Ah.

Moving on, out of my recently read fics...

In Their Highnesses' Clandestine Corps and Piefall, both are James Bond expy fics with Blueblood as a Prince by day, secret agent by night. The first one is fairly middle of the scale between comedy and seriousness, while the second one leans more towards comedy.

The Many Clones of Twilight Sparkle is a completely insane comedy with a few dark twists here and there, where Twilight Sparkle builds a cloning machine and goes crazy with cloning herself. For reference, there is a Pancake Sparkle. She makes pancakes.

Sunset Reset is really weird with how it seems obsessed with using the comics canon even with parts that contradict the show.

Of course, it's because of that that I think we'll no doubt see Reflections Sombra and Radiant Hope in the future.

The Adventures of Batsy Fluffentuft the Magnificent by ocalhoun.

Batsy Fluffentuft (not the most respected of the lunar guards, and in fact on super-probation from Princess Luna herself) manages to escape into the town of Canterlot and have herself an adventure.
This is a rather amusing comedy staring the titular Batsy Fluffentuft. Rather funny in a wacky, everyone seems about 10-years old way.

 Harmony Theory by Sharaloth

After the Changeling invasion, Celestia and Luna make the decision to have Twilight investigate the Elements of Harmony and solve the mystery of their power.

A thousand years later, Rainbow Dash awakens in a world she does not recognize. She has no idea how or why she came to be there. She does not know the language, the geography or any of the rules of this new time. She soon finds allies in Star Fall, a scholarly pegasus whose Talent is Magic, and Astrid, Star Fall's Griffin guardian. Together they set out to discover why Dash has been sent to the future, and how she might return to when she belongs.

War threatens the nations, a Nightmare stalks the shadows, and Rainbow Dash's arrival has turned her into a wild card in a deadly game that pits the law on both sides of a broken Equestria against a mysterious criminal figure, Max Cash. Yet the stakes are higher than anyone knows, for in her research Twilight Sparkle discovered a dark secret about the Elements, something that will shake the foundations of the world.
Epic is as epic does. Simply put, Dash finds her self in a future where there is far less magic in the world. As a result, she is a super-pony (even more super than she was before). Dash's adventures are mixed with the slowly revealing truth of the Elements of Harmony. Very well written.

 Transistance by ToixStory

In the distant future of Equestria, Luna is recalled to Canterlot against her will to participate in a court case that will decide the future for sentient machines.
Not perfect but rather good. It features sci-fi future Equestria, with some cyberpunk influences. Twilight turns up but very much a Luna story.

A few more I've read in the last few weeks.

Trixie vs. Equestria

TvE sounds like a Scott Pilgrim parody. It really isn't, and the only thing it really shares is the concept of having to fight Exes. In fact, once I started reading it, after the first five or six chapters I got a really unsettling feeling, and that unsettling feeling paid off in a good way. The latter half of the story is really depressing, though with a happy ending.
There's two prequels, only one of which I've bothered to read. Even the plot synopsis of Twilight's Inferno is a big spoiler for TvE so if you have any interest read TvE first. The problem is they both spoil one another really if you've read one, but TvE first is probably the more powerful read.

Name Rater
A short-ish comedy detailing just why so many ponies have names that coincide with their talents, even though they get their names at birth.

Everypony Lives
A really short, really unsettling look at a future with a quasi-benevelot Tyrant Sparkle.

Anyone You Want Me To Be
Another unsettling one-shot, this one about a Changeling who opens a psychiatric practice using his ability to be anyone a pony wants him to be.

I left a comment for that chapter

Somehow, I get the feeling that Blood Rite was quite right in that Cakelestia Celestia is lazy and won't get off her damn haunches. What the result will be is that for the next several days, Celestia will get a copy of her newspaper and spit out her tea as she sees headlines like 'Madpony Calamity Assaults Princess in Battle to Determine Fate of Equestria', 'Princess Ambushes Circus Performers Including a Dragon and Gender-Bender Pony', 'Princess Luna Caught in Three-Way Catfight with Two Other Mares', 'Princess and Her New Apprentice Both have Moon Cutie Marks -  Coincidence, or is Her Apprentice Really Her Bastard Child Born Out of Wedlock?!', 'Calamity Strikes Again! His Assault of Two Innocent Unicorns Blows Up Sugar Factory, Cake Factory Shuts Down Due to Lack of Sugar'.

Poor Trixie, though. She tried so hard and was making headway with getting the two sides to back down. Ranma really kind of had the ultimate brain fart to remove the MacGuffin Stone from his hammerspace though and hoof it over to Spike.

Probably the funniest moment in the chapter to me personally is the segment where Trixie snarks at Twilight for not telling Luna basically anything about Ranma while they were were together, and Twilight's assertion that she had important things to read like local history. That's so classical Twilight, and of course she screws up a bunch of stuff as a result.

By the way, if Luna ran off...that means that Spike has been left with Ranma and Trixie. That will surely end in character dynamics where each of them respects the other two *laughtrack*

Anyways, for my own rec...

What Lies Beyond the Dance

A rather darkish take off the end of Season 5 that's played up a bit for laughs but is definitely meant to leave you with an unsettling feeling, and certainly succeeded for me.

The Boop With No Name - He's the traveler, the outlaw, the blue-eyed bad man, the restless wanderer who leaves nothing but woe in his wake. He is a man that has laid low entire cities in a single night.

And he has business in Equestria.

I found it patently silly.

The Mailmare, an extremely hilarious Derpy/Trixie (non-romantic) pairing. Derpy gets a ticket meant for Twilight Sparkle to attend a magic convention, and Trixie convinces her to go as 'Twilight Sparkle', with Trixie intending to use Derpy's mannerisms to embarrass Twilight Sparkle. Meanwhile, Celestia is a troll.

My Little Western is another old Trixie adventure fic, where she ends up in Appleoosa. Here, she teams up with Braeburn, Little Strongheart and Sheriff Silverstar to fend off a group of bandits and outlaws terrorising the town

Trav(ap)est(r)y and Good For Nearly All Princess Labor, Public And Private by Estee left me both amused and intrigued.

The former, "Trav(ap)est(r)y", is a story about a hideous and unwanted heirloom and the perils in trying to get rid of the blasted thing when everyone else seems to believe it has some bizarre value just because its old and the maker famous (for something completely unrelated to said heirloom).

The latter, "Good For Nearly All Princess Labor, Public And Private", is a story about how Celestia and Luna originally managed to get the Equestrian currency to be recognized, and the pitfalls that come from that decision. Also introduces a curious but terrifying breed of monster.

Hip Hop Horses - You know how all the ponies in Equestria seem to join in on the song and dance routines? Well, there's a reason for that, one that a certain human stuck in Equestria is going to have to deal with... or else.
Doofy, but this writer often amuses me.

Fake My Death - Lyra needs your help to fake her death. For tax purposes.

Just stumbled onto these two stories and I'm just going to post their summaries as I feel I'd probably give away more than I should:

Post Negative Comments Only - Cadance isn't Sombra. But Sombra's leadership is all the crystal ponies remember, a ruler they had to love at all costs, with the final payment being their own lives. And as they gradually come to see their new Princess as leader instead of savior, too much of that residual fear is being transferred to her. They praise her, adore her, refuse to correct her no matter what she does -- because they live in terror of the consequences for doing anything else. They have yet to find their own voices, and may go on repeating hers until Celestia and Luna switch shifts. So how can she make them tell her when she's wrong, see that there's nothing to be afraid of, and take the next step in coming back to themselves once and for all?

Forbidding them to do anything other than criticize her should do the trick, right?
The Bounce Test - This story is a sequel to Post Negative Comments Only

He's been reassigned so many times as to have a file thicker than his armor. There are ponies who doubt his ability to cross a room without creating a disaster, and he's one of them. Banishment to the Moon is in fact too good for him. He's the single least suitable member in the history of the Crystal Guard, and history had better be prepared to take on eternity if it's ever going to see him surpassed. Because Flash Sentry starts every morning with a silent declaration of I'll get fired today and goes to sleep on I'll be fired tomorrow.

Or maybe that's more of a prayer.

And somehow Ranma-- Sorry, "Calamity"-- somehow manages to translate the ol' Saotome Dress Up Far Better Than S/He Should Be Able To into Pony.

I kind of wish they'd found an equine version of a Cheongsam, though. Would have been perfect.
