So most of the other sections has a Rec list already. After reading I'm here to help by Mark Doherty, which is in anycase a fabulous tale. I started to wonder if there are any stories that focus on the SM cast. If there are any fics you have read, whether, its a cross-over or otherwise that mainly focuses on the SM characters please do post them here. Below are some I have read. Sadly, the quality is limited and the main reason why I'm asking for help.

I'm Here to Help by Mark Doherty
Written in 1998, this is one of the first fics that portrayed the purification, etc as something that was not so good. A fabulous read that portrays the "villian" of the story as a symphathetic character.

The Suburban Senshi by Dr Xadium
An extremely funny parody of the Outers. And Truly Epic Hotaru trying to save her friend Usa-Chibi from such scary things such as her crush on her dad. Then on a horse (well its a pegasus but.. ;p)
http://www.suburbansenshi.com/episodes/

Nuke Em' Till they Glow by Benjamin A. Oliver
While not a strictly Sailor-Moon focused universe, its hilarious and fun enough to warrant including. Do note that its well somewhat lacking sometimes. Just a read and forget thing. Sadly florestica.com is down so I cannot post up a link but well, the comic is up.

Sailor Doom by Jalle & Orla
Pure Crack. I especially enjoyed Mars Revenge where Rei decides to take revenge on her father who failed to live up to her promise to have dinner with her again by maxxing out his credits cards. On a road trip to America, with all the Senshi. Poor Man. Venture beyond this page at your own peirl though.

Edited to properly credit Xadium for Suburban

Hmmm... don't read too much Sailor Moon unless crossed with other series. Most I do read are centered on Ami or Setsuna, whom in my opinion are a bit more flexible as characters than the others.

Focusing on a Mercury and Setsuna Romance
SM 'A Meeting Of Minds' by SoftRogue - [Status=Not Complete] - [Last Dld=06/03/2005]A extreme AU dealing with an alternate childhood and backdrop for Mercury. Dark.
SM 'Life's Blood' by Dro'gan NiteFlier - [Status=Complete] - [Last Dld=08/28/2004]A AU continuation, where all the inners but Mercury are dead. A Mercury/Setsuna match. Centers on the Stars season.
SM 'Shattered Ice Super Sailor Mercury' by shanejayell - [Status=Not Complete] - [Last Dld=10/16/2007]A odd but very intersting crossover dealing with a Usagi who is turned by Alucard. Deals with the altered character interactions because of it, who sides with her, against her, and deals with the baggage of the Hellsing Universe characters.
SM-HELLSING 'The No Life Queen' by Chaos Lord - [Status=Not Complete] - [Last Dld=12/11/2007]A early divergence story with Ami being separated from the others when attempting to rescue civilians kidnapped by the dark kingdom. She is transported to the Wheel of Time universe.
SM-WOT 'The Use Of Power' by Fire - [Status=Single File] - [Last Dld=07/17/2003]A favorite joke fic I like rereading from time to time for laughs. An introspection on how to be Tuxedo Mask.
SM 'Tuxedo Mask the Token Male' by Pandora-sama - [Status=Single File] - [Last Dld=11/10/2003]The below, and its sequel ('Love and Lament') , were among the first longer non-crossover Sailor Moon stories that truly caught my eye. An extreme AU though. It involves a romance between Ami and basically a Youma, and the consequences and fallout that occur from it. Fairly Dark, and for a Sailor Moon reader, Very Dark.
SM 'Waking Ami' by PinaPoe - [Status=Complete] - [Last Dld=01/28/2005]EDIT: by the way, looking at the following:

The Suburban Senshi by (I'm not sure who?)
An extremely funny parody of the Outers. And Truly Epic Hotaru trying to save her friend Usa-Chibi from such scary things such as her crush on her dad. Then on a horse (well its a pegasus but.. ;p)
http://www.suburbansenshi.com/episodes/
Each chapter I checked shows it as being by 'Dr. Xadium' (some show it as 'Doctor Xadium' written out)

Author: Ken Wolfe (site). Recs: Everything, including that crossover with the Draka.
Heh... never knew he wrote Sailor Moon. Only ever read his El Hazard stuff. But if the SM stuff is half as good, it should be worth the read.

Just a note: Assasin's Loyalty should probably be read before Life's Blood, for understanding purposes.

Ehhh... I read them originally out of order, and I was fine. No matter, the prequel did in fact slip my mind when posting, as did the side story.

Not a problem. Just hoping for the best result. The side-story is, however mislabled. It says that it takes place in the Silver Mellinium, when it instead takes place about 150 yrs after Life's Blood (and associated stories).

What Evil Lurks by Greg Taylor
http://web.archive.org/web/20030126194820/...org/me_wevl.txt

As far as I know, that fic can only be found through the wayback machine.

It's about 350kb long, and complete to boot.

It's kinda/sorta an AU fic, revolving around Sailor Mercury having been captured/turned by the Dark Kingdom. Yeah, the live action series had the same thing happen in a different manner. This was done long before that though, and no plushie moon cats either.

If anyone is still interested I have a couple of suggestions:

Sailor Moon Millennials by The Judge.
The bad news is that its unfinished and last updated June 2003. But its still my favourite SM story. A continuation story involving all the Senshi (including an amnesiac Pluto) with 33 long chapters the only character stiffed for screen-time is Mamoru. Love interests Urawa and Yuuichiro are remembered, Ryo especially gets his due.

The Best Sailor Moon Fanfiction on the Net created by John Hitchens.
This archive contains nothing but :yay: . My personal picks here would include the aforementioned Ken Wolfe stories (Secrets gave me a permanent :lonegunman: for Setsuna), and The Babe Wore Blue by Mark Latus, oh and Elizabeth Tuckwood's Damaged. But all these stories here deserve a read. Thank you Wayback Machine for perserving this site.

Seeing this thread necroed reminded me of fic, for some reason.

Misconception by Scott K. Jamison, or SKJAM!.

Funny fic that started out as a oneshot, and grew from there. Though I think the oneshot part was the best part.

I can recommend everything by Kihin Ranno on ff.net.
Even though it cost me half a day of my life sifting around in the shitfest that's Sailormoon-fiction, I'm convinced it was damn well worth it fo find that author.
His style is very emotionally charged and he is looking at the Sailormoon-universe from a very realistice point of view.

The two fics of his I like most are the following:
Hands Fall Together
Instead of Usagi, Mamoru is the first one to be found by Luna in season one. Mamoru, having no serious firepower, is fighting against impossible odds and when he becomes unofficial leader of the Senshi when they are found his headaches only get worse.

Forgotten Forever
The premise is that Mamoru has forgotten everyhting about the Silvermillenium and even his love for Usagi. This story explores the fallout from that twist of fate.

Unfortunately both fics aren't finished at the moment. On the plus side he writes well enough that I've reached a point where I don't really want them to end, so it's all fine as long as he keeps posting :D

Felt like necroing this thread because I just reread Heart of Sugar :snigger: and saw it wasn't on this list.

For those who haven't heard of it, here's the summary: Ben and Jason are two adventurous fanboys who decide to use a mysterious program to 'self-insert' into a Ranma ¢ storyline in the form of Ryouga and Pantyhose Tarou. However, neither bothers to read the instructionsà (SI) (Comedy / Adventure) Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon.

Yes it's an SI, but it's by Ben Oliver, the guy who wrote Nuke 'Em Til They Glow. It's hilarious and well worth the read.

Sailor Moon Trilogy This was my first fanfic and I've always rather enjoyed it. Its AU and replaces Stars. Its filled with OCs despite that the characters I found actually likable.

I've pimped out His Lordship Chaos several times since I've been on this board, but here are several of my favorites:

Cat O'Nine Tails
Cat O'Nine Tails 2
Both are Artemis-centric; a good combination of action and crack.

earth*ling
Set post Stars; Usagi waits for Mamoru and ends up meeting a very interesting young man...

Sycophant City
An twist on the typical bad guy origin.

Mad Tea Party
It was to be Chaos' last story, period; he's since returned to the fandom. A self-insert that actually made me cry. Well written, but very long.

Also, Shades of Grey and it's sequel, Shades of Darkness by Aaron Nowack. Go read. Some of the best written stuff about the Dark Kingdom is in here. It's not the focus, but still.

And of course, Sailor Moon Z by John Biles and Jeff Hosmer.

Finally, the fic I would sell my soul to see complete: Sailor Moon 4200. Excellent glimpse of a future post-Crystal Tokyo.

The Fragility of Time Is hands down the absolute best Sailor Moon Fic out there. The premise is that something fucks up the time line and Insanity and escalation ensues. A serious fic, complete, with a sequel. read it. Now. Why are you still here?

You know, this might not be the best place for this, but I really don't want to start another thread...

I rather enjoyed The Rei Trilogy by Chris Davies, and a few years ago, I remember seeing a continuation of the series... called, appropreatly enough, "The Rei Trilogy Continued".

Now I can't find it. Does anyone remember this, or have links, or have I just gone insane ... again?

I recommend Guilt is the Mother of Invention

A good fic about a more serious Usagi, that has visened up after a traumatic experience.

Guilt is the Mother of Invention by KSchmidt
Serena's guilt leads her to take drastic measures. Will she allow the Scouts and Darien to help her heal? What is going on inside her head? Will any of this change the future? UPDATED: 10 APRIL 09
Fiction Rated: T - English - Drama/Romance - Chapters: 9 - Words: 13,496 - Reviews: 43 - Updated: 4-10-09 - Published: 7-12-05 - Usagi T. & Mamoru C.

Ronin Summer
A crossover of Sailor Moon and Yoroiden Samurai Troopers (aka Ronin Warriors).
The link is to Convergence, a rewrite that hasn't been updated in a while, but the original is still linked to. As for a premise: well, let's be honest. It's a team up fic. The Sailor Scouts and Samurai Troopers are going to get together, kick some ass and maybe have a little romance on the side (teenage girls + teenage boys, it was inevitable)...

Well well. Funny to see this thread updated. I also just noticed that I never did recommend one of my old favourites:

A Little Older, A Little Wiser by Denial
Serena has been fighting alone, refusing to allow the other Scouts to be reawaken after their fight with Beryl. Now she has finally given in and is bringing them back, that is, if she can find them.
Sailor Moon - Fiction Rated: K+ - English - Adventure/Romance - Chapters: 41 - Words: 109,779 - Reviews: 904 - Updated: 8-16-04 - Published: 9-13-02 - Usagi T. & Mamoru C. - Complete

Its has an excellent idea based on a What if Serena was traumatised by the deaths of her friends and wanted to let them live a normal life. While the writing and execution is not the best, there is something compelling about it that makes you continue. Its also complete!

Sailor Moon V by Trey Stanton

I haven't read this in over a decade, so no promises on quality. I remember it as being good, but I was a different person back then with different tastes. Obligatory warning for dub names.

Sailor Moon: Omoi by Christoper Brummet/Strike Fiss

Increases markedly in quality once you get past the first few enemy-of-the-week style chapters. Written by the guy who did Higher Learning in the Eva fandom, if that means anything. One of the few SIs I enjoy.

Hmm. It was good until the end. Stupid crappy "happily ever after" ending.
