Nasuverse Not quite finished F/SN idea

#1
Mind you, this is a completely AU idea. But instead of Saber dying at the end of the series, she suffers a deep coma, with the two timelines merging and the Kingdom of Avalon surviving until the present day, but only Shirou, Tohsaka, Sakura, and Issei can tell the difference. And yes, I will refer in some to Saber in some sections of the fic as Her Royal Highness, Queen Arturia Pendragon. The story will begin in Avalon, and show Saber's complete recovery from her coma, as well as Shirou's complete transformation into Archer.

Wait, Saber originally died sometime in the 5th century, does that mean she was asleep for 1600 years? Why would she fall into a coma in the first place?

Also Shirou didn't turn into Archer overnight ,it took him years. How will you explain the sudden transformation in your story? What is Shirou doing in Avalon ?

Honestly, we'll need a lot more information if you want useful input from us .

As I said, I will include Shirou's complete transformation into Archer. I know it's going to take years for it to come to full fruition. Shirou's not going to be himself in one day and Archer the next. That would be completely irresponsible writing. As for Saber's comatose state, her long-term use of Excalibur and Avalon, even though neither are still with her, have built up a residual, though not indefinite, amount of mana in her blood and have thusly prevented her from dying. As for Shirou arriving in Avalon, as I said in my first post. The timelines have merged, with Avalon surviving to the present day and evolving technologically alongside other countries. But also, as I said, only Shirou, Tohsaka, Sakura, Ilya, and Issei notice the difference. This, along with other points in the early chapters, lead up to the arrival of Shirou and Co. in Avalon.

For some reason ,I'm still confused.

When exactly will the timelines merge ? At the end of the Grail War or later with Shirou And co. already in Great-Britain?The later would give Shirou time to become the man before things go wtf.

Saber's stasis is not possible the way you describe it,but only Nasuverse nazis will complain .

And , well, what's the plot ?Why is Issei included ?How do Saber recover?Details , man!

Perhaps merge was not the correct word. Instead, Avalon will continue and evolve alongside the nations of our current world.

There will not be one singular plot, every major character will tie their own thread into it as it moves along, but the main axis of the story is Shirou's transition into Archer.

I decided to include Issei as he resided within the Ryuudouji Temple where Caster, Assassin and Suzuki resided. I imagined him as having watched the final battle between Saber and Gilgamesh secretly from one of the temple's buildings. He will function mostly as documentarian and witness to the events of the story.

Saber's recovery will be long and painful, undergoing thousands of hours of physical therapy to restore her atrophied muscles.

...Uhm, my only real criticism is for this part:

the Kingdom of Avalon surviving until the present day
There is no Avalon.

Avalon is the scabbard, that is all. In the Nasuverse, there is no such thing as an island of Avalon. Hence, it's utterly impossible for the story to begin there, since it's not a location.

Besides that, why would Saber be suddenly treated as a woman, now? I'm not exactly against the thought, but unless there's an actual reason for it, I wouldn't do it based on that not that many people actual knew that Saber was female. In fact, the number of them could be counted on one hand, and Merlin also made sure they kept their mouths shut.

Quite right, I apologize for my mistake. I should have said that the story will begin in Camelot, rather than Avalon. And as for Saber's true identity as a female, that will be made a major point of contention in the story.

Ahhh... That makes a lot more sense.

Still, that makes things... very messy, as you're literally changing world history. To say that there WOULDN'T be a huge chain reaction from that is a bit much. It could be done, but unless you've got a VERY good grasp of world history, I don't really think it could be done justice.

Very, very messy. I wouldn't even try to touch upon it, personally. Glossing over it would be do-able, but kinda sloppy.

And as to Saber's identity, that's fine. So long as there is an actual reason for it, instead of 'oh, well, everyone knows that Saber's a girl now, lolz'.

Of course I plan to handle Saber's gender with more detail than that! Trust me, very few people in Camelot will accept Saber as a ruler, as a female. Camelot as I envision it is a very male-oriented nation with the truth about Saber's/Arthur's identity kept as one of the highest state secrets. The truth about her will turn Camelot upside down completely.

As for the world itself, many of the countries that we see today will not exist or have different names or have their boundaries significantly redrawn in such a way that it will leave Shirou and the others in awe.

Well, sounds like you have things planned out... Although, that begs the question of why it came out in the first place. Ah well.

And subsequently, they all fail their history classes.

I wish you luck in the endeavor, as it's not something I'd relish doing.

...

Damn it, I'm imagining a F/SA and FMA crossover.

That said...are you using the Anime plotline, or the Fate Path from the game?

This story is not a Fate/Fullmetal crossover. When I say 'Greed' in this context, I mean cheap, repulsive human greed.

And to answer your question, I'm following the F/SN animeverse.

... I can't be the only one who, upon reading that, had this thought: "All Hail Britannia!"

There is some basis in the original legend for this to work.

Arthur was mortally wounded in the final battle, but it is said that the king was taken to Avalon where they would sleep until England was in dire peril and needed a hero again.

Here's a thought, what if Saber (post Grail War 5) is sleeping inside Avalon inside of Shirou...and when Avalon is removed, she remains behind in Shirou. If he can just get enough mana...he can get her out....

I leave the ideas for mana transfer to my more hentai minded fellows here.
