Looking up at the sky, she felt depressed. For the past four days not one ray of sunlight touched the city of Mekkra. And despite what the forecasters had predicted for today, it was raining. Hard.

But that was not why she was so depressed. Raising her right hand high over her head, she allowed the red stains on her arm to splash onto her tearful face. A droplet found its way into her mouth, and she immediately dropped to the ground, wretching at the foul blood of tonights' victim.

Tonight's victim. Ah, yes. He looked like a nobody, yet at the same time emitted an aura of lust and deceit. So it was okay to kill him, right? even if it wasn't okay, he deserved it. Who the hell tries to drag a conscious person into a dark alleyway while trying to cup a feel? And the idiot kept grabbing at her like no tomorrow! Guys, that HURTS!!!

Yes, that was why she was depressed; the quality of the male race had declined.

A clap of thunder snapped her back to her senses. Just in time to catch the dagger that had slipped from her right hand. She couldn't die just yet. Maybe after her next victim, her original target.

But she was tired. Tired of all the missions. Tired of all the bioenhancements done to her body. Tired of the attitude that her superiors gave her. More than anything else, she was tired of killing. She was tired of her life.

This time, the dagger stopped a centimeter abover her left eye. But it did not leave her grasp. Hmm, must be what they called the power of the mind.

However, her mind was now occupied with something else. She knew it wouldn't last long, but she wanted to do it. Whichever electrode that had charged her mind with that thought ought to be thanked. Because now she wanted to live. Not for the services of some big hidden orginazation, but for herself. She chuckled to herself, as just thinking about it reminded her of the countless dramas she had read about.

It was the first and the biggest grin she ever wore on her face.

Miraculously, the rain was finally diminishing. As if on cue, her right hand made contact with her left arm. Five minutes later, the place where she stood was colored crimson. She knew that by the time they came to check on her, they would only find her tracking device dead on the ground, and her body nowhere in sight.

It was nice, except for the spelling errors, incorrect use of words, and quite overused theme of "I now have something to live for."

I'd like to see more, except that there probably won't be more, eh?
