correctly. Would Namine even be able to mess with Aqua?

Sora-->Ven-->Aqua.

Maybe a bit of a stretch, but certainly justifiable.

I sincerely doubt it's as easy as *scribble scribble* "You're a turnip now."
Riku Replica man. NaminÚ can break memories with no problem, but making fake ones, or god forbid, fixing old ones is what takes time.
