On another message board I've been roleplaying a country based on RA2's Soviet Union, only using places and backstory from Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete (the Soviet Republic of Meribia, as seen in my sig). I've been thinking about writing a series of snippets and shorts based on the RP and posting them up somewhere, not sure if I'll do it though. On another note, there's also crossovers with The Slayers (Soviet Socialist States of Zefielia, a redhead chick bearing the Inverse name is my Minister of Finance, and Xelloss is head of the NKVD's propaganda corps - not to mention the "Ruby-Eye Dragons" that are Meribia and Zefielia's national animal), Ghost in the Shell (my secret police force is known as NKVD "Section 9", is run by an Aramaki clone, and features a Motoko Kusanagi clone named Miriya Kordakov who commands "Banshee Team", which includes characters based on Mana Tatsumiya, Asuka Langley Soryu, and Tina Foster named Zofia Dzugashvilli, Svetlana Golikov and Tatyana Zhdanov respectively), Ace Combat 4 (we built a copy of Stonehenge at one point, didn't work out), and Killzone (in the current RP, Vane went Helghast on us and lit off some nukes/spread VX all over the place). A little bit of Tiberian C&C too (Nod's running around in Zefielia while Meribia fights Vane), and a smattering of Vampire: The Masquerade (it's been hinted at some points that General Secretary Jessica Del Alkirk might be a vampire, or at least consort with one).
Edit: I should also note that Tatyana Zhdanov's father, Aleksandr Zhdanov, runs NKVD Section 0 - he's essentially NKVD's Q. Marko Ramius from The Hunt for Red October is commander of the 1st Fleet of the Soviet Meribian Navy, and Red October is a secret project to develop an assault minisub not unlike Tigershark from the old, obscure PSX game. The Soviet Meribian Air Force fields the Firefox from the old Clint Eastwood movie (speaking of which, a Clint Eastwood clone is one of SMAF's top aces). Finally (I think), Jesper Kyd's Choir of Liberty from the Freedom Fighters OST is Meribia's national anthem.
