Yeah I've noticed as much but I think the reason it takes so long to upgrade at all in the first place is because of all the boosts to power it receives as well as the back giving you a good 10-15 seconds of just wailing on a monster, combine the two together and it's a wailing party for all eternity!

Using Greatsword here. Takes a lot of mastery and observation skills, but love using it - currently rocking a Tiger Jawblade and might switch to the Dusterscholz for early High Rank HR quests.
My favourite hunt so far's been the Gore Magala. The bastard's a touch sucker but so satisfying to whittle down.

Well if you're a cat person you get a lot of game out of using your kitty cat teams and playing monster hunter dress-up with them so there's that which rocks so hard it's amazing. There's about 30% more content than any previous iteration of the game itself, two new weapons each one amazing in their own right though the glaive is very complicated to upgrade and can be confusing. The game is the most difficult monster hunter game to come out in the past few years and the difficult ramps up fast rather than doing anything like waiting for high rank. The degree of maneouverability is amazing as the swimming from last gen is replaced by jumping, leaping and other things. Some of the usual mechanics are overhauled to give room to far more interesting and less wasteful ones too. The new monster-types are amazing both mechanically and design-wise as they fit right in rather than imitate the same attacks of other wyverns which would be easier to manage and EVERY single monster has new attack patterns which is great and that's without including the weapon changes atop of that, the ease of tutorial accessibility which while not top tier has for the first time explained things well rather than almost not at all like in 3 or not at all like in previous games. And well...the multiplayer is fun as always but with new mechanics teamwork takes on a different tone and harmony depending on the weapons your team carries which is made so much more evident now. Nevermind that you can hunt kirin early and there's upgradeable quests! =3 Also there's that whole Samus Aran and other Nintendo Armors+weapons DLC that are gonna come out those will be fun and the DLC are usually free so that's something to look forward to, Zelda will be coming in as well via Link. Sooooo yeah!

I finally gave in and bought a copy for myself and my friend since I got the new 3DS to play Pokémon and also Final Fantasy explores . I haven't yet taken the time to learn how to use the glaive yet but I've always been a big fan of the hunting horn or the bow- if you guys want to play I'll go ahead and post my 3DS when I get back to the house.
