I'll just use a quote from Benjamin Franklin for my thoughts on this matter: "Those who would give their freedom for a little temporary safety deserve neither freedom nor safety."

I agree. I mean, I wasn't defending the way Bush was going to use that statement, I was merely pointing out the logic behind it in that there is such thing has having too much freedom. There are reasons why we live in a society of rules. We give up some rights, in order to obtain others.

You know, I knew you guys had it bad, but man... makes my political issues seem smaller. I mean, half the main party is involved in some scheme, people are betraying each other, a housekeeper was accused of moneywashing just because he said the Minister of Finances was dealing with illegal money*...

*Unsure, since I stopped following the news for a while.

Italy is even worse, H-Man. Our President of Republic, Berlusconi, was on trial for corruption, but he avoided jail by going into politocs and gaining temporary diplomatic immunity, and ended up creating so many tailor-.made laws that the plaintiffs had to give up because he put too many obstacles before them.

And half our government notoriously has deals with the Mafia. Everybody knows it, but it can't be officially stated because there's no solid proof.

I'm probably going to regret saying this, but if the two canditades for President in 2008 are Hillary Clinton and John McCain, who would you prefer?

Myself, I'd have to go with McCain.

Don't get me started on Hillary... Last time she ran for the Oval Office, she was carrying a bat...

Hillary Clinton is a raging soccer mom. I'd vote Jesse Ventura over her, just out of general principle, if it came to that. Nuff said.

I don't mind the idea of a female President, but the female in question had better not be a bitch. Hillary is far too annoying to get my approval.

Yah but you just know that because she's a female while she'll lose the 'macho' male vote and 'good old boy' vote she'll get a good portion of the women's votes, the feminist vote, and the weeny 'tries to be a feminist' guy vote, along with Hyne knows who else, just because she's a women.

True. There will be a hardcore base that will vote for her.

HOWEVER, I've seen a recent poll that even California (my home state, and very Democratic), isn't too fond of Hilary being President. CALIFORNIA! We're perfectly find with a woman President. Just not her! If we're not supporting her, then she has NO chance of being Prez.

Yah California and Texas are two of the big sway votes, whoever gets them has a huge advantage, Florida (my home state) has a moderately large impact but it takes forever just for us to get the votes in. *remembers last election*

Heh, I remember. And there was the whole Bush vs. Gore fiasco before that.

America! The only nation in the world where the guy with the most absolute votes LOSES the election!

Well, unless I'm mistaken (and I rarely am), several votes were disqualified on the 2000 elections. Guess who voted?

If you mean in the early 1900's then yah but as far as I know there was this guy called Martin Luther King Jr. a while back ya'see and he made a whole lot of speeches and such and got the black's their right to vote and do a whole lot of other stuff as well, if they've decided to get rid of the equal race opportunity laws then this is the first I've heard of it.

The video or the actual computer voting machines?

No idea neither way really. The voting machines were a retarded idea, especially with all the suspicious rumors I've heard... <_<

Ahaha, that was great, I love the voice in the backround cursing out the machine, no clue where you find these videos but they're hilarious.

The thing about the computer voting machines is that, they were in response to the whole Butterfly ballot fiasco that many blame for handing Bush Florida (since all of these people voted for the wrong guy you know). The thing is, they were supposed to get rid of the punch card ballot, but the issue wasn't the punch card ballot. It was what the voting thing was designed that confused all those people in Florida. And now, we have an even greater problem with the computer voting machines. <_<

Yup. Heck, the punch card ballot things was actually a SAFER mode to vote since, it left behind a paper trail. I mean the only issue was the badly designed ballots that made all of these Jewish voters in Florida vote for the anti-semite Pat Buchanan. Redesign the butterfly ballot and you have something here. When they first came out, the Computer Voting Machines, didn't even have a reciept to tell you how you voted. And for many of these machines, they still don't despite calls to do that. So in essense, my ATM is safer since I get that little reciept telling me how much money I have, but if I vote...NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, no paper trail. <_<

It just keeps getting better and better eh? ;)
It's a good thing Bush can't be reelected. I'm not even sure there'll still be a world by the time his term expires... four more years would bring about a nuclear winter, I just know it.
