I was sad. It started out with so much potential for being kinky pron, then turned into a depressing character deconstruction angstfest about 2/3 of the way through. Boner killer for sure.

Well, TBH, I liked the Christmas sequel. That one is pretty good and it has a very interesting version of Eva.

Something interesting actually came out of the Negima fandom on FFN called <a href='http://www.fanfiction.net/s/8438496/1/Going_Rogue' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>Going Rogue</a>.

Chamo is presented in canon as a pervert who occasionally is a sneaky black-market hustler... so what happens if you switch those traits around? Basically, the author figured Negi was entirely too naive for having an enormously perverted and generally street-smart familiar. Here he picks up a few of those traits. He's not overly precocious or anything, but is a fair bit more mischievous than his canon counterpart.

Too short to even begin to give a fuck yet.

Chapter two is up. It's good enough that I look forward to chapter three.

Hmm, too short to have an opinion on.

Seems to be less Lightning Bruiser Negi for a more Super Ninja Negi.

It's a logical path as long as Chamo has spells to teach. We know that Negi spent all of his time trying to learn new spells but came up with nearly nothing for his troubles. With a mentor actually willing to teach him magic he'd spend more time with Chamo.

But I'm going to have to drop this. If Negi wasn't so agile he'd have pencils protruding through his body. They were launched hard enough they would have likely left holes in his bones and killed him if they reached his internal organs.

No, not in a slapstick universe.

I'm sorry, I know its crack, but the entire thing is just too fucked up. The moment he wrote about MAKIE talking to Poison Ivy about the time the Joker disected a pregnant women just to explain where babies came from. I stopped reading it. That wasn't funny. None of this story is very funny.

Words cannot begin to described how bloody retarted I feel this thing is.

I also know Overmaster is a fanboy of The Joker. If what I heard was true he apparently got very upset when people on this one forum discussed Batman killing the Joker. He pretty much worships the psycho (okay that is bit of exaggeration, but still...). I get the Joker is a great villain, but having him adopt 3-A and raise them to be his demented daughters is just messed up.

This is just a fic where I'm very glad to support "Don't Like, Don't Read".
Considering I killed him off myself in a very undignified manner in Eternal Comedy, no, I don't worship him. I don't worship anyone, fictional or not. However, I am annoyed by the constant fanboy whining of several people who don't let the 'Batman should kill him alreadyyyyyy!' topic go, especially when that universe is full of others who could do it without ruining Batman's moral set (regardless on if you agree with it or not).

Since being messed up was half of the whole point of the fanfic, well, I'm glad to have succeeded up there. As for the other half, being funny while doing it, that depends on everyone's particular brand of sense of humor, so... (shrugs).

I was sad. It started out with so much potential for being kinky pron, then turned into a depressing character deconstruction angstfest about 2/3 of the way through. Boner killer for sure.
Again, and this comes from someone who pitched in with help for it, it's not a thing for everyone, either. Trust me, I was there with Darkenning through the creative proccess and I can give testimony of the care and effort he put into it. It truly was a labor of love for him, and I think it shows in the craft itself. Of course, anyone is free to find the subject matter itself odious, but his intention never was to merely titillate for the sake of itself.

I do think, as I stated in the FF.Net reviews for the My Hime sequel, the deconstruction went too far by then, as the Negima characters aren't recognizable as themselves by then. It's not even a matter of how depraved they became, but how unpleasant they became over time, and how the original Negima spirit was completely lost by then. But I can't say it was because of a lack of effort on his part- his vision and me simply happened to diverge widely at that point. Most likely, his is far more realistic in that regard, but I don't think Negima lends itself too well to realistic exhaustive deconstructions. When you do that, the basic premise falls apart, since it's as unrealistic as they come, and works better with a happy measure of Bellisario's Maxim.

Thanks for making a guy feel welcome. Very classy from you.

Of course, far from me to debate your all knowing, objective opinion on a fanfic's quality or lack thereof (although at your last post on it, you hadn't read it to make a solid, first hand guess on it, but I'll trust your clairvoyance powers), but please do allow me to bring to your attention, until a very short while ago, this board was closed to newcomers, and thus I couldn't express the right to defense everyone, even 'bad fanfic writers' had last time I checked.

Edit: I wrote that in frustration and pain, and it shows, I guess. While I don't think I should delete or alter it, I just... I just want to say I don't want any fights, right? If this isn't the place for me for whatever reason, I'll just leave the way I came, and sorry if I wasted anyone's time.

Just to say, I liked to apologize for insulting you and your story, I posted that after my initial reaction to it, and looking back feel embarrassed about it. The fic just really wasn't my cup of tea. I mean it had a dark sort of humor to it, but the scene with Makie went into squick territory for me and I just had to stop there.

I also don't have anything against the Batman universe and enjoyed BTAS. I also watched the Arkham Game Walkthroughs (I can't play them myself since I don't own the systems to play them on). Seriously, Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill just know how to really bring those characters to life and just make them fun to watch. I don't know why or how they just do.
