Naruto Sakura in Sound

I really want to do a story of a drabble I did a little while ago - Old Love - which is available on My LJ.

Basicaly, Sakura, fed up with being the weakest member of her group (not to mention the Rookie Nine), accepts Orochimaru's mark and goes to Sound.

Now, I know there are problems with this - Orochi is attracted to powerful shinobi, and Sakura isn't really one (at this time; Part2 Sakura is another story); but she could have gotten bit accidentally. The question is: would Sasuke, after seeing how much power Sakura displays beating the crap out of the Sound trio, decide to go with her?

Part of me says yes, considering his insecurity about his own power and abilities, especially after Tsunade returns and Naruto shows off the Rasengan. Or would he stay and train under Kakashi? Would he accept that, considering Naruto is training under a Sannin? (Kakashi's good, but I doubt he can take Jiraiya.)

I suck at long, multichap fics, tho, so while I might try my hand at it, anyone who wants to take the idea and run with it can do so.

Accidently posted this on the Misc.Anime/Manga Idea forum; oops...

Eh...I'm not really a Sakura fan, so right off the bat this idea doesn't really grab my attention. That being said....

I can see Sakura accidently getting the seal by getting in Oro-chan's way. However, I really don't see her surviving the thing (it's supposed to be 90% fatal, Oro-chan was taking a risk giving the sucker to Sasgay)

Sakura has family in Konoha, and she was still super devoted to Sasuke right up to his defection (and beyond I think, some people have said Part 2 has hints of Naru/Saku but I haven't read that steaming pile yet) So even if she's fed up with being weak (which pretty much happens in canon, during the Sound Nins attack in the Forest of Death. Course relying on biting someone when you have a kunai in hand and can stab them instead...yeah, small wonder she feels weak) I can't see her willing leaving the village. Supposedly the Curse Seal twists the user to want to be about Oro-chan and lick his feet; but I always figured it'd be a subtle twisting unless the user was REALLY power hungry. And Sakura moping about being weak doesn't strike me as being power hungry.

That and even if he'd missed I see Oro-chan just repeating the process, perhaps after sneering at Sakura's futile attempt. Now that I've finished spouting off my opinions on the matter; if you really wanted to do a fic about Sakura running to sound it'd be better to just have Sasuke accept her offer to run away with him. He might accept just because he figures knocking her out and leaving her will sound the alarm before he gets a good distance away. Or for some linger sentimental reason. Or he might just like the idea of having a familiar face about Snake-land. No Curse-Seal!Sakura required.

Or because he knows what that'd do to Naruto, he's petty like that ;)

Though that'd be an interesting concept, Naruto being abandoned by both his teammates.. makes one wonder if he'll be all; "I gotta rescue Sasuke and Sakura from Oro! zomg!", or if he'd finally wake up and decide to go about it a different way; "fuck 'em, next time I see them I'll make a SasuSaku smoothie with a rasengan". :)

Well going that vein, you can bring up the over-used plot of the villagers blaming Naruto for the defections; seeing as two ninjas defected to go work for the guy that offed the Third. And both of those nins are his teammates.

Heh, what if Sasuke allowed Sakura to come along with him, but only so he can use her to gain Mangekyou Sharingan when he feels ready for the advancement? Not only would this help prove what a bastard Sasgay is, but it'd get ridda the pink wonder as well.

I don't think it's humanly possible to decide to make a new best friend with the intention of killing them.. especially if that new best friend is one of the most irritating people on the planet :p

Eh, it was just a thought. Although, your suggestions were more along the lines of what I could see happening, Bob.

Dunno, if you go by what Sasuke says at the Valley of the End (in the anime at least) he deliberately distanced himself from people so he'd be certain who his best friend was. Course that coulda been an outright lie to upset Naruto. and I suppose you have a point, making Sakura his best friend when she's still in her highly whiney and annoying stage would be nearly impossible.

Uhm, Sasuke distanced himself from people because he was severly traumatized by what Itachi did, figured that if he let anyone get close to him ever again he would lose them, just as he lost his family. Not because he wanted to 'weed out' as many as possible so it'd be easier to find his 'best friend'.

That's the kind of thinking I'd expect from emotionally crippled people like Itachi and Orochimaru, psychopats who only interacts with other people if they have something to gain from it.

And I doubt they'd succeed if they tried, you don't go around and decide who's gonna be your best friend, or act like an asshole until someone finally tries to reach out too you.

I could see him take her along as a sacrifice to his sharingan, seeing as he didn't have it in himself to kill Naruto. He might kill her thinking a distant second place for best friend would be enough. He would of course then have a massive emo moment when her death didn't evolve his sharingan.
