Not quite a Sailor Moon fic, it is without a doubt a very entertaining, long, and detailed Sailor Mercury fic. A portal accident lands Ami in another world, and due to events outside of her control, ends up in control of an artifact that marks her as an "Evil Overlord". What follows is Ami accidentally losing her soul to the Dark Gods of that realm, the world she's on viewing her as Evil with a Capital E, a series of fights against the other Keepers and the forces of Light, leading the story from a desperate fight for survival to Mad SCIENCE! and World Conquest. Oh, and I can't forget to mention the highly amusing and embarrassing situations and rumors that start to spread about her. ^_^

<a href='http://www.megaupload.com/?d=30EBE908' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>I compiled this fic</a> into a pair of HTML files (as one big one, it made my computer hiccup, and it's pretty strong) with the author's permission. For people that don't like reading stuff on Addventure.

I was especially amused when Ami faces off against some Magical Girl fairies that wouldn't be out of place amongst her own team and Jadeite, watching from her command center, is laughing at the irony. Drunk!Ami is also hilarious.

It's an incredibly amusing and fun fic. Oh, if you want to keep following new updates from my compilation (as of 6/3/11), just click on the episode number link of the last chapter and see if any of the choice links on it have lit up. Check the pen name to make sure it's the same guy and not somebody cutting in, which may happen from time to time, though the ones so far have only done one-shots.

I'm beginning to think somebody should make an FFN community of the TFF recs here.

Mainly because just about every community I can see is exclusively devoted to a romance pairing, with none really focusing on actual 'good' fics.

Agreed. I wish someone (with talent) had taken it up after Fire stopped writing.

I don't think anyone in fanfiction, no matter the fandom, would have done it justice. Maybe it's nostalgia, but it seemed that Fire was just that good.

Fire did epic extremely well, though his actual writing is middle of the road. He's to much tell rather then show, though he was getting better. His WoT/SM crossover was a huge backslide from what I remember, though I put that down to him not writing for a while before it came out.

Fire's Vengeance And A Half, a very good, very serious, very old and unfortunately very abandoned Sailor Moon fic. It was first published in 2000 and hasn't been updated since 2001 - it's my understanding the author died in early 2002. It and Red Moon were both works of high quality compared to the author's earlier fics (all three of which I lost interest in just reading the summaries), so his loss was a big blow to the early fanfiction community.

Edit: Just realized Fire was mentioned on the last page. Granted, 'the last page' was two years ago, so...

Well yeah, despite having over 30k fics on FFN most of it is trashy romance and the ilk :O

(though for some of us, there never *used* to be a 'last page' but now we can only have 50 posts per page max instead of 90, grumble grumble...)
