Let's say that, with the addition of Asuka, the number of girls in Shinji's class no-longer equals the number of boys (no, I haven't counted up all the students in that class, but just go with it, please). When the 'pretend to be married' assignment comes up, the teacher looks at the class demographic, and decides that since Asuka is both the new girl, and a bitch, he's going to do something that will massively annoy her, and since Rei and Shinji are so passive, he'll get away with it.
Thus, when the couples are assigned, the teacher congratulates Shinji on getting both a wife and a mistress (though he leaves it up to the three of them which is which), and says that for purposes of this assignment, they have a saishoudoukin relationship, all three sharing the same household.
I kind of think Asuka will be even more annoyed than she was in 'I Do'.
If you strongly dislike Rei/Shinji, even in a mock-threesome, you could have Shinji with Asuka and Hikari, but that wouldn't annoy Asuka as much, and might annoy the Class Rep (unless she requested it). Alternatively, you could say that Kirishima Mana is the extra girl, and put her with Shinji and Asuka (or Shinji and Rei, but that could be too close to 'I Do'; maybe he has a wife and two mistresses, though).
So, thoughts?
