Fun fact: there's a random encounter where a Wastelander is under attack by what normally would be four normal Radscorpions.

Under Broken Steel, each of them has a 50% chance of being an Albino.

Net result? You can conceivably run into four Albino Radscorpions right out of the Vault.

NOT FUN. Pray there are cars to blow up in the vicinity, or you are dead meat.

(Alternatively, flee for your life towards the Citadel and let the BoS fight them. They will lose, but will also distract them some.)

Suprisingly, I never got this. Guess I quick traveled too much.

Fun story: I once was searching for the Bethesda Ruins, when I pass by what I thought was house ruins. Eventually I was passed by them and saw a group of people standing infront of the door to one, and being me, I approached to find out what was wrong.

I was in your house? Dude, how could I come out if I came out if was behind you?

Must had triggered some event.

Ah the house and four people must be the unmarked Andale quest. If you steal or pickpocket (good luck with that) into the basement or shed you can find a lot of strange meat.

Then they confront you outside. Depending on your speech and perk(Cannibalism I believe.) they either A. Are friendly and you can get a strange meat pie every so often or B. Are hostile and you can kill them.


I usually kill them all.

I manage to get the dead Chinese Ghoul at the super save mart. Woohoo!

I always make a beeline for the abandoned barn behind Vault 101, because it's the absolute 100% best place to abuse reload and trigger the Firelance. No chance of the damn gun getting stuck anywhere.

Tried to reinstall Fallout 3 the other day.

Last OS was WinXP. Never had a problem. Got Windows7 now, and it CTDs before I even get to the menu screen.

Anyone run into this problem?

The scuttlebutt (i love using that word) i've heard is that its possible to run the game on W7, just that it crashes all over the place. Honestly surprised that the modding community hasn't found a fix for it yet.

Fixed the problem; turns out my main_menu.xml didn't actually exist in the game files, so I had to install DarnUI. Once I did that, the problem went away.
