And after some testing, I think I've re-created the issue in the above post. At a bare minimum, to 'hide' your post you need to quote 3 people and remove the ending quote from the first one. Using these quotes,
Isn't enough to re-create the problem. As far as I can tell you need to use these,
To see what I mean, just 'reply' to the hidden post above. You can see the matter for yourself.
Now, as to WHY this is happening, I can't say. What I do know is that its a server-side issue and not something like the web-browser rendering the text invisible. If you take 'view source', you'll see that the content itself has NOT been sent from the server (at least, I couldn't find it. Then again, I'm no HTML expert...).

What do you see when you push the 'reply' button? Shouldn't the stuff be quoted or something?

To check if this is some kind of 'user' issue I made the following account;
chronodekar_sockpuppet
And while I can't see the problematic post, if I hit the 'quote' button (under default theme) I can see the message in the message window that comes up.

It seems to be a problem on our host's end. I managed to re-create the issue on their general support board as well. You can see the thread here,
