In the Sailor Moon universe did the characters have the same name in the past while on the Moon and in present day on earth?

No, they had different names. Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Kamen in the present are Usagi and Mamoru. In the past they were Serenity and Endymion. I don't know what the other Senshi's past names are.


(In the crappy dub, they kept them the same because they thought viewers were mentally deficient and couldn't deal with them being dead and reincarnated. So they were just 'transported' to earth in the future with their memories erased :lonegunman: *vomits*)

Thanks for the info, now i need to think up names it seems, unless all the characters have already been given names in the past that i could look up somewhere.

fanon tends to give the past senshi names in keeping with the romanticism of their guardian planets... but nothing is officially set in stone, some authors use the given name and change the last name, others change the name completely; you can field this one, or read a few fics and contact the authors if you like certain names

Quite likely seeing that in Crystal Tokyo they were addressed by the senshi names. *Look at Pluto for one.*
