So I don't mean to bring up a shipping war or such, but I was wondering--has anyone considered alternative pairings for characters besides the warring factions of NanohaxFate and NanohaxYuuno?

Personally I've entertained the notions of pairing up different characters in stories, or wanting to see different pairings, even if they contradict other pairings I've considered.

Such include...

Fate Testarossa x Nanoha Takamachi x Yuuno Scrya: because why fight when you can have a threesome?

Nanoha Takamachi x Arisa Bannings: Arisa did seem to harbor a bit of a girl-crush on Nanoha. All blondes seem to be hot for Nanoha.

Hayate Yagami x Suzuka Tsukimura: Suzuka was her first friend outside of the Wolkenritter, after all, and given Hayate's tendencies for breasts... and Suzuka's utter acceptance of Hayate's quirk...

Signum Yagami x Vice Granscenic: I don't think many realize this as a viable pairing, given the lack of listening to Sound Stages. Most people think of Teana when pairing Vice with someone...

And finally...

Vivio Takamachi x Kurt Grendel: That's right! This idea was spawned hilariously by Mariya looking like Vivio, despite the purple hair. Got me to thinking: what if Vivio and Kurt dated, and then she got pissed off by him by a personality change (the infection) and dumped him, then found out later one of the girls he's hanging out with looks like an older version of her? It's absurd, yes, but I find the idea amusing after a sort. The hidden depths he showed in the latest translated chapter of Force didn't really hurt, either--he's somewhat kinder than he lets on.

Well...

I've thought of pairings like...

Vita x Yuuno Why? Because I could, and something that that could be fun.

Hayate x Genya Nakajima So what if he's old enough to be her father? Maybe that's what she wanted?

Shiro Takamachi x Lindy Harlaown Why? Well, if Momoko died sometime after Nanoha was born, Shirou would have to raise Nanoha, Miyuki and Kyouya all on his own. And then he meets a young widower by the name of Lindy...

Shiro x Lindy x Momoko Because, honestly, it's hot.

Touma x Nakajima Sisters I've already got H pics of this, so, quiet. :p

Let me see, for me:

Yuuno x Hayate Dunno why but it works well for me.

Chrono x Signum I think that the two of them respect each other greatly, and beeing the serious ones of their groups can offer some occasion for them to grow closer.

Thoma x Quinn Upon seein the last few chapters I mentally added her in his harem by default.

and finally...

Miyuki x Someone Because despite TH3 I think that there's not enough p0rn of her...and Reinforce for the matter.

How about this...

Chrono x Nanoha For a Toy Box it's a canon pairing. And two of them raising Vivio, Carel and Leira would be cute.

Signum x Nanoha Those two clicks pretty good together IMHO. And Fate should be careful, Signum is pretty good in crushing barriers... into Nanoha's heart for example.

Yuuno x Stern Nanoha's "sister" is pretty cute as well. And kuddere as well.

Yuuno x Stern x Nanoha Double Nano is the ultimate win. But honestly those threesome is cute as Nanoha would have a sister in magical world to pamper her.

Fate x Teana Hey, they spend long times on those missions together, who knows what happens out there? (Already wrote a lemon for it anyway! :p)

Arf x Nanoha I teased this one once back when I wrote "Changes", could be interesting to see. Doesn't even have to be romantic, but would be hilarious.

Teana x Cyborgs For some reason, I just see all the Cyborgs wanting to get into Teana's panties. (Oh yeah, wrote lemons on those pairings as well.)

Megane x Zest Honestly, I just can't see anyone but Zest being Lutecia's father.

Due x Erio Considering Due's a shape shifter, well... Kinks abound here.

Vice x Alto It's pretty much obvious that she likes him.

Vice x Shari Mecha otaku pair FTW.

Fate x Shari same reason why fate x tea can work.

Agito x Zwei because opposites attracts.

Agito x Yuuno because one is Laharl (in voice only) and the other is Etna (in aspect only).

Lindy x Megane Because the loney mother sometimes need some company.

Fate T Lieze and Nanoha T Lieze x Yuuno (evil personality while Yuuno is drunk and when Yuuno asks Nanoha and Fate what happened last night, they don't know what he was talking about)

Due x Chrono (transforms into Fate xD)

Yuuno x Victoria or one of the final 8 connected to an Emperor xD

Subaru x Nanoha this is a no-brainer. Subaru has always been a fangirl of Nanoha, ever since she saved Subaru from that burning building. It would be simple to change some basic hero worship into a crush. Plus, the writers are vague on relationships, so she doesn't necessarily have to be in a relationship with Fate. I can easily see Subaru asking Nanoha out to dinner, then confessing her feelings while Nanoha is rather stunned, and agrees to give it a try.

Stern x Yuuno This one's also not difficult to imagine. In the Gears of Destiny game, Stern refers to Yuuno as her teacher, and is very respectful to him, because he taught Nanoha magic, and which indirectly taught Stern all she knows about magic, as well.

Chrono x Nanoha In the first season, when Nanoha announces that he's a nice guy, he blushes. And four years isn't that big of a difference, at least when the two grow up more. I can see her having a crush on him.

Yuuno x Hayate It's suggested that he helped create Zwei, so he's kind of like her dad or something. He's probably spent a lot of time with Hayate, too, so they would get to know each other well, which would help in a relationship.

Teana x Subaru, Ginga and Nove Well Subaru is a total masochist for Teana so perhaps there is a sleeping desire for that in the other two Quint clones :-3

Well, as far as my liking of the YuuNanoFate pairing, Fate's known Yuuno for almost as long and is probably as important to her as he is to Nanoha in their life. It really wouldn't surprise me if she was attracted to him as well. It wouldn't really surprise me if Nanoha and Fate were willing to share, particularly if they're attracted to each other as well.

Nanoha/Arisa, Suzuka/Hayate... I think those have been explained sufficiently as I can. Childhood crushes and such, especially since in both cases they were first friends (Along with Suzuka, in Arisa's case).

Shiro/Momoko/Lindy... well, that can be a combination of an adventurous couple trying out new things with a trusted friend + comfort for Lindy, since she's a widow. Interesting either way, though it doesn't have to be romantic in nature for the three of them.

Signum and Vice, well, Vice served under Signum's squad for a time and have a pretty good friendship going for them, what with how Vice refers to her as Signum-nee-chan in a familiar manner. All it needs is Vice asking her out on a date during their stint in RF6, since she's not quite his commanding officer any longer. Sorta.

My Vivio/Kurt idea... that's just crack. I find it an amusing possible scenario, complete with Nanoha bemoaning the fact her daughter has an older delinquent boyfriend, at least for a little while. :V

Most of mine are crack. Pure, unadulterated, high octane crack that can let you see spectrum's of light and sound that you never knew existed.

Yes, with this crack, you can see sound.

Chrono X Carim. (I blame Chaos2Frozen for this) They're both high level officers who cares a lot for their subordinate. Not to mention their banter in the short time we saw them together was quite amusing to me.

Yuuno x Due. I don't know how the hell I came up with this. I just had the thought of Assassin/Spy and Librarian/Archeologist would be fun. THen it snowballed from there.

Yuuno x Reinforce x Hayate (This one is on Iron) Yuuno and Hayate would, in my opinion, make a good couple, emotion and combat wise. For the first part, he's a genuine good guy, which would make him a lot easier to get closer too, while she's cheerful enough for the both of them. For the second part, he can defend her while she's charging up one of her more powerful spells, using his multitasking to create barriers and shields.

Of course, there's more, but those three pairs are pretty much the top one in my head.

Yuuno x Einhart: As a result of GOD. Einhart's encounter with Yuuno leaves quite a mark on her and the way he can dish out 20+ hit combos gets her all excited.

No one's mentioned the Aces Threesome of Nanoha x Fate x Hayate yet. Sort of a crack pairing though, since we really don't get to see Hayate interact with either of them. I mean, really interact.

If this topic was started anywhere else, I'm sure we would be seeing hellfire raining down upon our heads.
Anyway...

Quint Nakajima x Megane Alpino: They were in the same squad (Zest's) during their days in the Bureau and according to Megane in Vivid, they were rivals in the DSAA tournament. Both are also incredibly hot moms.

Lindy Harlaown x Leti Lowran: Co-workers and apparently drinking buddies, who knows what kinds of stuff they did together during their younger years.

Nanoha Takamachi x Teana Lanster: Master-student galore. Nanoha may or may not have taught Tea things other than Starlight Breaker.

Fate T. Harlaown x Teana Lanster: Another mentor-apprentice dynamic as Tea worked as Fate's enforcer aide before becoming a full fledged Enforcer. Surely there have been times when the two had bonding moments.
