First, speak English. Second, the current barabra would piss on his grave. The real one would have to sit on it to do so. And that would just be a mess all around.

Has the new 52 got any sort of replacement for Oracle? Because I'm fairly certain that Oracle was canonically stated to be an incredible asset to the superhero community, and accomplished more good than Batgirl 1 ever did.

It's bad enough that DC has decided to toss Cass and Steph aside for Barbara, but if she's running around being a vigilante and leaving other heroes without the support she provided as an information broker, that's actually pretty morally suspect.

Wouldn't it be possible that she's doing both? She can't possibly be spending all of her time punching criminals, after all, and it's not like it's a skillset that'd go away (even despite the physiotherapy to get her used to doing things like walking again chewing up her time).

Oracle was a full time job. She was more than a communications network. If she spent half of her time as Batgirl the loss would be immense.

Don't get me started on the New 52's take on Batgirl...

Prior to the New 52, they had been pushing Steph into a Barbara mold, making her into Barbara lite. Then they make Barbara Batgirl again, and now she's a parody of herself. The maturation from years as oracle forgotten.

Tim gets transported to the cartoon Young Justice world, and he's not sure he knows how to deal with it.

This is very well done. The author does a good job keeping everyone in character.

What the fuck, present tense.

I found an... unusual Spider-man crossover by Scrivener a while back, which has recently updated.

Variant Strain is the name of it. It's crossed over with Prototype, and it involves Peter Parker being infected by and subsequently combating the spread of Blacklight. Highly recommended.

Also of interest is Scrivener's one-shot, Dealing with Disappointment. I laughed out loud, the first time I read it.

Wanted to rec some comic fanfics I read so here:

Firebirds By: antiochene
The Phoenix has come to earth, but so have the Shi'ar. The X-Men and the Avengers discover that the road to hell is paved with good intentions as they try to overcome their differences and work together to save the mutant race - and Earth itself.

The best and only fix fic for AvX. Characterization I believe is spot on and this has two things that AvX both had and didn't have. A long read but a good one.

and:

https://www.fanfiction.net/s/8490558/1/Distant-World
Distant World By: sadistic lunatic
::post-AvX AU:: Because often times, misunderstandings escalate.

For the Cyclops fan in me. A good character based fic and AU for the end of AvX.

So there ya go.

i see a lot of SIs in the DC universe but i have yet to see anyone get thrown into Marvel. Is an SIs chance of survival that low on Earth 616 as opposed to New Earth?

In most cases... yes.

Considering that a good number SIs inevitably get granted some kind of powers through some form of deus ex machina (note that I do not say all SIs), the reaction of the populace is vastly different. In DC, unless you go out and start robbing banks and the like, you'll be regarded as an oddity at worst, and a wonder at best.

In Marvel, spontantously displaying powers that have no technology to create them, you'll probably end up being called a mutant and be vilified on the spot.

God help you if you end up in an X-Men centric story as well.

Not to mention that there are significantly more organized evil syndicates in Marvel than in DC. DC has the League of Assassins, Intergang, and a few Supervillain teams, but by and large as far as super-crime groups go there aren't many ORGANIZED setups. At least not ones that I can think of as I type this post...

Marvel on the other hand, has Hydra, Advanced Idea Mechanics, RAID, Weapon Plus, Weapon X, The Maggia, The Hand, posssibly the Chaste? and a number of other more local organizations as well as dozens of different supervillain groups. Hell, I can think of at least four separate heads of state that are also world class supervillains and still have diplomatic immunity for god knows what reason.

Huh, heads of state brings to mind Doom and Namor (on occasion), but who are the others?

didn't actually think of Namor, but Doctor Doom, the Sultan of Sharzad, The Mandarin (he had a Singapore equivalent which is relevant in current Iron Man comics), and the Scientist Supreme of AIM Island. Hell, AIM Island in general makes no sense, The UN and the US seem to have the sentiment of "oh you made a country where the vast majority of your population are acknowledged as international terrorists and your government is composed of wanted supervillains from across the globe? Well, we certainly have to acknowledge you as a legal state and treat you fairly and treat anyone that tries to invade you as criminal"

AIM Island actually makes sense: the UN now know where those guys are, at least.

And, well, they are a whole nation-island of Mad Super Scientists. USA might bomb them because they have a much better universal healthcare, with dental plans and shit for the families of all AIM workers

Posted in the cartoon section but posting here too.

Genderbending AU! All Alexandria "Lex" Luthor wanted was a nice date with Clark Kent. It turned into a night that changed everything.
Young Justiceverse. But you really don't need to be familiar with that universe that much. Conner Kent is born naturally to a Fem!Luthor (who is still a villain) and Clark Kent.

*blinks twice*

Well. That would make things awkward. Might as well check it out, since it mentions one of my greatest weaknesses when it comes to fiction.

...Not sure if want but too intriguing. *clicks*

Edit: Oh damn. Now I understand why girls like to ship Clex. It really really works.

Yeah. Clarkfem!lex works really well. The author is pretty clear on this fic being focused on Conner's relationship between his parents over everything.

Nope. Real life has hit Contract with a K hard for the time being.

Such a shame, but understandable. At least the parts that have been posted make for good reading.

BTW Inaba did you read Contract with a K`s other fics? You might enjoy them in the mean time.

Contract with a K

Similar writers to Contract: Some fics are slash, majority are not.

There's an Ironman/A Song of Ice and Fire crossover running with Tony as part of House Stark. It's not bad so far and has already put in some changes to the plot.

A Man of Iron

Antony 'Tony' Stark is the arrogant cousin of Ned Stark whose made his fortune crafting fine weapons for the lords of Westeros. Tony leads a joyful life, doing what he pleases and leaving the politics of the realm to others. But when violent attack nearly ends his life, Tony decides to take action and creates a hero for the people to rally around... a knight known as Iron Man.
