Anyone know any (good) Kingdom Hearts fics that aren't about dudes boning or High School AUs?

Pretty good crossover but a deadfic.

This person has made a lot of KH fanfics. Mostly featuring Leon's crew in Hollow Bastion/Radiant Garden and their lives. Has made a big thing for Tifa/Leon fics.

Fair warning, it's a crossover with Familiar of Zero.

No Need For Halkeginian Logic by Midnakdak

It's crack. I don't know what it's cut with. The Dragonborn from the game was summoned.
My throat's still raw from the suppressed laughter of reading this delightful insanity.

Does anyone have any good Dragon Age and Dragon Age II fics to recommend? I've lately been playing both and have a craving for such, but had no luck finding anything interesting.

The provoking young Cousland Grey Warden stands squarely in the way of Anora's ambitions.

Not a bad story if you don't mind romance.

Chronicles of an Elven Bedwarmer by swartzwald is a fun one. The blight never happened, no one was recruited by the wardens, and Aedan Cousland stumbles across a Denerim elf in dire need of help.

It's a fun read, the romance is cute, and Aedan's big sister is pretty awesome. That said, it has been a while since it updated, and I already mentioned how some parts of it don't really line up with the game. I liked it, though.

What no mention of the Epic Arsinoe fanfics?

Victory at Ostagar by Arsinoe de Blassenville

When Bryce Cousland's little spitfire scaled the Tower of Ishal and lit the beacon at the critical moment, King Cailan won a mighty victory against the darkspawn. The Blight, however was far from over. All other origins included, plus Hawke and his companions. Cousland/Loghain, Morrigan/Anders, Surana/Zevran, Fergus/Anora, and more. Half a million hits and still going.
Dragon Age - Rated: T - English - Adventure/Fantasy - Chapters: 128 - Words: 1,173,590 - Reviews: 4959 - Favs: 1,011 - Follows: 779 - Updated: Dec 1, 2013 - Published: Mar 19, 2010 - Cousland - Complete

Note: Normally pairings that are explicitly stated like this are a BIG WARNING to STAY AWAY. However, they are fortunately not a major part of the story line and can be mostly ignored. Also, she is painfully honest about the difficulties and challenges in a relationship. This is I suppose the difference in a writer who is am adult, and a writer who is a teenager.

Its true that she tends to write female characters which is usually hard for me to empathise with and tends to favour Loghain, but she is a wonderfully deft writer who explores the politics, socio-economic world of Dragon Age in astonishing depth without plot dumps.

Her other stories set in DA are pretty good too, I especially enjoy her short stories anthology which is much less intimidating than her completed epic:

@[Megaolix], that was really good. I just have one regret with how you handled things: you could have sparked a riot easily had you spread a rumor that the queen was preparing to ransack the population in the name of taxation, and the first sign would be the shuttering of the gates. Once that had time to spread, you drop the rumor about Ovelia in Goltana's hands, and the gates close.

For extra viciousness, add some rumors about the Secret Peace and voila, instant revolution. Congratulations on a nearly-bloodless coup, though. I'm impressed with how well it went.

Well, ultimately, a serious riot would have made the whole thing a lot bloodier. And because the dice sometimes love to fuck with us, imagine if the riot reached the richer areas where Alma is. And the Southern Sky would have to handle the repairs after taking the city, so...

And yeah, I'm surprised by how well everything worked out. Wish Dyana was still alive and Aran was feeling better, but still. And we killed a Lucavi too.

I asked Kei in a message about the odds of others getting their own equivalent of special forces after that massive success in Lesalia. Kei answered not small... Depending on others being aware of us.

Don't believe that special forces units are anything new, if Rapha and Malach are taken into account. I'd assume other factions have their own already, even if they lack Ramzas/main characters of their own.

Speaking of main characters, it might be time to go looking for a certain mechanic...

Cid already said he would get Lionel looked into. That leave us free to check if it's the Northern Sky who hold Agrias and check how involved an old comrade is.

Only minor annoyance I have is the use of the new spelling. Took me a while to realise the templar was supposed to be Izlude.

That and the misuse of the word decimated in 'half the Lionsguard got decimated'. That sentence means they lost 5% of their troops, which isn't all that bad.

What?

They lost half their total number, which was stated to be about 150. Half lost is a severe blow to them that will take a long time to recover from... If they can even be trusted to protect Ovelia and not forced to disband.

Hence the term misuse. Decimated actually means one in ten got killed.

It can be used as to mean 'a whole lot of them got destroyed' but then it should be 'the Lionsguard got decimated' not 'half the Lionsguard got decimated'.

Nitpicky, but meh :p

If Appius Claudius Sabinus Inregillensis had ordered that one in six of the members of his army who hadn't cast away their weapons to be executed, instead of one in ten, the english language would be a little bit more amusing today.
