One Prince, Many Princesses

Just a thought I had while looking back over some old Disney films, and I wanted to toss it out there.

Did you ever notice how a lot of the leading men in Disney movies (particularly ones where the main role was a young woman) look very much alike? Well, what if they were the same person. What if the guy from The Little Mermaid, Snow White, and Cinderella (to name a few) was the same guy every time.

Possible reasons for this could be that he's trying to amass a harem of the finest women in the land, and (perhaps with the evil Queen's magic mirror from Snow White) is using magic to track them all down. Or maybe it's something more esoteric, and he's a Moorcock-esque Eternal Prince, being reborn over and over to find and lose his Eternal Princess in each life.

So many guys who look (and act) that much alike must have some sort of commonality.

Interesting. I've heard it suggested before, due to the fact that at least three of those princes are called 'Prince Charming', both in the movies, and, IIRC, in the source material. In the Fables comic, he's a master womanizer with at least three previous wives (Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, and Cinderella), although he seems to genuinely love them, at least a little. That version only wishes he could have a harem.

Perhaps the Prince is really the Sultan Aladdin? He'd actually have a good reason for collecting them, then.

Sure. Heck, my understanding was that, when you post an idea in its appropriate Ideas section, you're releasing it to anybody who wants to use it for a fic of theirs.

Just make sure to give me a shout-out when you write it. ;)

No problem. Thanks!

Heh, I wanted to comment on Fables, but was beaten to it. Very nifty comic book, though I've been a bit out of touch with it since wherever they had someone going up into the clouds to talk to giants.

As Prince Charon said though, you've been beaten to the idea, Alzrius. At the very least, by Bill Willingham (creator/writer of Fables), if not someone else before him.
