Ranma ½ Ranma's Training Trip

#1
I had an idea for verious one shots for what Ranma's life was like before the story began.

To start it off:

Idea: While studing at the shin-mei-ryu school Ranma and Motoko watch an episode of DBZ. Wanting to learn Goku's Kame-style matial arts technique Ranma devised a way from an old training manual in his fathers bag. He digs a pit and fills it with turtles from a nearby stream and the trainee will jump in while covered in lettuce. Lossing the Coinflip to Motoko he had to wait for her to finish before he could get his turn. Unfortunately Genma found that to be the right moment to run away with Ranma with the katana the family gave him to engage their children. Even worse when Motoko learned that the only turtles near her house where the snapping kind.

Idea: While Genma was off spending all the money he got for selling off Ranma his son was staying with a nice scientist family who found him tied to a tree in the park (with a sign 'Do Not Touch' pinned to his shirt.) they had mixed feelings about it, on the one had he really made their doughter happy, on the other the damn kid could keep his hands off their tools! They had lost count of how many times he nearly burned down the house. Well one day the the Tomoes where running an experiment to see if they could make dimemtional portals and Ranma decided to press the shiny red button.

Wouldn't the first idea result in Motoko learning the "turtle fist"?

I'm pretty sure that they would've tried to do what they do on the show for training... mostly beat the crap out of each other, in DBZ. I can see one of 'em losing a coin toss and having to be "Gregory," but not them turning the Cat Fist into the Turtle Fist.

Your forgetting, everyone in Ranma jumps to conclusions and is an idiot. Ranma's logic went something like 'Turtle style' > 'Turtle fist' > 'that scroll dad has says cat fist' > 'Catfist is turtlefist but with cats' > solution 'Substitute cats with Turtles!'

In the end this snippet hardly matters it's about random weirdness of Ranma's pre-Nerima days. Don't like make your own idea.

No, no, I'm still stuck on the turtle fist idea. The idea of Motoko finding herself incapable of escaping turtles and just suddenly starting to act like one. I'm just stuck on the idea of the scene where this technique gets discovered when she's older.

Hardly seems anywhere near as effective as the cat fist. I guess the technique would raise her defensive abilities to ridiculous heights while slowing her down?

And give her the ability to fly.

So, what'd wind up happening is, one day Keitaro and the rest are engaged in their usual hijinks sans Motoko, who has somehow managed to get surrounded by turtles and can't escape. Then said hijinks stop as she just sort of flies past while being followed by a train of turtles.

At around 13, Ranma and Genma stayed for a few months in Roanapur to hone Ranma's ability to deal with guns. Hilarity ensued.

She also gains uncanny abilities with katana, b, sai, and nunchaku.

To be honest, it's not the worst idea I've seen around these parts lately.

If the right person took up the idea, I'd read it.
