Wait, what?!
It's not exactly what one would recommend, the premise is weak.

Negi "hiding" after killing a "Red Cort Vampire" because the vampire's master will want revenge... yeah, no.

Any one remember Eva's presence? Or just what kind of power house Negi really is?

To be fair, I don't think we have a timeline yet. This could be before the Magic World arc. And yes, the Red Court vampires ARE mostly outclassed by the fighters of Mahora, both Students and Teachers. And the reason Eva isn't known about IS told in the latest chapter.

Try POST Magic World arc

"Started him out," Evangeline corrected him. She sat back, looking thoughtful, "I trained Negi in the basics, but he built on that a lot in the magical world." She actually looked kind of rueful, "In some ways he's progressed beyond me."

I doubt even the entire court would count as a warm up even if they had the element of surprise.

Maybe Negi's "In Hiding" from the Red Court vamps for the same reason the Doctor "hid" from the Family of Blood?

The sheer amount of fail in that story was epic. A million starving orphans and their pet puppies were murdered to erase the sin of that fics existence.

I think that's a bit extreme, Tsuki.

@biigoh: Nevermind then. Pre-magic world arc would make it much more believable.

I think it likely.
That or it'd be too much trouble to deal with them.

Does anyone know good Negima fics that AREN'T on Fanfiction.net? I've checked out nearly everything there. Could be Deviantart, could be Writing.com, could be Geocities(is that one still around?), could be Animesuki(they have a wonderful Nanoha archive), I don't care.

Maga Puella Lamiarium Nodoka
This is the most recent Negima cross I've sunk my teeth into it. It's an interesting mix, there are no Madoka characters in this, it's more of bringing the magical girl system of Madoka into the negima world without getting rid of the worlds normal magic. Definitely worth keeping an eye on.

And we finally find out why Nodoka's such a mary sue. She's the next Doctor.

I thought I'd take the time to share how much I enjoy Immi's Taken Day by Day. It's a Setsuna & Tsukuyomi pairing AU after chapter 290. The biggest positives, in my opinion, is that it's character-driven & deeply psychological, with both Setsuna & Tsukuyomi grappling with their wants, needs, logic, & desires. There are no real grammar or mechanical errors I notice & canon-wise, I'm happy it ignores all the magic world & Negi stuff.

Oh, right, it has a prequel, Liquid Heat. It delves into what Tsukuyomi might be thinking at some point.

I have no idea what's going on, but the writing's good. And it looks like there will be a big focus on Chisame, which is nice. She's one of my favorite characters.

Started reading Decadent Habits.

This is so weird. I'm not sure I want to follow this for multiple squicky reasons but it is like a train wreak that I can't stop looking at.

The instant I read the description, I knew to avoid it like the plague.

Very creepy Negima multiple incest fic that I would've preferred not to be reminded of.

Squick

And in chapter 6, the author goes out of the way to make it even more squicker. What the hell. I think I'll stop there.

Well, I have purged the fic from my mind. Not that it was very hard to do because I got confused with all the convoluted relationships.

Actually Decadent Habits has one redeeming feature. It starts off as a seemingly squicky fic to cater toward certain perverse fetishes. But then it continues on, and fairly realistically everything goes to serious hell.

By the end the squicky relationships basically lead to the emotional destruction of most of the characters. Most of the 3A girls bail and take off for parts unknown. even HARUNA gets disgusted by everything that happens, and transfers out of 3A and changes dorm rooms. By the end sex has destroyed multiple friendships, relationships and psyches. No happy harem or 60's free love stuff here.

So yeah in the end it starts deconstructing everything. So It goes from being squick (well still is squicky) to angst.

All in All though between the squick and the angst, its not something I've bothered reading all the way through.. to be honest I skipped most of the fic.

Sounds like a bit of a redeeming factor...but not enough that I will read it.
