part of me really wants to buy it, but i hardly ever touch my psp these days. I sudder at the idea of trying to play a fighter on a PSP.

I really wish They would have put it out on Ps2 or as a PSN downloadable title.

It's not good, by the way. I tried it back when it was a doujin game for the pc, and it wasn't very good then. I don't think anything's changed.

Now if only Melty Blood Actress Again would come out on the psp with adhoc support...

Wait, what? When was it a doujin game?

Are you talking about Fatal/Fake? That's not Codes.

Avider's right, you're probably thinking of Fatal/Fake.

Fate/Unlimited Codes came out as a PS2 game at the beginning of the year, if not a little earlier, if my memory serves, and it's recently been ported to the PSP.

What I've seen has me a little worried though, apparently every character has an instant-kill combo.

You shouldn't worry about the instant-kill combo and more of the infinite combo.

Unless you mean them to be the same, since this game is really all about chaining together a never-ending series of combo until the opponent's health bar is depleted. (Which is why I will never get it, I suck with fighting game enough as it is.)

They know that fighting games do have some problems on the PSP due to inputs on the d-pad, but Fate/Unlimited does at least try to simplify things. Inputs are mostly done through double taps of a directional button I believe, quarter turns are not used.

Also, this isn't really a "new" game, just us getting a chance to play a game that was only over in Japan before.

You mean the PSP version or the PS2 version?

UC (as far as the PS2 version that I do own, at least) is as much an infinite combo game as Melty Blood. Which is to say that it doesn't really happen. You can get a lot of hits but it's pretty much impossible in the PS2 version to bring someone from full to zero in one combo (even Archer's ridiculously complex full-damage super cancel only takes off 3/4 at most).

The PSP port looks far more broken than that, which is honestly a little disappointing.

I've been playing the JP version, and I really like it. Not that I've played the original PS2 version to compare it with, but whatever. I'm going to buy the english version, both to support the franchise and because I enjoy the game.
