Don't you recall?? They got blown away by Bartholomew Kuma, a Shichibukai KNOWN for asking people where they want to be sent (he did so to Perona back at Thriller Bark).
Furthermore, he probably has a real respect for Zoro, and by extension Luffy and the rest of the Straw Hats.? Sending them places where they could level up isn't that surprising.
Once a pirate, always a pirate.? But also, if Kuma knows about any World Government Crimes?, his self-professed Morals of Justice? might encourage him to aid the people who can right those wrongs.

It could come with a twist but until then...
I just don't like hand-out power-ups, and they've already found themselves in some of the characters hands in past chapters. It hasn't been too shifting since it's with the less combat oriented character(or least powerful) but now it's leading toward upping the powerhouses outside of the routine that has come to be the norm. I can forgive them, but I'll pout as it's not of my preference, and believe that Oda will keep them temporary or realistically( Ha, rubberman and living
skeleton) limited by drawbacks. But I suppose these Next Level types, that will apparently come in droves in the New World, are a decent balance.
The point on Kuma seems likely and it's something I'd like to see. With the rogue or at least rebelling Shichibukai Jinbei already causing trouble, possibly having Kuma come to aid the fight against the WG would be impressive. Though I think those Morals of Justice? are likely going to have him turn himself away from the conflict once it starts, to wait for his own sentencing, or punish himself. I wonder where he would like to go?
@Bucks: It has always been entertaining. :sisi:
