It was just announced by the Administrator on Anifics.

Philip Mak died.

I made a post asking how or from what, but no response yet.

Hmm...didn't know the guy personally, but...my condolences to any family he left behind.

This is the same guy who ran The Shoujo-Ai Archive, right? IIRC he would be in his late 20's or very early 30's. How sad.

Do you have any details? I can't access anifics.com or any of its hosted websites now. The connection keeps timing-out.

According to Shoujo-Ai Forum, he died of an apparent cerebral hemorrhage.

Very sudden, and, while I personally don't know him, it is sad nonetheless.

Yikes... My condolences to his family and friends, while I didn't know him myself.

I'd like to pass my condolences on just as well.

How old was he? Late 20's to early 30's? It's a sad way to go, especially so young.

Is he that young? The archive seems to have been around for quite a while...

Cerebral hemorrhage...what a way to go... :(

My condolences as well.

While probably an unexpected way to die, it was most likely quite swift, with little suffering. It would be one of the ways I would want to go if I ever had the choice.

May his soul find bountiful libraries of good fanfic, manga and anime in the afterlife.

My condolences to your family as well, ttestagr.

I hope that he/she did not suffer much and that your family was able to bear up under the shock.

It was tough. He was young, only in his thirties. Didn't really get to interact with him at the end either, since he was in a coma by the time we even heard about it.

My condolences to you TT, losing family is never easy. The closer they are, the harder it becomes.

While cliche, times does heal the wounds. Try to remember the good times, and be happy for the person that, while taken from you, isn't suffering anymore. I have witnessed far too many slow miserable deaths of close family members, and so was happy for them when they finally found release.

This time is a mourning not just for those that died, but for those left behind to pick up the pieces. If you believe in the afterlife, then they will always be with you in spirit, and can derive comfort from that and be able to move on.
