This is the OC thread for the next RP. Techinically we'll be doing it at a unknown date possibly pretty soon. This is for collecting the mechanics and keeping track of your character sheets.

Demjou is the CoGM and will be posting mechanics here.

Classes

Trainers are by and far the most common of those who work with Pokemon, living their lives in a myriad of ways, they start their journeys with a visit to a figure of authority to receive their first partner and a PokeDex. As time goes on, many trainers decide to focus on certain types and become specialists, while others find jobs that their partners can assist them in. Some turn to researching, and others never stop their wandering and training.

Trainer +2 to pokemon and rare pokemon spotcheck, gains +2 every 5 months, max of +10
+5 bonus to PokeBall Catch
1.1X Happiness modifier
1.1XP modifier, 1.2/1.25 by time spotcheck maxes out, Training sessions only

Prestige Classes:Researcher, Specialist, Various Jobs

Watchers are those who prefer to study Pokemon in their natural habitats and search out rare variations such as the illusive shiny phenomenon, or attempt to decipher the reasons behind various behaviors both wild and domestic. It is rare to see a Watcher catch a pokemon simply for the sake of catching it, and it is for this reason that Watchers tend to be the ones to discover such rare examples of Pokemon such as the always traveling Crystal Onix.

Watcher +1 to Shiny/Non Native check, gains +1 every 5 months, max of +5
Starts with a weekly stipend of 400+1d6*100, lasts 3 months.
+3 to Encounter and Luck check
Grows at +2 every 4 months, Max of +9

Prestige Classes:Researcher, Photographer,Breeder

Explorers are a group considered somewhat odd by both Watchers and Trainers alike. They spend their time not in search of Pokemon, but in search of history, both new and old. They desire to unravel the legends of such ancients as Pokelantis, even as they explore and discover new lands and hidden secrets of the forests and mountains. Indeed, the only things they share with Trainers or Watchers, is a love of adventure, and a desire to find something that will leave their mark on history.

Explorer +2 to item spotcheck, Gains +2 every 5 months, max +10
+1 to rare item modifier, gains +1 every 5 months, max +5
2%chance to find interesting areas when exploring known areas. Gains 1% every 6 Months, max 5%

Prestige Classes:Legendary Hunter, Jack of all Trades, Specialist

Looking back at the previous RP, we've made several changes to this one.

Among these are changes to how you find mons in each route, what mons you can find, along with tweaks to both the starter selection process and the trainer fights.

We've also done a good amount of work to help circumvent various roadblocks from the games themselves, such as the SS Anne and Cut roadblock.

Previously, when searching for a mon, regardless of if it was a common pidgey or a rare mewtwo, you would roll, and that roll would determine if you found it or not. We've thrown that out the window, and watched it make a large splatter on impact.

Now, you simply roll when you search to determine if you get a rare encounter or not. If your just searching for say a Pidgey? Congrats, you find and catch a Pidgey. Any mon with a encounter rate of greater then 10% for a route is considered non-rare, and as such can be caught without GM interference.

Trainers for a route are done via GM still, but will not be posted like before. We'll do trainer runs per route on a request basis.

Once a mon is caught, a GM will walk you through the stat setting process, for all common and uncommon mons. Rare encounters are still run by GM on a encounter by encounter basis.

Closing this post with a warning. Do not expect the Gym Leaders to be easy. Do not expect them to play fair. Do not expect the Gym Trainers to be much better. And Do not Fuck with Professor Motherfucking Oak.
