The story is about a boy named Bale Anderson who witnesses his best friends and love get killed by a terrorist attack in Veilstone. The criminals get off free due to lack of evidence, and sends Bale down a dark path of revenge against ALL criminals and terrorists at any costs. He is so driven he leaves his dependent mentally retarded mother behind(she eventually commits suicide) as he only takes his own Shinx and his deceased friends Larvaitar and Ralts.
