I got to thinking an I don't think there are any Ranma discworld fanfics. so i'm placeing this Challange for folks here too come up with some. They could be short fic or long ones, Crack or noncrack, or anything you can come up with. You can have it set anywhere during the Discworld books or the Ranma manga.

How would Saffron React too meeting Rincewind's Luggage?

What would happen if Ranma ended up in Anhk-mopork?

Will Death to try an catch Happosai?

What about Colonge meeting Granny Weatherwax?

Let's your minds go wild and let's see what will be born.

Hmm...

The colors of magic - Ranma replaces Twoflower. How will Rincewind deal with a tourist who will be able to fight most of the dangers?
Or: Twoflower visits Nerima - how will the Nerimans deal with Luggage?

Equal Rites: How will the wizards and witches deal with a gender-bending martial artist trying to learn magic to get home?

Sourcery: The Sourcerer visits Nerima - what will be left standing?

Wyrd Sisters: The witches give the prince to a wandering martial artist. How will Ranma act when his heritage is revealed?

Mort: Ranma replaces Mort - he is both stupid and heroic enough. It would't change the plot at all.

Pyramids: see Mort.

Moving Pictures: see Pyramids.

Reaper Man: What kind of things will be animated by the life force in Nerima? Will anyone notice anything different?

Guards! Guards! Ranma replaces Carrot - how will the various guilds deal with a super-powered guardsman? This could be changed to a modern setting - Ranma joins a useless police force and has to deal with various magic conspiracies.
(Men At Arms, Feet of Clay, Jingo, The Fifth Elephant, Night Watch, Thud)

Eric: Rincewind appears in Nerima to Hikaru Gosunkugi. What are his three wishes?

Witches Abroad: The three witches pass through Nerima. What will they think of the usual chaos? What solutions will they offer? What problems will they leave behind?

Small Gods: Ranma is visited by a small god who offers him a chance to lose his curse in exchange for believers. Maybe it's the god who originally cursed Jusenkyo?

Lords and Ladies: Elves versus Martial Artists - who is more arrogant?

Soul Music: Ranma versus Magic Rock'n'Roll. Could be set in Nerima, Akane suddenly becomes an idol singer and is in danger of "leaving a beautiful corpse." What will he do to save her? Will there be dueling banjos?

Interesting Times: Ranma joins the Cohen's Horde

Maskerade: Ranma tries to protect Akane from that creepy guy in the mask. That chandelier looks like an accident to happen.

Hogfather: How will the Nerimans deal with the new Hogfather? What kind of small anthropomorphic personifications will their beliefs create?

The Last Continent: Ranma versus <s>Australia</s> XXXX

Carpe Jugulum: Ranma and friends visit Dontgonearthe Castle.

The Truth: The adventures of a reporter in Nerima.

Thief of Time: Ranma meets his booksmart twin.

Monstrous Regiment: Ranma will fit right in. He's probably the last to discover the truth about his comrades. ^_^

Going Postal, Making Money: Moist von Lipwig's new mission is to bring order to the district of Nerima. Maybe he shouldn't have said that thing about the mimes to the Patrician?

I respectfully disagree on that one. Ranma may break the laws of physics, but Discworld as a whole - especially its dangers - violently rapes physics and then takes a dump on the corpse. He'd be about as helpless as anyone else when push comes to shove, simply because things work in a really demented way in Discworld.

I mean, seriously, just look at The Luggage. Or about anything Cohen the Barbarian does. Or the Disc itself - a flat expanse of Earth on the backs of four elephants riding a giant space turtle? Not even Ranma has that kind of wtf factor in its series.

I'd avoid having everyone meet everyone, or rehashing the book plots too closely. Either, through some magical mishap, a small group of characters from one world end up in the other, and have to find their way back, or Nerima is, and always was, somewhere on the Discworld.

In the first option, three or four is enough. Much more than that, and most of the characters will just get wasted. For the second, the obvious place for Nerima is the Counterweight Continent, but that's away from the main action, apart from Interesting Times. You could make it a suburb of Ankh-Morpork, but that might be a bit too close to the main action for fitting the backstories together. I'd make it an eccentric small town, within a week's travel of Ankh. The Jusenkyo area would be in the Hub, where all the mysterious monasteries are, and the strongest natural magic.

The Discworld characters come in natural groups, any of whom could be dropped in canon Nerima. Going the other way, either just send the characters you want to pair up, or pick ones who will clash, not necessarily a usual grouping. Imagine Ranma, Cologne, and Konatsu, for example, or leave Ranma at home and send Akane, Mousse, and Genma.

Granny Weatherwax doesn't lose, and she never turns down a challenge. If Ranma characters get dropped into Lancre, they'll stay there - Granny would never go running to the wizards for help. Granny also understands stories well, and she doesn't like them. She'd deliberately break the tyranny of status quo - curing the curse and Ranma's cat phobia, while Nanny Ogg gave him a few lessons on romance and sex. Unfortunately, Granny thinks she can cook. If she tries teaching Akane her culinary secrets, the results would certainly be interesting, but not edible.

Drop the witches in Nerima, and they'll still meddle with everything, trying to break the status quo. Cologne and Granny Weatherwax would probably go in for icy politeness - they've got different styles, and little respect for foreigners, but they're too mature to rush into a fight.

Drop the Nerimeans anywhere else on the disc and they'll end up going to Ankh-Morpork, where the wizards will be able to send them home. The locals won't be actively trying to sovle their problems - apart perhaps from the wizards trying to break the Jusenkyo curse -but things will get shaken up anyway.

On the disc, any encounter with Rincewind is likely to be fleeting. In Nerima, he'd have a lot of lucky escapes.

Vimes would apply common sense and cynicism in equal measure, whatever the circumstances. On his home territory, he'd consider the Nerimeans a nuisance, and give them sensible adive in a moment of exasperation. In Nerima, he'd try and keep the watch unentangled in local affairs, for pragmatic reasons, though Carrrot's idealism would cause problems, and he'd react badly to Kuno.

The wizards have appetites even bigger than Ranma's. They'd view him as an amusing curiosity, which would rankle. If they were visiting Nerima, they'd cause problems everywhere, meddling with the technology they don't understand, and they wouldn't listen to any warnings. On the Discworld, they'd be a bit less annoying, but there'd be quite a bit of dangerous magical experimentation, with Ranma as test subject. Remember, their first proposal for an hangover cure would have left the patient liquefied.

Martial arts are rare on the disc, outside the hub, though Cohen should be able to beat Ranma comfortably. Some of the non-human creatures mightl be a challenge. A troll is a lot harder to hurt than Ryoga. Ranma won't do so well against magic. he can dodge fireballs, but not curses.

Ranma wouldn't stand a chance against Coin. Remember, the only reason Rincewind was able to beat the Sourcerer was because he was so obviously pathetic that Coin couldn't bring himself to fight back when Rincewind knocked the staff away with his brick-laden sock. Gosunkuni might be able to do that against Coin, but Ranma would be instantly obliterated.

On Hogfather, Ryoga would be tormented by the Cheerful Fairy, Akane would be considered a devotee of the God of Indigestion, and Happosai would be hunting the Eater of Socks for consuming some pantyhose in his lingerie collection.

I actually remember an ANCIENT idea where Ranma got sent to a magical world and had to learn magic and the most applicable magic system he found was the magic of witches.

Now granted Ranma probably does not have the common sense or talent for a witch at the same time I cant help but think how amusing it would be if Ranma DID land in discworld and found himself forcibly recruited as a witch in training (in female form of course. Whether the curse was discovered or not no i have no idea). If only as Granny Weatherwax basically beats his head in about the true role of a witch. Though granted I can see Ranma as a witch going 'bad' in the same way that Black Allice went bad.

Edit: oops sorry for necro.
