This is probably a horrid idea. And at best crack.
And I have to put it to paper to get it out of my head.
Bioshock Infinite with Booker replaced by Austin Powers. And Comstock replaced by Doctor Evil.
Yes, I fully expect to be called out on how horrible an idea it is.

Final Fantasy Seven.

Remember the world map? The closest town to Nibelheim is Cosmo Canyon.

Okay. So Cloud and Zack escape the lab and limp away; and they stumble across Cosmo Canyon, where the sagacious Bugenhagen lives.

What happens then?

Well, nothing until Cloud shows up there again and Grandpa knows exactly who he is (it's not like he knows how to cure mako poisoning that I can remember). Or maybe not even that considering there were other people who knew who Cloud was and simultaneously forgot five minutes after Zack died. And also gained entirely different personalities. Or just stopped existing.

Can you guys help me with one of my Pokémon fics?

I'm writing a SI fic about me being a shitty Pokémon trainer, but I am unsure on how to start it.
I'm doing an AR world with all regions thrown together into one huge continent enslaved by the cliché evil capital and I have to go on a journey to beat all the gyms and then the elites and finally the champions in order for the capital to gather some unknown data about Pokémons, which is their condition of releasing me from the duty.

But I am on the fence on starting the fic either on the scene with me getting the assigned Pokémons ((Mawile, Bagon, Tynamo, Slakoth, Stunky and Numel), can't catch any more due to an assigned rank)) or the scene of me being on the way to the first gym, having already been given the Pokémon and revealing them one at a time during the gym battle against Brock.

I am also planning to travel with 3 NPCs but I am unsure what to call one of them. The first is a Hex Maniac going by the nickname "Hex", the other is a female Ace trainer going by the nickname "Ace" but I want the last one to be a Sky trainer but the only nickname that I can consider is "Sora" but that sounds so weird when placed next to "Ace" or "Hex".

Or should I go with "Sora" for the Sky trainer and pick something else for the Hex Maniac and the Ace trainer?

A Zelda story gone wrong. Things happened, Ganon(dorf) attacked, the Princess was captured, the Hero saved the day. And if the story had been just the story of the reincarnations of the Demon's hate, the Goddess, and the Chosen Hero, it would never have gone the way it did. But it was also the story of the bearers of the Tri-Force.

Theoretically, they might have a Rock-Paper-Scissors relationship. Power overwhelms Wisdom, Wisdom manipulates Courage, Courage topples Power. But they also have flaws. Power is prone to megalomania; Wisdom, totalitarianism and paranoia; Courage, recklessness and acting without thought. Power's flaws arose and were dealt with. Then Wisdom's came to light.

In the process of his takeover, Ganondorf had killed the king. Not an unusual act. Of course, this devastated the Princess, but she was able to deal with it, with the reliable Hero and her beloved nursemaid. But others within Hyrule saw an opportunity, a weak young girl ripe for manipulation. All they had to do was isolate her, and then swoop in. They didn't realize what a mistake they had made, as they were informed that the Princess's nursemaid had been killed.

With her dead, and signs pointing to someone of substantial rank and power in Hyrule, Zelda began to see the flaws in her kingdom. And more than that, she began to consider her situation, and those around her. And, as one is prone to do when left alone for a time, she thought, and thought deeper, and with the Wisdom she inherited from her predecessors and the distrust born from a murder, she imagined it all. She saw how everyone around, all those with any power, could betray her for their own personal gain, and she saw how much better off the kingdom would be if she simply had direct control. She was certain: all those within Hyrule's court were just looking for the right opportunity to betray her and seize power, so she should get rid of them and take absolute control for herself. It was for the best, really.

But what of the Hero? That was a different matter entirely. The Hero, a young man of the people, who came to her aid simply because he was asked, who fought unbelievable monsters to save her kingdom and asked no further reward, who stood between her and the King of Evil without fear or doubt. Whether it was based on his actions, or some lingering thought of her predecessors, there was one thing Zelda was certain of: Link, the Hero, would not betray her. That was an absolute truth, and in her mind, that meant he was the only one left in the world that she could rely on.

As for Link, he had largely returned to a normal life, still keeping in contact with Zelda according to her wishes. The Master Sword was returned to its place, though the other weapons he had acquired remained for battling the monsters that still occupied the countryside. And when the time came for Zelda to ask him for something, like her, regardless of whether it was entirely his will or something the other Heroes left behind, there was a simple belief: he would never have reason to refuse her, because if it's Zelda, then whatever she asks, she is not wrong. Holding onto that idealistic belief, when she reaches out to him, telling him the royal court is full of enemies, of course he will help her purge them.

And for a time, that was the way things went. The Princess, maddened by grief and paranoia and Wisdom not suited for one in her position, lashing out at all those around her she perceives as a threat. The Hero, believing in the Princess he saved, standing at her side as the sword to strike down those who threaten Hyrule, so he thinks. In some ways, perhaps Ganondorf would have been preferable.

Until something happens. Until Zelda does something, gives an order, and Link witnesses it and can't accept it. Finally, she has gone too far. No matter how he loves her, he just...can't continue like this. And he makes his resolve: he will stop her. Put and end to the tyranny and bring back the shining, radiant Princess he had first admired and adored.

Zelda...does not take it well. The idea that she might be in the wrong, or that Link was genuinely against what she was doing, couldn't even enter her mind. It must only be someone conspiring to hurt her, someone trying to take her beloved Hero away from her. He must be under some spell or curse or manipulation. She'll have him captured, and brought back to the castle, where she can restrain him and he'll be safe from her enemies, until she can break the magic on him so he'll be back to how he should be, serving and protecting and LOVING her, because he's the only one who won't try to betray her.

And after being chased, after relentless pursuit, Link finds himself cornered before the Master Sword, without a weapon in hand, with his pursuers much too close to pull something from his bag, certain they've finally captured their sovereign's hero. He can't even use the Sword next to him, they're certain. After all, it's the Sword of Evil's Bane, that can only be drawn by the pure of heart to strike down those who threaten Hyrule, right? Certainly, after the things he's done, the Hero cannot be pure of heart, and certainly the Princess cannot be considered an enemy of her own kingdom. However, there is another truth, lost to the mists of time: before "the Sword of Evil's Bane," before "wielded only by the pure of heart," before any of the other legends, it still was not just a sword. And even all these many years and centuries later, even with her original purpose fulfilled, even in the depths of her slumber, Fi will not deny her master.

So, with Master Sword in hand, the Hero must set out to stop the Princess, to save the woman he loves from the depths of madness that have consumed her, even as she is prepared to burn the world to destroy the enemies only she can see threatening her and her beloved.

Who's played Final Fantasy Tactics?

I had the PS version, and I played it through a couple times. I still don't fully understand the story, because it was mostly Ramza bumbling into interlocking conspiracies; plus I had the old, somewhat crummy translation. So I mostly understood what was going on, but if you asked me to summarize it, I'm pretty sure I'd leave sub-plots out or get a few threads wrong.

But the gameplay was a lot of fun. The problem was that, compared to the characterization of all the named party members, the way the party fought was a little more... maybe not ruthless exactly, but I used a lot of psy-ops. I pulled one of those goofs where you save before a mandatory battle you're not ready for, so I had to restart, and I played through the game twice; so I converged on a basic strategy I used frequently.

See, my favorite class was the Mediator. Once I unlocked it, I basically stopped buying equipment; I just turned random doods to my team, stripped them naked, and cast them out into the wilderness. It was like the Thief's steal command, but tremendously more efficient on most enemies. Plus, their command to adjust Brave/Faith would be like 20% permanent, so it wasn't hard to stoke Ramza up to a super-high Brave.

Once I got Mediator basically mastered (or rather, once I got all the Talk commands I used), that one became my primary caster that I raised to a calculator.

So there it was: Ramza was the leader, but I used him as a very orthodox melee attacker. He was interesting only because he was haxxed out from stacking abilities; once his stats were built, he basically just punched people out, over and over again.

Meanwhile, one of those random support characters always had a strongly distinct playstyle, that was completely different than the straight-forward and heroic way that all the main characters fought; someone kind of sleazy, who was helping out by cheating and manipulating people. Who whispered in Ramza's ear to make him a better berserker.... But who still stood beside Ramza all the way to the end, who talked their own Faith up to 100 simply because it made their magic deadlier, and who helped cut down Saint Ajora. (spoilers, I guess?)

I always wanted to write a fanfic about that guy, giving the story from his perspective, as the cunning and manipulative one.

Maybe I'd roll that into Rad / Ladd as a character, the blank-slate Squire who worked with Ramza under Gafgarion. Usually I just used him to run those Job-errand things with Alicia and Lavian; it felt wrong (from a story-telling perspective) to kick them out, but I don't think I ever actually used them seriously.

How about a non-terrible version of this?

After the "Overlord Sicily" end, Laharl wonders the Netherworld in a daze for a few weeks. Eventually he recomposes himself enough to notice how the Netherworld has reacted to their new Angelic Overlord even his own Vassals.

So he grits his teeth, and seethes for a bit, because as powerful as he is, not even he can fight Sicily, Etna, Flonne and all the other Vassals. So, he tries to figure out why people think both Sicily and his Old Man were such great Overlords only to come up blank.

So, he travels the various other Netherworlds, in the hopes of beating down strong warriors to make his New Vassals, and to find the secret to becoming A TRUE Overlord.

And get the power to take back his Throne. Naturally.

Of course, while he's off on his "Netherworld Roadtrip", Grosso and the Krichevskoy group are actively trying to place a more "suitable" Overlord on the Throne, whilst the rest of D2's plot carries on, as Xenolith continues to kidnap angels to stabilize the Netherworld.

I need help with a Mega Man Zero fic, specficially terms and definitions. What is the term for a file can be used for any operating system? And also any terms that can describe how an AI can function, for better or for worse.

Well, the first is probably 'platform-independent' files/programs etc.
The second is a harder question to answer. From what I know, I'd suggest looking into the Turing test, neural networks, and the like. The wikipedia page is your best bet for starting off there.

I'm having it that because of a virus, Zero's systems have reverted back to a previous OS. Now that I know where to look, I can now act like I kow what I'm talking about. thanks!

A binary file, maybe?

EDIT: No, that's not quite correct

I thought I'd put up an idea I thought of recently.

I know at the end of Silent Hill 3, Heather vomits that 'God' she was about to birth right before the final boss. But, and since it is Silent Hill and I pretty sure that even now there are pieces of its lore that we either don't understand correctly or are missing(after all, if 'God' is dead, why does Silent Hill continue to be as it was), what if that was merely the negative embodiment of that 'God'? And Heather would still be the Mother of 'God'?

I'm getting off point. My idea: Silent Hill/F.E.A.R. crossover

I see 'God', raised as a mortal and his psyche burdened with the darkness of Silent Hill for all of his/her life, walking down a sidewalk before stopping and looking across the street. On the other side is Alma Wade, flickering between her forms. They simply stand there looking at one another, as the darkness behind them deepens and their monsters begin to partially manifest. Above them each, a streetlight begins to flicker out of sequence of the other. The streetlights flicker off for a second, before coming back on and both are gone.

Probably only good for a one-shot, but it's an idea.

For some reason, I want to see a Bloodborne fic done in the style of Sesame street, complete with the beasts replacing the muppet characters.

In Super Mario RPG, the secret boss is called Culex.

IDEA: What if the secret boss was really a Culexus? Potential nightmare fuel ensues.

Since Mario doesn't have psychic powers I wouldn't think he'd have too much trouble.

Edit.
Oh, didn't realize that assassins are actually worth something in 40k now.

Well the cast has magic powers or whatever. Assumedly they wouldn't work against a Culexus.

Even without the magic powers, Mario is still a guy strong enough to catch a giant turtle-dragon thing by the tail and throw it stupidly long distances. He's downright stupidly strong and agile.

A fusion of a concept from the Shadow Campaign novels into Warhammer 40K.

The Black Priests of the Sworn Church have an interesting way of dealing with demons. Whenever they discover the true name of a demon, they immediately bind it into a 'volunteer' (usually a convicted criminal), and then lock the demonhost into a warded cell, where it is sealed away for the rest of the host's life, which they try to make as long as possible (not for moral reasons, just the fact that the longer they live, the less frequently they need to find a replacement host). They figure that every demon they lock in the dungeons is one that cannot go out into the world, and thus the people are kept safe from demonic influence.

Does this sound like a plan a radical Inquisitor from the Ordo Malleus might come up with? If so, how long until he finds the potential flaws in the plan that the Pontifex ran into the hard way: 1 - what happens if the jailer of the demons gets tempted to use some of the power his prisoners represent for his own ends, and 2 - if a mistake is made in the handling of one of the nastier prisoners, you can end up in BIG trouble.

Kind of a random stupid-ish idea I came up with in another chat.

Fallout: The Simpsons

Springfield's nuclear plant blows, spewing radiation all over. A hundred years later, a vault-dweller leaves his vault and goes across the Springfield wastes.

Along the way, one of the enemies, perhaps the final boss, is a ghoul who has retained his intelligent and is INCREDIBLY strong, capable of snapping steel beams in half...a ghoul Bart who has become smarter over the ages, and considers Springfield his fiefdom.

It could work as a mod, but a mod would be a lot longer to create than for somebody to write a fanfiction!
