In the Idea Megathread there was talk of an awesome Spike. So I give you Courage.
Loyalty; Generosity; Laughter; Honesty; Kindness; Magic;

These are the pillars upon which Equestrian society stands. Upon these principles, Harmony is maintained, and civilization flourishes.

But there are other magics in this world. Intelligent life requires three things:

Wisdom, to decide upon an action.

Courage, to go through with the action.

Power, to carry out the action.

An individual with Wisdom, Courage, and Power... can change the world.

Evil unlike any Equestria has ever seen has come to the Everfree, and through proximity, Ponyville. The Mane 6 must attempt to overcome the darkness they are faced with; it will not be easy.

But they will not face such evil alone.

The Hero has come.

A Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess and MLP crossover.

NOTE that there is no HUMAN tag. That is intentional.
While Spike isn't quite a badass yet, Wolf Link has chosen him as his companion, and they are making their way through a dungeon in the latest chapter. Yeah, spoiler there.

It's a great read. Highly recommended.

What, this one?

I enjoyed it, I laughed.
Thank you. Was there anything about it that you thought I could improve upon?
Hmm... You don't really have much you can improve upon within the scope of what you wrote. It's quite flavourful with the descriptions, and I'm not simply referring to the cake. You made Luna a prankster instead of a sullen shut-in, which was a very nice change-up compared to most authors. I'd noticed a lot of call for a second chapter but that's a pretty mixed bag, your decision to leave it a one-shot is likely for the best.

You're literate and it was funny, arguably the best praise as it means you accomplished what you set out to do.

No one on this site reviewing my old fic from last year?
I did, thought it was short.

Spike's Bad Week

A cool little Spike story based on the game Conker's Bad Fur Day. I got a couple chuckles from it, so far.

It's got an interesting enough start, though the dude could really use someone to clean up the story a touch. Of course, knowledge of Conker's Bad Fur Day would help a lot more than author indicates.

A bit more mature on the subject matter, but still SFW I believe. It's only rated Teen...

From the Mouths of Fillies

A certain...Biological process occurs that crushes Spike's whole view of who he is and what he is.

I read that. Found it too contrived to be believable and read it off as a blatant attempt at sympathy by the author for the protagonist. I didn't enjoy it and put it down as soon as I read the nonsensical dialogue.

Huggled - Last week, Pegasi started hugging everyone in Ponyville, non-stop. It was fine for a day, but one day turned into two, two became three, and it wasn't long at all before most of Ponyville was utterly sick of their 'Snuggle Buddy'. Twilight Sparkle is now doing her best to find out the problem to the snuggle obsession and cure it before she, and all of Ponyville, are lost to the overwhelming force of pegasi cuddling.

The Bun, The Oven and the Muffin man

~-Spike jumped up from the couch in excitement. "Then you've actually met them!?"

Somehow, Discord's grin managed to stretch even wider. "Ohhhhhh yes. In fact, I've known your father since the day we were born! And your mother… well let's just say she and I are intimately acquainted…"-~
A funny little take on Spike's origins as told/revealed by Discord.

Twilight Sparkle vs The Equestrian Library Association

Twilight Sparkle loves being a librarian. She gets to spend all day surrounded by her favorite things in the world—books—and best of all, nopony ruins it by trying to talk to her (or at least if they do, they have to be quiet about it).

But when the new head of the Equestrian Library Association gives her an ultimatum, Twilight's future as Ponyville's librarian will hinge on her ability to face the most horrifying creatures she's ever had to deal with:

No, not her new boss (who's clearly up to no good). Not the cult of the Dark God Cacophonon. Not even the strange book that won't. Stop. Staring. Worse than all that.

Library Patrons.
Very good and very funny. Crazy librarian Twilight is best Twilight.

Long Story Short, Things Went Down

When Carrot Top discovers that her coltfriend is cheating on her, her first reaction is to kick him to next Monday. The fact that at the moment her coltfriend is attending Blueblood's birthday party doesn't seem to convince her otherwise.

The good news, her friends are all there to get her out of trouble.

The bad news, her friends are all a bunch of sociopaths.
A funny story full of ponies who are just stupid/conniving/mean/crazy enough to be friends. With stoned Nobles, Giants statues of mythological dolphins doing unspeakable things and a new use for the magic of Cutie Marks, it's good for a few laughs as it takes your ideas about some favorite background ponies and breaks them completely.

I just don't know what went right, A Derpy x Celestia Romance Fic

Celestia is lonely. Hopelessly lonely. With Twilight living in Ponyville and Luna busy reclaiming her role as Princess of the Night, the immortal Sun Goddess finds herself with not a single pony to talk to, heart-to-heart. Until fate decides to fling an unfortunate grey pegasus through her window and into her life. Can love survive the massive class gradient or will the pressures of being a single-mom... or being a solar deity... crush this romance before it blossoms?
One of the BEST FiM romance fics I've read to date, both heartwarming and hilarious. While it may seem like Celestia is moving a bit too fast, as so far all Derpy's done is be a friend so far, it makes sense when you think about it; Derpy is the first one to be informal and actually offer to be her friend in centuries, which I can see Celestia latching on to.

Plus, Celestia going all Wrath of the SUN! when the Foal Free Press gets a picture of the two together and Diamond Tiara writes a scathing article insulting everyone's favorite mailmare. Of course, she doesn't know who the editor-in-chief is, but I can't wait to see the looks on BOTH their faces: Celestia when she sees that Diamond Tiara's just a filly, if an insufferable brat, and Diamond Tiara's face when she realizes that she just incurred the wrath of Celestia.

A few new recs from me:
Wandering Moon: The Elements of Harmony send Luna with Nightmare Moon in her subconscious to the Capital Wasteland. Equestria parts take place 1000 years ago.

Twilight Makes First Contact: A First Contact story where the ponies come to Earth. Where the fic is, they are just starting to communicate. Plus, there's actual scientists involved. Very good read for those who like first contact stories.

The White Mare: Basically, after banishing Nightmare Moon 1000 years ago, Celestia exiles herself to the Everfree Forest. Fluttershy finds her during that fateful day of the first Sonic Rainboom, and more or less becomes her student. I apologize if this has already been rec'd.

The Jasmine Dragon: Basically, Iroh from Avatar: The Last Airbender, the actual series, not the horribad movie, gets sent to Equestria. He even shows why he was called the Dragon of the West.

Finally, a sequel to a fic I posted a few posts back, The Eagle is Sealed, sequel to The Eagle Has Landed. First, the fic from Luna's POV, then everyone trying to get home. Well, home as in Earth.

A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Throne Room
I have to say these chapters don't feel like they're strictly the same universe, but whatevs. All I know is that I want to see more of this Celestia.

EDIT: adding this too
Equestria's First Prank Call - No sooner does Twilight Sparkle invent the very first phone than she gets the very first phone call, and learns that, just maybe, this technology isn't quite ready for Equestria.

I second A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Throne Room. I also have a tentative rec. Oh, Bother. If you read that in Winnie the Pooh's voice, that's the crossover. Pinkie Pie ends up in the Hundred Acre Wood on a Windsday. Yes, she meets Tigger. The story feels like the old Pooh movies, especially with how the narrator interacts with the characters.

Insult to Inquiry

Spike's been getting mixed messages, literally, as he is repeatedly sent jewel encrusted candies with insulting notes, and he's going to get to the bottom of this.

A funny little story, if only for the out of left field end pairing.

Rescue

Just your average fairy tale, a brave knight climbs a mountain to save a dragon from the bitchy prin...cess...

Wait a minute...

Seriously though, this is something that, to me, seems like one of those good bits of headcanon.

I've been really enjoying Hard Reset 2: Reset Harder. It's an authorised spin off from the also very good Hard Reset.

In Hard Reset, Twilight uses a time loop spell to beat a second changeling attack on Canterlot. In Hard Reset 2: Reset Harder a unknown force changes the universe and now Celestia and Chrysalis are also looping. I really like it, through the Among Monsters chapters weren't very good imo.
