My Little Pony: FIM

No kidding. Hell, even in the show, the Mane Cast are clearly adult ponies! They have careers! They run businesses and farms! They get handed assignments to supervise town festivals! Hell, Twilight Sparkle tries to get drunk in the pilot for pete's sake. What the hell do they need to do to be more adult, fail a pregnancy test?
The only little kids in the show are the Cutie Mark Crusaders and their classmates. Who are explicitly lampshaded as, y'know, little kids.
... I may have been sucked into the Herd recently. A bit.
Edit: I just spent part of today having completely unironic, unmixed feelings of enjoyment while watching a cartoon unicorn sing about how much she loves to sew dresses. And then I hit rewind and watched it again. Several times.
So, more than a bit.

I'd like to recomend <a href='http://www.equestriadaily.com/2011/07/story-past-sins.html' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>Past Sins</a> again - the authors have done some fairly major rewriting to improve the characterization problems of the story. Celestia and Luna have dropped the idiot ball, and Nyx has been fleshed out some as well.
I'm still looking for that Spike fic on Google Docs. I can't find it anymore. Sadly, it was three days ago too, and man, the WTF!Meter on this viewer blew up when measuring just how dark the story was. The writer's name was SmellowProxy, but I can't seem to find him or her anymore. Or his fics (He had two, the other one was a Celestia-centric "a typical day" fic named Rules of the House, you might know it).

The primary mystery is about a room next to Celestia's that was hidden from all, including Celestia, only to be discovered by Luna. It seems to be a child's room....
The early chapters are a bit rough, but interesting.
