Another broad request: Any stories that feature Ami's relationship with her mother that actually follow canon? I've noticed that when Mizuno-sensei is in a story she and Ami are invariably close and don't have a normal mother-daughter relationship. Sorry just rereading Progeny, toying with an idea, and I sort of noticed that if Mizuno-sensei is in a story, their relationship is either like in that or like in Waking Ami and wanted to know if there where any where it's different.

I'd note that Waking Ami, as much as I actually liked that story (well, at least the main arc, it sort of jumped shark in later arcs), is not really remotely canon...
I'd also note, Mrs. Mizuno, at least in the original series, had almost no actual presence... thus there is very little to base any sort of relationship on.
I tend toward crossovers, and very little non-crossover Sailor Moon, thus I would have little to recommend on a relationship front that would be even close to canon.
I could list a bunch of non-crossover and non-canon stories centered on Ami herself... but that also would not help.

You cannot know that... just because she is not in the canon material much does not mean there is a bad or unhealthy one.
There are not much in way of police in the series shown either, but that does not mean there were no investigations.
Another issue, the original series had the major issue of the fact that the sub and dub portrayed events differently... Exaple, we know Jupiter's mom at least is alive in dub, even if never mentioned in sub.
