Wow, what a story. I know you completed it since last year of May, but I've got to say, you have such dedication to finish this, I wish I had some of that.
Firstly, I'll say, great job at this story. I started reading this since a week and a half ago, around the 12th of January (this month obviously, haha) I read about 5 or so chapters a day, so imagine that. Anyway, I found it interesting how you implemented some Asch Gaiden material in here. I didn't recognize it until the fourth chapter. I had to make a double-take on the previous ones where you mentioned you used such as reference and then research it for myself. Needless to say, I didn't get too far, but I got the gist of it.
There were scenes in this story that had me nearly crying. I shed a few tears when reading chapter 62 and chapter 73 the most. Luke's almost death and Asch's denial also had me going. And here I thought I'd never get so emotional over a fan-fiction. I proved myself wrong. I haven't beaten the game yet as I have the 3DS version (and will get the PS2 version for kicks someday) but I knew what was going on. I spoiled myself way before I started reading this, and the curiosity of the story's title got me. I know you're done with this and the inner Grammar Nazi in me found some misspelled words along the way, but I did my best to bypass them. The quality of this story was amazing.
If it had been a hardcover copy, I wouldn't have put it down no matter how much my eyes protested. Unfortunately, as much as I wanted to print out each chapter so I could read it without straining my eyes on the computer screen, I didn't. My main point is, I couldn't turn away from this story the moment my eyes set upon the first sentence of the chapter.
I love AU stories and this one is going on my favorites list. I admire such quality, talent, effort and dedication you put into this.
I was also hoping for Luke to cut his hair at some point, but then that would defeat the purpose of the "Switcheroo" game the 'twins' had going. Those were the funny parts and it nearly had me just like it had the characters. Anise's frustration when such incident happened had me chuckling a few. I'm also glad you used the game script for majority of this; my absolute favorite line of Jade's is: "I hate teaching. I don't impart knowledge, I don't take apprentices." I could literally hear his voice from the game say this.
I may not have such endurance for my stories as you do, but you definitely set up a seed of determination in me to finish my own stories. I have the attention span of a brick wall, and stories that even make it past chapter one of mine is a miracle. I start things I may not finish and it's become a terrible habit. However, I feel I can refuel my kindling fire to finish them as you've done with this (and possibly many other stories in your archive) You've inspired me and I thank-you for that, regardless if it was intentional or not.
I can reflect on this story (ha-ha pun) for reference to further that determination stated above.
Kudos to you, my good sir or ma'am. Kudos.
