I was playing around a bit with the notion of sports and how they change people for quite a bit. I had numerous series in mind for a crossover with NGE but eventually settled on Hajime no Ippo, boxing manga fans should know what I'm talking about here.
Here's the basics for this fic:
Ippo, already a retired champion encounters a bullied Shinji while doing a road work to keep in shape. The situations early reminds him of his first encounter with a boxer and Ippo being Ippo he decides to help Shinji.
The effects are predictable and Shinji shortly becomes a boxer aiming to get to know what strenght is.
This will change quite a bit of things in the series:
He will fight the angels not because it is what it's needed out of him but because he wants to get stronger.
He will never get hit again.
He wont use boxing outside the ring unless you get him mad and if you do then bye bye.
Imagine someone trying to restrain him.
He will have a different outlook on life being more of a sportsman.
He will become somehow a little attention whore. (That will hinder a lot of plans *snickers*)
As for his style I'm leaning towards Vorg who was a terrific out boxer and one hell of an in boxer. I'm keeping the Liver Blow from Ippo though.
