Just Dodge - Lyra Heartstrings doesn't have a high opinion of Discord. After all, why didn't he just DODGE?

Edit: The Delicate Art of Changeling Finding - Roseluck wants a changeling to cuddle. Why are they so darn elusive? Well, she's going to find them with her inventions, whether they like it or not!

Very very funny: Anarchive Reigns by Aragon.

Aragon describes the story as "The Canterlot Archive decides to create a document listing the age of every pony in Equestria. It's impossible to mess this up. The Canterlot Archive messes this up."

I would describe it as a comedy of error and conspiracy. Assumption piles on assumption, misunderstanding upon misunderstanding until all that is left is lol. I literally did laugh out loud (and I mean literally literally :D)

Hail to the King - Qwapdo after a year is finally updated
Alicorns Don't Get Concussions
This is one of the presents from the 12 days of Christmas!
Also, new tentative rec: Anyone ever see a star get ponified? No, not those people in Hollywood, an actual star, like Sol. Cygnus X-1, a black hole, which is still a star, gets sent to Griffon land as a centaur. However, she is new to being organic, and acts like she was just born. Luckily, a Griffon is there to help. Oh, and papa Sol is so proud of his organics for leaving their planet! He'll be even prouder when they leave daddy's orbit, all on their own! This is The Collapse of Stolen Magic.

Another new tentative rec: Who is This Lord Tirek You Speak Of? Almost the same as Hail to the King, but for Tirek, and done by the guy who makes The King is Dead, Long Live the Emperor. This guy is a lot more calm and much smarter than "Sombra". Oh, and the way he died and got sent to Equestria? Ripped straight out of Yu Yu Hakusho. It even lampshades it right when you think "This is pretty much how Yusuke died."

Humanity's Greatest Pastime - "A human is running Ponyville's first, heavily filtered, connection to the internet. It's only a matter of time before the ponies break through… and find out the truth."

I lol'd.

Almost a month since last post? I think it should be allowable to post again:

Twilight Sparkle of the Royal Guard - In a twist of fate, Shining Armor is the one who is pushed into Celestia's Academy for Gifted Unicorns, and Twilight instead fantasizes being a member of the Royal Guard.

I'm going to recommend it, though I will mention there's definitely some shipping.

I'm reccing Saints and Sparkles. It's a Saints Row 4 crossover, where Twilight is Equestria's version of Gat, as in, the Zin kidnap her as a preemptive strike.

Saving The World Can Wait - Princess Twilight Sparkle is told of an ancient prophecy that claims the end of days are nigh, but really, finishing her sandwich is looking more important.

My Brother, The Tooth - Luna tells Twilight Sparkle a very disturbing secret about all of the Royal Guards

How Flash Sentry Got His Face Rearranged - Flash wakes up to find himself in the hospital. Worst part is, he remembers WHY he's there.

It's Witchcraft I Tell You! - Anonymous has been trying to unravel a mystery involving pony butts, but Twilight Sparkle is insistent on interfering. Despite the image for the story, no sexual content.

Humans Don't Have Wings - "Lyra is hunting for humans and has dragged Rainbow Dash along for the ride." Starts off a bit silly, but I liked it.

A Change In Three Parts - "An earth pony figures out a ritual to give herself the ability to switch between the three pony races. So, why is no one in Ponyville happy about it?" An interesting, if short, read. Last chapter is nowhere near as long as the first two, but it fits as a conclusion.

Twilight Verbs Article Nouns - Twilight is tired of pointless paparazzi and other media knuckleheads trying to make an article about the most mundane or ridiculous concepts. The fallout amused me quite a bit.

Twilight Sparkle Exports Herself Repeatedly - The sequel to "Twilight Verbs Article Nouns" and Twilight Sparkle Eventually Solves A Conundrum - The sequel to "Twilight Sparkle Exports Herself Repeatedly".

The latter two stories devolve into shipping, so those not interested in it, I'd opt out after the first chapter of the "Twilight Sparkle Exports Herself Repeatedly". It's largely shipping from there.

edit:
Pros and Cons - Discord has found Tirek, and is about to parade him back to his friends for their love and adoration. But an offer is made, an enticing offer... He'll need to talk this one over with a friend.

Schadenfreude - Princess Celestia decides Prince Blueblood needs something to curb his behavior. Her answer? A pony named Schadenfreude who is to be Blueblood's butler, who is allowed to do whatever is needed to make sure Blueblood is on time.

pony.exe- Twilight has somehow become either a soul in a human's computer, or an extremely advanced AI. Now they have to work together to get her home, using as little magic as possible, since magic is harmful to technology. Oh, and the file Twilight's in is a huge memory hog.

If anyone remembers Arrow 18, the rather realistic human in equestria via space travel, featuring Twilight discovering computers, it not only got a triple update, it's now complete.
We finally learn how the Equis system works. Yes, Chrysalis was VERY close to a planetary catastrophe.

Given my dislike of his SI fic I'm surprised I liked this one as much as I did. ^_^

Gonna toss out some recommendations based on a number of fanfics I've read recently:

The Moon, The Flower and The Door.  Princess Luna is looking to take on an apprentice.  However, almost every applicant has failed her test.  Almost every applicant.
I rank it a 8.5/10.

One Heck Of A Case.  Twilight wakes up to find that somepony needs her to make a ruling on a rather serious verbal agreement.
The case is actually based on an infamous Greek tale and I do have to agree with some of the points the author makes.  9/10

Red Apples. (borrowed from the synopsis) Nightmare Moon is defeated, Ponyville is celebrating the return of the sun and Princess Luna finds herself a thousand years from the world she knew, where even apples are strange.
A short reflective tale on how things could change in a thousand years and how hard it would be to accept that.  I enjoyed it.  9/10

Would It Matter If I Was (borrowed from the synopsis) In the wake of the Canterlot Wedding, Fluttershy has to ask Twilight a very difficult question.
One of few cases where I'll flatout ruin the twist of a story to discuss it: Fluttershy insinuates that she's a changeling to see how Twilight would react if she was one, but then reveals she isn't a changeling, but rather testing Twilight's morality.
Mind you, the Fluttershy in this story does this morality test the day after the Wedding and in a manner that isn't befitting Fluttershy's personality, which would make me, in Twilight's place, do a thorough investigation to make sure it WAS Fluttershy.
As a thought exercise, I kind of enjoy the concept of one of the Mane 6 not being what they appear, but I don't like how one-sided the argument is in this story.  As other readers point out, Fluttershy's basically doing a poorly timed and poorly informed rant about prejudices, followed by a "drop the mic and leave" moment at the end.
I've been sorely tempted to write a follow up reponse to this story.
Overall, though, I'd rate this as a 4/10

I got a lot of fics that I have in my FIMFiction bookshelf account. One day I'll  have to go list a bunch of the better ones.

For now, here's one:

Home is Where your Curse Is
Ranma 1/2 crossover. Hikaru Gosunkugi destroys the world. Ranma is the only survivor, but gets trapped in the artifact of destruction. An untold amount of time passes by, transforming the world into Equestria. Ranma gets freed, and things progress from there with your typical Ranma 1/2 slapstick comedy. Shaping up to be a Ranma x Trixie buddy cop/romance thing, and each of them act exactly like you would expect their canon selves to be.

Dexter's Lab: Equestria
The basic gist is Dexter gets sucked through a wormhole and appears in Ponyville as an Earth colt. It happens some time after the Changeling invasion, so hidden Changelings and that whole subplot drives the story as a whole.

There's a lot of terrific humour here, such as the running gag of Dexter denying that any pony princess should be able to raise and lower the sun and moon, but it also takes some pretty dark turns at time, as Dexter seems to follow the Medieval Civilisation Non-Interference Clause of trying to avoid giving the ponies any hints that he knows advanced science and mathematics, but gives away too much too soon so that Twilight Sparkle is already onto him.

Tentative recs: Snake Pie. An EQG crossover where Pinkie and Maude have had a stepfather for a few years now. Who is there stepfather? A certain Snake. Specifically, Solid/Old Snake post MGS 4.
Sunset Reset. After the Friendship Games in EQG 3, Sunset takes back magic in the EQG world and goes home, only for the portal to pull a Stargate: Continuum time travel thing.
Also, I second The Moon, the Sunflower, and the Door, as well as recommend it's sequel, What's Your Story, Morning Glory?

The Shortest Challenge for the Throne To Date - Princess Celestia has a peculiar way of dealing with would-be usurpers. All they have to do to challenge her rule is sit on her throne. If she leaves the throne room before they are removed, they win. Some of these attempts are shorter than others. This is the shortest one yet.
I enjoyed it. I'd rate it 5/5

Do You Want Nightmare Moons? Royal Guard Silver Birch knows it was an honest mistake, but Princess Luna is well known for having flipped out before at being ignored. Now, he and his partner must find a way to SAVE EQUESTRIA!
Despite it's goofy premise, I kinda liked the story. I'd rate it a 4/5.

The Floor is Lava - An epic adventure where Twilight learns about love, loss, and proper pillow placement to get to the kitchen for cookies.
