I'm cautiously optimistic - I watch pretty much zero shoujo, but the original anime was such a large part of my childhood that I'll probably watch this just for the nostalgia factor.

That said, I'm hoping that this adaptation won't run into some of the same problems that brought the original down.

Sailor Quartet, Sailor Kakyuu, lesbian twins a,b, and c Heavy metal papillon get animated.

Bissek's fic was just bad don't blame dub. I fondly remember the dub. Bissek is just a bad writer.

The dub did maybe two things better than the sub: it gave us the "talent" gag and it gave us "I still pity you" as Moon's parting shot to Nehelenia in the SuperS finale.

I want the epic sort of feel the manga left. Galaxia cleansed a galaxy because she wanted to Save Usagi for last. Earth was the final planet alive and Galaxia was coming for her. The animes final arc never reached the low point Usagi hit in the manga.

And despite being the strongest in the Galaxy, Usagi still struggled to fight the Anima-Mates. Chibiusa and the quartet had to save her from Sailor Heavy Metal Papillon.

Old manga always did that. Fushigi Yuugi for example. Miaka had a dozen eye/hair colors. They played with coloring for lulz or splash pages. Also what does the anime have to do with the manga?

I mean as in the new anime being consistent with the manga, so Luna having blue eyes and black fur, Artemis having green eyes, Rei and Hotaru having black hair, etc.

They'll probably keep anime colors since that's what everyone remembers. The real offense in hair colors is Haruka. Since purple/blue highlights = black anyway but poor Haruka. She had WHITE hair since she was the sky soldier and they made her blonde for no reason.

On the other hand, I wonder if they're going to just do a straight rerun of the manga with some filling in between the scenes, or if they'll bring in filler episodes/arcs. If they do the latter it'll hopefully be new stuff, not repeats of the original anime filler.

This new anime is supposed to be closer to the manga. But damn did the manga need fillers to pad it out and more foreshadowing on the Senshi's family issues. Maybe we'll actually learn something about Michiru and Haruka this time around. They'll probably do new filler since different characterizations equal different reactions.

Scenes I want animated:

STARTING WITH CHAPTER 1, WHERE MAMORU WALKS AROUND IN BROAD DAYLIGHT IN A SUPER HOT TUXEDO LIKE A FUCKING BOSS.

The anime sort of got this scene down, we had Usagi throwing things in MamoruÆs face, we had her making faces at him, etc.á BUT NOT WHILE HE WAS WEARING THAT SUPER FINE TUXEDO.á Not while he was planning to rob a jewelry store IN A TUXEDO because Mamoru is just that amazeballs.

Aside from Mamoru being in a tuxedo, this scene was largely kept intact by the animeùUsagi had that moment of Mamoru being like, ôDid that cat just talk?ö and her going NO WHY WOULD YOU THINK THAT NOPE THAT CAT DIDNÆT TALK HOW CAN YOU BE THAT STUPID while being TOTALLY SMOOTH.

But I want these looks right here.? The blush on UsagiÆs face as she turns away because sheÆs super attracted to that snobby jerk.? That considering look on MamoruÆs face, because he as a mission, but thereÆs something about that girl and that cat.? (But mostly the girl.)? I NEED IT.
