[RWBY/Guildwars] The Noble Roses: omnibus thread.

Figured that instead of making a new thread for every chapter, I may as well just make one and keep that updated from now on.

The story is my mmo life inspired mash up of RWBY and Guildwars 2, focusing less on the game aspects and more on how the addition of skills and professions is changing the lives of the characters who have been granted them. Honestly, i've seen way too many fics were RPG stuff is an easy deus ex machina answer to every situation, growing to power levels that would make DBZ blush.

I'm trying to avoid that as much as possible, while still holding on to what made each property in the mashup fun.

Anyways, let me know what you think here, always open to criticism (it's my first fic, after all).

In more recent news, the initial draft of chapter eight can be found Right here . It's a Jaune focused chapter, and this arc will more or less replace the 'Jaundice' arc in RWBY.

Having been cleaned up a bit, with a few other small changes, chapter eight is now available on FFN.

Creep fights are hard to write because we never see one fight in the show. Luckily they are common in the game, so I was able to get a feel for it. Just imagine one the size of a deviljo from monster hunter, and you get the idea.

Chapter 10 is evidentaly up for those who care about such a thing.

Anyway, I just wanted to say that the story feels almost like it's better not knowing anything about GW2 than if you did know anything about GW2. So gj.

I doubt much of the fandom on the RWBY side is at all familiar with it. The cast, of course, has no clue who they are talking to at this point, but they will discover the truth in time.

interesting tidbit: This is only the second crossover between those series on FFN, at the time I wrote it. The other has the RWBY cast transported to Tyria.

Chapter 13 is also out, bit of a transition chapter.

Also discovered yWriter5 today. Holy crap is this going to make it easier to work on this going forward. Free, and hella useful in all areas of story development, editing and management.

Chapter 14 out, heading into the end game for volume 1's events. Also ported the entire series, cleaned up that is, over to Ao3.

And man, I love it when new canon lore slots in nicely to what I have planned for the series going forward. hell, it actually resolves a few plot points later on.

Wow, so RWBY canon has gone some nice places, and well, I kno have an ending in sight for this fic when the time comes, and plot threads to lay in the comming chapters. I'm fleshing out my mythology for the rose's version of the world that I really look forward to writing in the main fic.

Ch 15 is about 75%, been hard to find time to write this given the new baby and all. Just got to finish an action scene and redo a bit of dialog to better fit the character's voice and I should be good.

Hmm, got a review that really hated GLlnda's tone at the end there. I tried for 'disappointed mother figure' where as he read it as 'hypocritical bitch'
