On TFF RPG's

Just got a PM from Sidhe. Here's what she said and my response. I wanna know you guys' opinions:

Hi Ray!

If I remember correctly, the climax of Christmas Caper was supposed to cause echoes in the Infinitum going forward into the future (one might think of shadows from Amber, or echoes of stories and themes that keep repeating).? Several of the characters from the Ninja game were echoes/alternates, as that game was located at a distant future and world in the Infinitum.

I hope that helps.

Yo.

Hm. While its nice to know at least one of the background events, the problem is that not one of us knows how the ultimate character settings would be, which villains would survive, the final outcome (victory or defeat), etc.

Hell, we don't even know what happens to Zen or Ei-chan, and seeing as their ancestors/clones/alter-egos/omgwtftentacles Zeni and Eterna get carted off at the beginning of the new RP (in my oh, so clever and perfectly unnoticeable and stealthy attempt at trying to fit Zeni's own inactivity at TFF into the story), that's a pretty big stumbling block.

Honestly, with such a huge hole in our knowledge of the setting the only real thing we've got going for us is that the free-form format gives our characters a lot of pliableness - we can basically change them at will without much consequence in order for them to fit a modified setting. The problem, though, is that there barely is a setting to begin with.

Hm.

Go ahead but please pay tribute to the classic TF2 Pyro and his badass taunts somewhere in your story posts when you write them up.

You don't play Team Fortress 2? It's only a helluva cartoonish funny first person shooting game with lots of guts, blood and screams of death. And the Pyro burns stuff of course...

Standard Equipment: Flamethrower (with projectile deflection ability), Shotgun, Fire Axe
Unlockable Equipment: Backburner (loses projectile deflection ability and does slightly less damage when you flame an enemy directly but does 100% critical damage when you flame from behind), Flare Gun (long distance weapon that lights enemies up if your bullet hits), Axetinguisher (does critical damage on opponents that are lit up).

Oh... and Hadouken Taunt kills instantly.

Ah, FPS... Never been a fan of those. People always sneak up behind me... it's made me paranoid... :ph43r:

More of a third person guy myself. Because then I know if there's someone behind me about to slit my throat. Screw Realism.

Although this Pyro intrigues me...

I've been around. Mostly in Zero's Bleach RPG, though I haven't been able to do much since half the trouts are still gone. Came too late to join the other TFF ones though.

Oh, and the Pyro wins. Though I think I can't understand him under the mask, but his heart truely speaks out to me. :sisi:

First: I can't believe that I'm part of the inspiration for an RPG. Get Eisner some good knocks for me, eh?

Second: I don't particularly want to play, but I have a scene in mind where NGD, Luthorne and I are coming back from the burning ruins of Tokyo/Tokyo-3/Crystal Tokyo/Neo Tokyo/whatever the Tokyo equivalent is in the TFF-verse, only to be interrupted with urgent dispatches and orders to fight the good fight.

And third:
Oh, and the Pyro wins. Though I think I can't understand him under the mask, but his heart truely speaks out to me. :sisi:
Demoman is cooler.

... At this rate I'm going to have to buy this. And I lothe first person shooters.

Oh, and gots a plan for my avatar of doom. Though I need to now the playing field these people are at from the start. Don't want to be too strong, but don't want to be too weak either. But I'm aiming for the height of Fire GAR.

I'll go over things for you. And you can see my profile when I put it up for a fairly appropriate Combat oriented badass.

You CAN have side characters, generally it's a limited amount to prevent cluster fuckery though.

I think in Caper it's 3 or 4, although it gradually increased over time to it's current position.

What's the limit this time Ray?

Also, can I has my Spaceship?

Well ultimately the yaoists were supposed to be destroyed, and Zeni and Eterna's chars would all leave everyone behind.

As for another rpg, I say a complete restart would be best.

Oh god... thirty seconds of dazing off in class, and I came up with the most insane mixmatch Fire Based offensive user I could ever have come up with... and some of the abilities actually mesh, despite how drastically different the series...

He'll have to start off small though... really small... because he'll be approaching Fire God by the time he realizes all the crap he's packing isn't just junk...

Honestly, I agree with this. At least I won't have to rape the plot I already put up to make it work. >_>

I'm thinking that we'd go on a basis of 1 NPC per person if we restart, pushing the limit up to 2 NPCs as the RPG develops.

As for the Spaceship, I'm of the opinion that character's can have everything, as long as we follow the "don't go all DBZ" rule to avoid retardedness.

Actually, I might as well put the rules up to avoid confusion:

Zeni said:
-You play as yourself. You can use your own nickname on the board. eg. I'll be playing as 'Zenithos' and I can refer to myself as 'Zeni' as most people call me in this forum.

- Each and every player must stay in groups of at least 4 people whenever possible, unless a solo is completely necessary. This will hopefully prevent fractured storylines. If possible, stay as one big group whenever possible.

- Please be sensible with your character power-ups. While having powers is fine, don't go all DBZ....at least until the final battle. tongue.gif

- You will be allowed one minor character to accompany you. Please be sure to post a pic and a short description. It could be an apprentice you're training up, a servant, a catgirl you found in a box beside the street, a best friend, a conscience, a pokemon, a digimon, a persona...whatever, as long as it's just ONE.

- Killing off other PCs is fine, off course. But if you see somebody dead please try to introduce a plot device that would somehow revive the person. Phoenix Downs, Elixirs, T-viruses...you name it.

- There is absolutely no need to maintain an air of formality or seriousness. Read: Hijinks and Comedy are highly encouraged.

- You are allowed to incorporate other PCs into your posts and write in actions and dialogues for them, as long as you keep them in character. If the PC's owner disagrees then please be courteous and edit the offending post. (so far, no such thing has happened as we bonk each other on the head so often it's become quite a fun routine).
Honestly, I don't see any need to change them, as they worked wonderfully in the past games.

I'm just about done with writing out the Signup thread. Any last minute objections before we start?

Nope, I'll just rewrite things a bit to make my character fit in the restart.
Alrighty, then.

Well, it's been a while and no one else besides you has posted, so I guess I'll just go ahead.

Well, just as a note, I edited some things:

-outfit.
-spells and descriptions.
-theme song (not too sure on this).

oh well.

EDIT: that was fast.

*smiles and holds up the 'Villan Wanted' sign* I hear you're looking for someone to do evil, yes?

While I'm by no means a veteran of the TFF RPG circle, one thing I'm quite good at is thinking outside the traditional evil box. Who's to say that the Yaoi fanatics don't have mercs of their own, to help dissuade small assault groups like this?

I won't wave the Yaoi flag, but I will happily take their money and cause much rue amongst our intrepid heroes! :evil2:
