New Tenchi Muyo anime (sort of)

So apparently there's a new Tenchi Muyo series in the works. Set in the continuity of Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki, this is going to be a series of fifty five-minute shorts.

The article hints that these are going to be based around Kajishima's doujinshi up until now, which means that they'll likely be set sometimes in the future of the series.

This is certainly different from the usual format. That said, it's probably also for the best - after the third OVA series, there's really no way to present a credible antagonist anymore; it's probably best to focus on slice-of-life scenarios from here on out (which seem to be where Kajishima's heart is anyway...that and world-building, at least).

I've never really cared for short episodes, I prefer to watch stuff that would draw me in, and 5 minutes is too short.

Only ones to come to mind to do it even decently were the You're Under Arrest ones, and the Oh My mini Goddess ones.

This sounds like the first Star Wars Clone Wars series by Gennedy Tart. The guy that made Dexter and Samurai Jack.

Maybe if it does well enough, there'll be more.
