Nasuverse My first FSN idea

According to the entry for Fate Hollow Ataraxia, the time loop which is the focus of the visual novel is basically a result of Rin messing around with the event horizon and seriously messing up space and time. There's potential for this experiment of hers to be the set-up for different stories that mess around with the FSN timeline. Here's a tidbit for example that's been bugging me for a bit...

**********

It had started off like any other regular day after the Fifth Holy Grail War had ended. Sakura would come by to make breakfast while Ilya and Fujimura would get into another fight. A part of him regularly expected Rin-san to drop in the kitchen and join the meal like before but he had to remind himself that she's off in London studying to become a true magus.

"How could you let a brat like her stay with you, Shirou?! Don't you have other family who can take care of her?" complained Fujimura just as she failed to stop Ilya from swiping a piece of her breakfast from her plate.

"You're just mad because you can't defend your food properly, baka-Taiga!!" taunted the albino girl. She pulled down one eyelid and stuck out her tongue, just as she had seen some fictional characters do on television.

"WHY YOU LITTLE... !!!"

Just as the two started to get into another chase, Sakura noticed the now empty bowl of her crush. "More rice, sempai?"

After the morning meal and clean up was finished, it was off to school for Shirou, Sakura and Fujimura. He was initially worried about leaving Ilya all alone in his house but she reassured him that she can take care of herself since she's more intelligent than she appeared to be.

They were only a few minutes away from the school when a strong feeling of nausea overcame Shirou's senses. This feeling of nausea was far more intense than when he had first sensed Rider's Noble Phantasm, Blood Fort Andromeda.

"Sempai?"

The dizziness became too much for him and he passed out, barely hearing Sakura's distressed cry.

As he returned to consciousness, the first thing he heard was a female voice calling out to him.

(In true TypeMoon fashion...)

1. "Wakey wakey, Shirou!"
2. "Sempai!"

[If you chose option 1]:

When the young man came to, he first realized that he was lying on fabric rather than the cold hard concrete that he had recalled collapsing on just as he neared school. He looked around his surroundings and he was nowhere near school. In fact, he was in one of the parks of Fuyuki City.

"Are you okay, Shirou?" Tohsaka's question snapped him out of his daze.

'Wasn't I just heading to school with Sakura?' He looked around to see an assortment of foods that had been brought along for a nice outdoor picnic. His eyes then fell on the small blonde woman finishing off a sandwich. He had to blink a few times just to make sure he wasn't hallucinating. "Saber?"

"Yes?"

"How... are you here? I thought I used the last command spell to order you to destroy the Grail."

Tohsaka looked at the young man strangely. "What are you talking about? You still have your command spells even though you're no longer her Master."

He glanced at his left hand to see the familiar red markings. "Then how is she here? And if I'm no longer her Master, then what am I?"

"She has a contract with me. As long as I supply her with mana, she can stay in this realm. Without a contract, she would have faded unless she wanted to stay in this realm and absorb humans for mana like Gilgamesh did. As for you, you are going to be my apprentice when we leave for the Mage Association next week."

It was at this point that Saber spoke again. "Why did you not mention that you and he are also lovers?"

"I was just getting to that!!" exclaimed Rin with a furious blush on her face.

Considering the amount of new information that had been forcefed to him, fainting was really starting to seem like a good option right about now.

[If you chose option 2]:

"Sakura?" It took him about two seconds for his mental alertness to reboot itself and recognize that he was no longer near the school. His brain also mentioned that his body was currently lying on something comfortable and his head was resting against an object covered in black leather. "Where am I?"

"You're safe within my chambers, Sempai."

"Eh?" He pushed himself into a seated position on the bed and turned to see Sakura, who was dressed in the black outfit that he had seen her wear when he, Saber and Rin fought against Caster, Assassin and Kuzuki.

"Master." Their moment had been interrupted when Saber's cold voice carried across the room. "I regret to report that Illyasviel, Tohsaka and Rider are nowhere to be found in the designated area."

Shirou's eyes looked towards the kneeling Servant. Her blue battle outfit and her determined emerald eyes had been replaced by black clothing, red runes on her battle armour and glazed golden eyes. The outer edges of her face had darker skin giving her the look of someone infected with a disease.

"How unfortunate but I suppose it can't be helped. The forest is her territory and she would know how to keep out of sight easily. By now they probably made it back into the city." She got on her knees and crawled across the bed to the seated boy. "I have some work to do but I'll be back soon, Sempai."

He didn't react as she gave him a chaste kiss on his cheek before she got up to leave the room. Before she exited the door, she paused to give an order. "Saber, please look after him until I get back." With that said, she was gone.

As the Servant got up from her kneeling position, Shirou approached her carefully, uncertain of what this new Saber was like. "Can you tell me what's going on?"

The young man felt his spine tingle nervously as Saber's glazed golden eyes met his own. "My Master is going to summon the Holy Grail and change the world for the better." The way she said it though left a feeling of dread in Shirou's heart.

That's the end of the random bits in my head. Yes, I know that Dark Sakura is OOC and should have a corrosive touch but that seems a bit too boring. It's more interesting to see her personal traits and quirks exactly the same except with a diabolical goal in mind (sorta like Black Lady but not quite). Besides, the space time experiment by Rin could have seriously altered how certain events could have affected certain characters leading to an altered outcome in the Heaven's Feel scenario. Besides, we need some more good stories featuring Dark Sakura and Black Saber.

Okay... now that I'm done, feel free to rip into this idea as I know it needs a lot of refining. F1, I can seriously use some good input as to if this reality switching concept would work based on the experiment.

Well, Sakura's touch isn't necessarily corrosive (or at least, it needn't be, so long as Sakura is in control of herself. Since, if I recall correctly, it isn't her touch but rather her shadows).

Well, the main problem with it is you never actually find out if Rin's experiment was the cause of the entire incident or not. It likely was though, as I don't see what else could have prompted Avenger to suddenly grant Bazette's wish (albeit limitedly).

As far as I can see, considering that there ARE parallel realities, I don't see any reason it SHOULDN'T work, insofar as Shirou is jumping around into his own other selves. So long as you're not saying that realities are being created from it, anyway. 'though, so long as there isn't some sort of external influence (like Avenger in hollow/ataraxia), I can't see Shirou being able to 'jump' more then once.

But I agree, this world needs more Dark Sakura and Black Saber. ^_^ These snippets seem good, although if Shirou is from Fate, I can seem him crying when he sees Saber in either case (he did as much when he first saw her in hollow/ataraxia, which is supposedly based on the Fate scenario, although he didn't know WHY. Granted, HA Shirou isn't really Shirou but that's beside the point. ^^;; ).

Uhm, no.

10. If we take the Saber and Caster flasback scenes as being part of the history from the outside world, then hollow ataraxia probably takes place after the Fate route. Of course, it's a fake world so it's hard to take anything definite except for Bazett and Caren's own backgrounds, Bazett's encounter with Kotomine, the letter reaching the outside (whether it's even "outside" or not can't really be said) world, Rin's experiences in London, and the ending.
What we do know:
a. The premise of the daytime loop is based on a situation where Shirou defeats Kotomine, Saber defeats Gilgamesh, and Saber destroys the Grail using Rin's command spell; Shirou notices something odd about this.
b. Shirou cries when he sees Saber for the first time in hollow ataraxia.
c. Shirou has some memories of Saber leaving which is why he isn't enthuthiastic about going up Ryuudouji with Saber.
d. Caster has memories of Kuzuki being killed (by Gilgamesh). This fits with what she said in the Fate route when she attacked and the timing overall in the original game (the rain coinciding with the end of the Ryuudouji draining problem).
e. In the HF end, Rin refers to Bazett as the Master that was assassinated (by Kotomine), which means that she probably hadn't met Bazett - 2 years after the original game. Time is passing in the real world while the loop is continuing, but probably not beyond 2 years and Rin and Shirou should have met Bazett in the real world in the epilogue.
Source

While I obviously can't confirm this from personal playing experience (giving that, while I HAVE played hollow ataraxia, I can't understand more then 10% of any of the dialogue), I'm going to say that's as conclusive as you can get considering the game ends as soon as the loop does (relatively, anyway).

Either way, there's mucking about with dimensional space involved.

I sense the hand of the Wizard Marshall involved in this.

That works. :p

I think it WOULD be fitting if Zelretch (having taking note of Shirou's little journey), decided to make use of Rin's experiment and throw Shirou about willy-nilly.

I haven't gotten too far in figuring out how exactly Shirou was the one to be chosen as the person to make the jumps. The way I see it, Rin's experiment either adds or subtracts certain variables (items, people, events) from whatever timeline resulting in something quite new. Shirou (based on FSN anime instead of Fate scenario) would have to possess some sort of temporal shielding (either given to him by Zelretch for whatever purposes or has one of his own somehow) in order for his memory to remain intact after the jump.

I'll post random snippets for the altered Heaven's Feel scenario from time to time when the mood strikes me.

Felt like testing the waters even more so here's another snippet of alternate HF scenario. Forgive me for any errors that may be made here.

**********

'Sakura's going to summon the Holy Grail?!' That phrase simply did not compute in Emiya Shirou's head. It was just as ridiculous as 'Fuji-nee taking the nickname of Tiger-sensei as a compliment'. The words however did come out of Saber's mouth.

He recalled what Kirei had told him about the Grail during the last battle at the temple and how the tainted Grail granted wishes through destruction. At least this explained why Sakura is after Ilya.

'Just what could have happened to twist Sakura so much? And Saber too?' It was hard to tell how much of the Sakura he knew is in the girl who had kissed him earlier. He knew that she was still in there since she had addressed him as 'Sempai'.

Could he say the same for Saber? He honestly didn't know. The Saber in front of him looked like a complete stranger, so cold and distant. A complete opposite of the final warm memory that he kept in his heart when Saber faded away after the battle.

'Shirou... I love you...'

'Saber...' He had blink several times to fight back some tears that were threatening to spill from his eyes. When he regained his vision, he noticed that Black Saber was standing in front of him.

"Is there something that causes you distress?"

Shirou put on a brave look. "No... it's just a little dust."

She didn't seem to buy his excuse but unless he brought it up to her, it was not her concern. "If there is something that is bothering you, please inform me at once. I will do whatever I can to help you." For a second, she almost sounded like the Saber he knew.

"Is that really your choice or are you simply fulfilling a duty that has been placed upon you by your Master?"

The only answer he got was silence.

Am I even on the right track here? Geez... writing out a good and interesting Black Saber is pretty tough.

Another question... roughly when does the attack on Ilya's castle in the HF scenario occur? February 10? I would like to know how many days are left in the time frame before the 2 week period is up by February 13. I can probably double check with my own FSN game but I'm a lazy bum.

Oh, sorry, I completely missed this question.

If you're still don't know at this time... Uhm... If you're talking about the attack where Berserker is eaten, that takes place on the ninth day. The rescue of Ilya takes place on fourteenth day.

Well... It IS hard because Black Saber never actually display much personality, unlike her normal self. Even if you had understood the game dialogue, I doubt you'd have much of an easier time. :/

Still, I think you're doing a decent job. Are you still working on you little project, or has it been stalled?

It's sorta stalled for the moment. The stresses of post-graduate applications and job searching (and a strange new obsession with creating 'original' Yu-Gi-Oh cards) are draining whatever writing energy I have. But I will get back to this.
