a.) Wrong color.

b.) What did you think? The loothogs triumph over, lets say, LORE, COMMON SENSE AND THE STORIES THAT MADE THE WARCRAFT UNIVERSE SO GREAT.

c.) Kael'Thas and Vashj died, too. Killing storyline characters - with only 25 people - is incredibly lame. They killed thrice that number of stronger foes alone.

Also, the developers have said that his "code" was so strong in-game that killing him made the beta crash, at one point. I didn't think he'd actually die.

meh, even in the RTS big name characters were killed by small groups of unnamed characters.

Of course Illidan dies, he's the final boss, what do you expect?

Shame I'm only LV45, I'd like to fight him, even in a fairly large group.

I sympathize with Illidan, he got screwed over, and it shows :p.

In an MMO, any character that is attackable can and will be killed.

Just for the bragging rights, if nothing else.

Well, fighting against a group of people with magic weapons, that know exactly what you are going to do is kind of hard.

Especially if they have already planned the entire battle...

Why do I suddenly get the image of a lol'ing gamer talking about looting the betrayers left ear and poor Illidan sits there without his ear, cursing the goddamn powergamers and their nefarious ear-looting ways :snigger:

Banish the thought! Though with Blizzard now of days, I can see it happening.

As it is, I'd dance on Illidan's grave. Or, perferibly, the collective grave of WC3 and WoW. WC3 may be a good game, but the story and and a few other things just... make me hate the games.

Though had Blizzard released their first cancelled game which I can not remember the title to, I may not hate WC3 as much as I do. <_< Wishful thinking most likely.

Mm.

If they can move from Starcraft: Ghost being a PC FPS, to being console exclusive, to cancelling it, they can do anything. ;)

Wasn't Blizzard even planning a point & click adventure based on the warcraft universe some time back? What happened to that?

That's the game I was refering to. They cancelled it without giving a reason to my knowledge. I learned this from my old gaming mags during a preview for WC3... the orginal WC3. <_<

Adventure story games were starting to lose their appeal at that time. While there could have been other factors, it's likely due to the market for such games dropping.

Didn't they turn the story into a novel, though? It was about Thrall's childhood and such.

If they did, I missed it and I'm glad. Over half of the WC novels that I've read aren't worth the hour or two I spent reading them, the other half left me with no reason to BUY them.

As for sales of adventure games, yes they did drop but that was because we kept on getting rehashs of older games with new titles. You know... the whole feeling like you've been there and done that?

Uhm... yeah?

I wasn't commenting on the fact of the reason for the market on adventure story games dropping, merely why I believe that the Blizzard game was abandoned.

Honestly though, I consider it a pity. While there were re-hashes, that's the same in EVERY genre, and even when it started to drop there were still a few awesome titles coming out (Grim Fandango, for one).

Oh... Sorry. I never paid much attention to the Adventure market. Though Grim Fandango did look quite entertaining, it was never put on shelves where I lived.

Edit: Forget about this edit, I tried to clear up my point but I can't think of a better way to say it.

blah...i hate that kael is shoved to the side in favor of illidan, kael and the highbourne/blood elves have a much more interesting feel and without all that emoness of illidan...seriously illidan is the sauske of the WC verse
