True, true. Trying to weave a love relationship into the story could potentially ruin it. Not to say that I wouldn't want to see one happen, it's just that more needs to be done before the prospect of one could enter the equation.
Well, it looks like love may become a part of One Piece, as apparently Hebihime has the disease known as Love Sickness. <_<

Still this could be interesting, as if it pans out as I think it could (Hebihime rebelling against the World Government, her past being revealed, and joining the Strawhats.) It would allow Luffy to learn how to use the Power of The King effectively.

Well, this ought to be interesting at least.

New OP Chapter is out at Onemanga!!!! My god! A fatal disease has struck the empress! What are you going to do LUFFY!? :)

But seriously, new developements that I must say may add a bit of future comedic value into the mix and I have to say I am looking forward to. Forward! HOOOOO!

Oh Luffy you amazing man.

"Lovesickness," ha ha what an amazing disease Hebihime suffers from.

But putting that aside, there is some serious trouble on the horizon. I wonder just how Luffy will get his brother out of his situation.

Finally we may be able to see what exactly is Haki. I don't have the raws so I don't know what kanji it may be composed of so I don't have a clue to what it is. I'm guessing it has something to do with Ki. Hakki (Ki emission) maybe? I dunno.

I'm also guessing that the days it takes to go to the gaol would be filled with scenes where Hancock shows Luffy how to harness Haki. Kinda bring him closer to Silvers Raleigh's level. heheh I can't wait...

Luffy is a magnificent bastard.

I did notice that Shabondy is rather close to Marine HQ. How big do you think the chance is that the rest of the Straw Hats join up with Luffy there?

Anyone else have the sudden image of Zoro pulling a Ryouga and ending up at the Gaol with Luffy and no idea whatsoever how he got there?

I always thought that Luffy/Nami was a good pairing myself. Luffy seems to place the most trust in her of anyone.

I don't really think calling Sanji by -kun means anything, does she use -san for everyone else or something? I figure she just humors Sanji because she gains a lot by manipulating him, and that is a cheap way to build influence.

... Oh wow. One Piece has steadily achieved epic win over the last batch of chapters since this arc started, and it just keeps coming.

Though I worry about the 'dying' bit. Love killed the previous queens? That sounds kinda serious... especially given how retarded Luffy is.

Edit: And though I see the serious neccesity of the request, the other two do raise good points. He's kinda taking advantage of their good graces, though granted he has no clue about it. I only hope things end well, but I find it unlikely. As long as he makes it up in some way it should be fine I guess though...

In terms of trust, Luffy trusts Nami quite a bit. But Zoro on the other hand will rank as the highest on the list as far as trust goes.

Riker is number 1 to Picard

as

Zoro is Number 1 to Luffy.

Nay, only the hot chicks that happen to be his enemies. All recall Alvida, who magically turned hot after being owned by Luffy, and then decided she'd make him his.

Man, that confused him alright.

I suppose he turned Robin too, though not to the degree that you could describe it as love... :hmm:

I see that as more a strong admiration then love. Heck, I'd admire the gal that topples a government installation and causes millions in property damage just to save my ass.

I'd follow that person to Hell and siege the gates of Heaven afterward. But I'm odd like that.

Not really. I'd do so as well.

I was talking more before that, with the whole 'Saving her from the collapsing ruins' bit, and then she decides to join him as revenge. Althogh I completely agree on the fact that you can't really call it love.

God the CP9 arc was awesome...

Considering how popular One Piece is there really isn't very much in the way of fanfiction for it. Does anyone else think that this is because it is so awesome as it is that no one wants it any other way?

One Piece has a MASSIVE amount of popularity. In Japan. Frankly speaking here it's usually a weird choice. One Piece does basically two things, Random Humor and Fight scenes. They do them completely well (The Humor is decent, but the fight scenes REALLY shine. Srsly), but generally everything else is usually skimped on, at times done decently, and at other times poorly. Character Development is mostly nonexistant, the plot is usually very simple (Again, the CP9 arc was utterly awesome for this), and when you look purely at the characters the villains are somewhat lacking.

One Piece is frankly a manga you cannot take seriously. The world itself is plain weird, and that's nothing to say about how the characters jump around so randomly in characterization, and generally hold to certain archtypes all the time. If I were so inclined I could go into the utter stupidity of some of the designs, but frankly I don't because I'm perfectly aware of the fact that this was the way the author intended. That usually doesn't catch with most people, and the art style is quirky in and of itself. Basically the Japanese eat it up, while most here drop it pretty early.

To draw a certain parallel, there's another manga that takes nothing seriously, and is basically completely a gag manga. Bobobo bobobobo. I utterly loathe it, but others can find it entertaining because they manage to not take that load of crap seriously. I'm generally the type to look to deeply into things, which is why I can't stand that thing...

One Piece passes under my radar because the fight scenes are so Utterly Awesome that it makes up for the gag humor. Hence why I can still follow it. Plus it's one of the few manga I know that doesn't go into training arcs, which I utterly loathe. The abilities are well done without them, though the power boost in the CP9 arc for the top 3 caused me to raise an eyebrow. Those came out of nowhere (I could go into monster... but that was designed to come out of nowhere...).

Also I reread this chapter and found it lulzy that the old woman figured out what was wrong by saying "Tommorow Morning", and noticed her writhe in agony. Apparently seperation is bad. New Crewmate? That would be awesome. Sanji would weep.

Hmm one thing I just though about...will we actually get to see the Fleet Admiral Sengoku fight in the upcoming Arc and finally see Admiral Akainu?

Wow... One Piece simply does not Fail in awesomeness. The best world. The best characters. The fights. The best gag comedy. And... the best fillers (in the anime). Now, the best unexpected (Maybe not) twists!

-two events happened in this chapter that sent shivers down my spine.

1st- declaration to invade the marine execution and save Ace.
2nd- that bit at the end.

-Have you ever seen anyone blush like that in this Manga?!?!?! LAWL! >.<
-ANother thing, i hope this opens up the gates for this pairing in fanfiction. I'm definitely going to have a crack at it.

one other bit....I just considered if Luffy does go ahead and invade Impel Down or the holy city and is sucessful how will this look to the WG that a pirate has successfully invaded two of their most secure sites and caused havoc?

I find it funny, re-reading the previous chapters, that Admiral Kizaru kinda reminds me of Onizuka from GTO fame. Heh and I agree with NGD that One Piece does two things very well. Humor and Fight scenes. Humor done well enough (it's funnier in Japanese and if you are good enough in the Japanese language to get it) but the fight scenes are utter awesome. Characterisations are only done decently, just to give you enough of a background on their characters but even then sometimes they have odd characterisation inconsistencies (not big though. Very small. Usually ignored in lieu of the awesome fight scenes).

I love it all the same though because slowly, as Luffy explores more of the world, you too discover a wacky world of excitement and adventure.

I figured it was because of what the abomination known ad 4kids dub that caused the lack of a fanbase.

It's hard to find good OP Fanfiction. The number of fanfics for a certain series is linked to how popular the anime or manga is. There are fanfics but they are not in English or any western language. The fuel for ff writers are fans of the series who would enjoy their work. No large fans means no large motivation to write though I hope someday someone would light the match that would start the burning flames of enthusiasm (close cousin to Burning Flames of Youth) to write for this series and lure more people to like this series and begin the cycle.
