I realize that this is off-topic, but right now I can't help but think that Naruto and Sasuke, stuck in an eternity trying to kill each other - reincarnating into different lives, different places, different worlds... but they keep getting drawn together, clashing against each other, dancing the same dance, The Danse Macabre, over and over and over and over again - is freaking epic.
Thing is, for it to be effective, Sakura would have be reincarnated too, otherwise, Naruto's promise is null if there is no Sakura for him to bring Sasuke back to.
Somehow, I doubt Tatsuki/Rukia/whoever would want Sad Clown boy, as she'd have had more than enough lifetime to get over him.
Heh.....I would enjoy, to see Ulquiorra's past life coming to the fore.....anyone can imagine Aizen's face as his Zanpakuto gets Pwned by the Deusexmachingan? Or getting introduced to Tsukiyomi, what given the nature of Hueco Mundo, may be even MORE deadly? After all, unlike Ulquiorra, Sasuke HATES to be the underdog, or to be the pastiche of someone....

That's irrelevant.

Ichigo and Ulquiorra weren't best friends before Ulquiorra betrayed their home and left in this story, either.

What I was trying to say is that for those two to be reincarnated due to Naruto's promise, Sakura would have to be too. That doesn't mean they'd have the same relationship in every reincarnation, just that they'd all be together.
I may be wrong, but I got the impression that Revanant Dragoon was referring to those two souls being drawn to clash and fight each other in each successive lifetime, essentially throughout time and space, for eternity. The promise to sakura has nothin' to do with it--they wouldn't be/have the same personas (i.e., the souls drawn to fight in each life in their new reincarnation or self, not 'Sasuke' and 'Naruto' specifically, and not necessarily doing the same thing every time).

Oh i know, but on cliche and cheesy TFF routine style, i tend to thoroughly ignore it.... :sisi: :snigger: <_<

And if they have been clashing through nearly countless incarnations.....oh well.....truly an Endless Waltz indeed... ;)

I think you mean he claimed to be the Shinigami. As in The Shinigami, not A Shinigami.

It didn't take long for dozens of Ichigos all wielding a Zangetsu of their own to overwhelm Ulquiorra, even they did tend to disperse into a cloud of smoke atfer one his from the Espada. Although the less said about Ichigo's decision to stick the real Zangetsu somewhere unpleasant while screaming "Sennen Goroshi" the better.

Quite honestly Ishida, who looked on in shock at the action, didn't know if the act itself or the fact Orihime seemed perfectly fine with it bothered him more.

Either way it was a matter of a minute or two before a beaten and unconscious Arrancar was at the feet of the three high school students.

"Do I even want to know what that was, Kurosaki?" Ishida asked as the blonde took a moment to catch his breath, his face alight with a smile not seen since before Masaki's death when he was nine.

"Just working out some issues with the sad clown, Uryuu. And remembering a few things I had forgotten a long time ago," Ichigo responded with a shrug.

And further conversation was cut short as Orihime let out a relieved cry of "Kurosaki-kun!" before she rushed over and hugged him.

"You know Ichigo, you can be really troublesome sometimes," Ishida commented after taking a moment to push his glasses back into place.

Ichigo gave the boy a nostalgic grin as he thought of a father and son with distinctive pineapple-like haircuts and replied, "Yeah. I've been told that a time or two. Doesn't mean I won't protect me friends though. 'Tebayo."

Ishida could only shake his head and shrug this off as more typical Kurosaki strangeness as Orihime let Ichigo go finally and began to blush a bit.

"Are you ready to get out of here, hime-chan" Ichigo asked with a kind smile.

There were tears of happiness in the corners of Orihime's eyes as she responded with a muted nod, her cheeks still alight with a demure blush.

Ichigo smiled encouragingly at her as he reached down and hefted the insensate body of Ulquiorra over his shoulder.

"Ichigo, what are you doing? Why are you bringing that defeated Arrancar with us?" Uryuu demanded, his face a mask of confusion.

"Got a promise to keep, although I don't really know how since I don't know where she is. But in the meantime I know just where to keep clown-boy. I think he'll have a special appreciation for it..." Ichigo replied with a vulpine grin.

*****

Ulquiorra woke the next day with a splitting headache, a reiatsu restraining collar around his neck, and a distinct mass of pink hair in front of him. Oh Kami-sama no. It couldn't be, the Espada thought to himself in terror as he contemplated an eternity of pink-haired Uchiha babie-er Espada spawn.

"Yay! The clown Ichii-kun got me for my birthday is awake, Ken-chan. Juggle for me sad-clown-san. Or make balloon animals. Oh and try some of this cotton-candy Ichii-kun brought from a place called the carnival. It's really sweet. I think it might be pure sugar. <Giggle.>" Yachiru declared a a rate of speed that seemed inhuman.

Ulquiorra's cries of horror and anguish could be heard from all over the whole of the false Karakura town that day.

And here I was hoping he'd stuff him in his closet. Because you know Rukia's going to move back in there once the trip's over.

Wait, wasn't the promise to bring Sasuke back to Konoha? Sakura doesn't need to be in the picture. Now if he can just figure out where Konoha is.

Depends on your point of view. Konoha itself is dust by now, not even ruins would really remain since it relied on wood construction. You could argue that the promise was to bring him home, but trying to take him to Sakura's reincarnation is more plausible. If you can call and endless search throug Rukongai anf the living world to find her soul, who most likely has no idea who they are, plausible.

Which I don't. Just bring him back to the ruins then lock him in a closet with Rukia.

When he took the time to contemplate life it still amazed Ichigo where he could find similarities between who he was once and he he was now. His nakama were similar in many ways to Naruto's. Granted they weren't the SAME people as far as he could tell, but they still reminded him of the loved ones the his former incarnation had left behind in death.

Orihime's affection to him reminded him a great deal of Hinata's affection for, well, him too technically. Her... chakra reserves were pretty similar to Hinata's as well.

Chad reminded him a great deal of Shino. Quiet, reliable, and willing to do what it took to protect his friends no matter what.

Ichigo smirked as he wondered if that made Uryuu the Kiba of the group, although he truthfully reminded Ichigo more of an unholy cross between Shikamaru and that bastard Kabuto.

Yoruichi, much to a sour look that Ichigo received for the other day when he mentioned it to her, reminded him of Naruto's Baachan, Tsunade. Well okay, you could draw parallels to Rangiku there too in bust size and sake consumption (not that Yoruichi was lacking in the former) but her status as a female mentor that he cared for and could kick his ass made Ichigo think of Tsunade more than physical looks did.

Which, he supposed, made Urahara like Jiraiya to him. He had trained him. He seemed way too laid back and harmless for what he was really capable of. And it would be easy to see him giggling like a pervert while taking notes in a notebook. Hell geta-boshi had even made Kon, who was like Jiraiya's libido and ability to act like a fool distilled into a single pill.

Tatsuki could be so scary beating on that pervert Chizuru that Ichigo almost called her "Sakura-chan" the other day by mistake.

And thinking of Sakura brought him back to his current problem, namely his promise. Letting Yachiru play with Ulquiorra was all well and good, but Ichigo still felt like he had to take the bastard home. The only problem was Konoha was destroyed. Hell the age of shinobi as Ichigo knew them died before the start of modern civilization in Mesopotamia. Konoha itself was probably a patch of overgrown forest somewhere in the wilds of Southern China. Not even ruins of the buildings would remain of Naruto's home. So was there really anywhere to bring the bastard home to after all this time?

Hell his promise always had more to do with bringing Sasuke back to Sakura than it did bringing him to Konoha. Should he, Ichigo, try to find Sakura's soul instead? She didn't have anything like the fox. The chances of her knowing either of them were pretty much nill.

It was all just so confusing.

Oh well, in the end, supposed it would all work itself out. He would figure out where to take Sasuke's hollow-turned-Arrancar once Aizen was dead.

And from deep within him a certain former Kyuubi no Yoko, now seemingly bound eternally as the dark half of Ichigo's soul chuckled. It would be good to think up more ways to torture the former Uchiha. That would teach the bastard to try to subdue him in the brat's mind. He wasn't so high and might without his fucking Sharingan, was he?

I assume I hadn't been reading close enough to notice the nature behind this crossover, but having gotten it now, I have to say it's pretty clever... and it does play in well with Bleach's themes of death and moving on... (Sort of anyway)

Ichigo just stared at his right hand. He could hardly believe it was all over. Aizen was defeated, the Arrancar matters were settled (except for Ulquiorra who was restrained in a special cell courtesy of Urahara and Yoruichi) and Ichigo... was powerless. He had sacraficed all of his spiritual powers to ensure Aizen was stopped and now he was no more spiritually aware than the average human.

Only, he wasn't as powerless as everyone thought, it seemed. His hand current held a swirling ball of energy capable of felling opponents capable of superhuman efforts. The Rasengan. The jutsu created by his past incarnation's father, taught to Ichigo's former self by his former godfather, and refined beyond reason by Ichigo's former self.

Most everyone just assumed that the strange powers from a past life Ichigo had begun to develop at the end of the war were just extentions of his Shinigami and Hollow powers. Obviously, they had been mistaken.

"Well at least I'm not defeseless. Doesn't make it any easier when I can't even see the sad-clown bastard now and for all I know Sakura is roaming around Rukongai somewhere with no memory of either of us," Ichigo muttered as he allowed the charkra construct to dissipate.

It was strange now that Ichigo had time to think about it, but he did not feel particularly overwhelmed with his newfound status as a "civilian." If anything it gave him time to explore his former self without just turning himself into Naruto 2.0. He had ne burning desire to bring peave to the neation or become Prime Minister in place of Hokage. All he felt was a need to stand by his friends and protect them. Granted, that was harder now when most of the threats they faced he could no longer even see, but that wasn't going to slow him down. After all, they were nakama.

With a disturbingly fox-like smirk Ichigo moved his hands into a familiar cross-chaped sign as half a dozen Kage Bunshins appeared with telltale clouds of smoke. "You know the drill guys. Two on Uryuu, one each on Chad, Orihime, and Tatsuki. One of you watches the house while I make a sweep of the town. If anything happens dispell yourself."

And with that a ninja of Konohagakure patrolled the town of Karakura, looking for threats both spiritual and mundane that dared to threaten his friends. He would protect them. That was his nature.

And deep within Ichigo, a bone-white reverse of his Shinigami self gave a dark grin as he began to glow faintly red. He would never be rid of the the brat, but at least now they could finish setting the stage for things to come. After all, it was only a matter of tine until the rest of the kid re-emerged. If Isshin could regain hsi power just from exposure to Ichigo, then having the former Kyuubi no Kitsune within him would recharge Ichigo in record time.
