Hey just deciding to make a dedicated thread to the newest-ish Adult swim show:

RICK AND MORTY.

It's a pretty messed up but fun comedic sci-fi romp. Rick is the insane mad scientist that travels throughout the multiverse. Morty is his poor unfortunate grandson that he drags along to help. Poor little guy.

There's many shoutouts to certain films and sci-fi in general and season 2 is going to air tomorrow.

Oh yeah, one hell of a show, this one.

Honestly, one of my favorite AS originals. Right up there with Boondocks, Harvey Birdman, and The Venture Bros.

I love how non-giving a fuck Rick is about everything. And the bit from the last episode of last season, where Birdguy (I can't remember his name!) hinted that Rick's trademark saying was covering up a deep hurt...

Heh. I can't wait to see what shit Rick and Morty get up to this season.

In fact, it kind of inspired an idea for an Eva fic.

I mean, Gendo as Rick, Shinji as Morty?

Question: Would Gendo be making time/dimension/universe traveling tech on his own or get it from Yui?

Follow-up: Would that connect this fic to your other Eva fics?

I wasn't planning on connecting it to other fics, but that's certainly something that could happen. Even if it's only a reference.

My "plan" was for Gendo to be the brilliant but struggling scientist, but Yui grew despondent that he hadn't progressed and she left him, taking Shinji away.

Gendo comes back into Shinji's life when Yui dies, and that's when the antics start.



Or something. I'll post something in the Eva section rather than clutter up this thread.

Justin Roiland has been fired from Rick & Morty, Adult Swim confirms. Roles will be recast. The show is continuing.

Considering AS ordered 10 seasons, they really have no choice. Especially if the ratings stay up. R&M doesn't have the lag between seasons The Venture Bros did, either.
