Naruto screamed as the Kyuubi was forcibly dragged out of the seal and into the statue. Panting for a moment, he looked up at the cold figure of Tobi, who had abandoned all pretense of being anything but the leader of the Akatsuki.
"Why...?" Naruto managed to gasp out, his teeth clenched. "Why do you need the tailed beasts?"
The orange mask tilted sideways as Tobi seemed to consider Naruto's request. "I need it back," he said, after awhile. "They took it from me. It was mine."
"...the hell are you talking about? Took what?" Naruto asked. The other members of the Akatsuki looked puzzled as well; this was apparently news to them.
"My flames...I landed here...and my flames influenced the development of the insignificant creatures crawling about across my meal. They developed little flames of their own inside of them. But as I grew, some found me...I thought it impossible that such creatures could ever harm me, but they managed to release almost all of my essence...and it formed into nine beasts. Without it, I was almost dead..."
The Akatsuki were growing more worried...this had never been mentioned before...what had they gotten themselves involved in?
"I was forced to walk amongst such creatures...to understand how they thought, in order to correct this...abomination. To exit my perfect shell," he said, waving his hand at the bizarre statue that several Akatsuki were shifting uneasily upon, "and take on the form of such insects. But now...it has almost all returned to me..." The apparent madman, glowing with chakra, levitated up into the air as the last of Kyuubi's power was sucked into it. As he began to sink down into it, the last thing Naruto heard was, "...I even found out what they had called me, though they had no inkling of my true nature...nevertheless...LAVOS IS RESTORED!"

Not sure if that's sufficiently cracky, but. It just popped into my head. Narutoverse? DOOMED.
