Chapter 1 Decisions, Decisions
Skuld was lying on the floor of her room with a scowl on her face. She was frustrated about lots of things, and right now she had no one she could talk to about any of her problems. Sentaro was not able to visit; he was busy with his exams for the Advanced Placement classes for High School for this next year. His parents had also put him on a two-week restriction before and during testing to help him mentally prepare for those exams. It wasnÆt that his folks thought she was a bad influence on him; quite the opposite really she had spent better then a month before helping him study for those exams during most of their free time. She was sure that he would do fine and pass his exams.
There was Urd ôRrrrrrrà No way am I going to ask that bulbous head HELP MEö. She could normally take her problems to her OnÚesan; but Bell was busy with work and planning several other upcoming things. Megumi or Chihiro would be happy enough to talk to her about her problems with Bell so busy right now; but they didnÆt know the three sisters were really Goddesses so she really couldnÆt talk to them.
There was K1à But he was part of her problemsàöUugggggàhow could he have pulled that off without me getting any idea it was comingö Yesterday was Valentines day and K1 and OnÚesan worked late because Chihiro had a big date. After closing they stopped at a little restaurant for dinner before coming home. The second they got back to the Temple she could feel that something was very different. Their emotions were resonating so bad it could have almost knocked her over. Urd immediately had an idea what happened she just got this stupid smile on her face. Then Keiichi looked at Belldandy then back at her two sisters and said; ôBelldandy and I have decided to get Married this summer.ö
½Man; how could he have just told us like that? She wasnÆt really mad at them, just shocked. After Celestine escaped and was defeated, and they both had survived the Judgment Gate it was just a matter of time before this happened. They had already received Heavens Blessings.
ôMistress Skuld; àwhat is bothering you?ö Skuld sat up quickly and turned to see Sigel looking at her.
ôOohhhà nothing much really I supposeà Sigel what do you think about Belldandy and KeiichiÆs announcement last night?ö
Sigel tilted her head to the side for a minute and considered the question. ôI am not sure how I feel about that. Miss Bell and K1 have been together for a long time and do have feelings for each other. But I have not spent much time thinking how this change will have an effect on myself.ö She nodded he head to emphasis her point.
~Swoosh~ The door to Skulds room opened and Banpei came in the room and stopped next to Sigel. She scowled at the round robot. ôI said stop following meà Just because I Like You doesnÆt mean that you can follow me everywhere. PEERVerttttàö With that Sigel was on her feet with wheels down and racing out of the room and down the hallway, with Banpei in hot pursuit.
Belldandy quickly dodged to the side of the hallway to avoid being run over by the racing twosome. After they were well gone she continued into SkuldÆs room. As she entered she could tell her imoot¾ was bothered by something. She also had a good idea what that was. In her calm and quite voice; ôSkuld is their something bothering youà Would you like to talk about it.ö
Skuld turned to look up at her sister. ôOnÚesan; mmmmà Well itÆsà Ahhhà not reallyö ~RRINNGG RRinnggg~ Her answer was cut short by the phone. Bell turned to look back towards the hall phone.
ôIÆm Sorry Skuld, Just let me get the phone quickly and I will be right back.ö Skuld nodded as Bell turned out of the room and went down the hall to answer the phone.
½Brotherà Am I ready to tell OnÚesan what is really bothering meà? While she waited her mind went on to think about other thingsà Sentaro was getting ready to start High School. Would he still want to spend time with her? She started to get a little nervous about what might happen. He was her best friend and she didnÆt want him to go. ½Maybe its Like OnÚesan says, that I love himà But I donÆt know if I love him like she Loves Keiichià? She would have to think about this some more laterà ½but what if he doesnÆt want to be around me any moreà What If maybe I couldà? Skuld made what she felt might be in important decision about her life. ôMaybe OnÚesan can help me make this happen; Yeaà and it would be good for me tooö
Bell came back into her room a concerned look on her face. She saw Skuld looking at her anxiously and turned to look towards Urds door. ôUrd; can you come here for a moment, I need to see you Please.ö She looked back at Skuld and waited patiently for Urd to get here. Skuld decided to wait a bit before she told Bell about what she wanted to do; at least until after Urd was gone again. She didnÆt want to put up with UrdÆs teasing.
Urd came in after just a few seconds and stood next to Bell. ôOkay Sis; whatÆs up.ö Bell looked at both of her sisters for a second then sighed; took and deep calming breathe.
ôI just got off the phone with Father and He said that he would like you both home right now; so He could talk to you about somethingàö Skuld was surprised by this because her sister looked very Nervous. Skuld nodded to her and got up off the floor She could tell that Bell would be ready to talk to her about everything when she got back.
ôSuppose; Oh well itÆs best not to keep Father waiting.ö Urd turned and followed Skuld out of her room and went to the TV in the main room. Skuld walked down the hall to the bath and opened her portal to go to the Fountain outside the Main Administrative Building.
ôFather; I hope that youÆre not mad with anything that IÆve done.ö Belldandy walked down the hall to the kitchen so she could finish making lunch for Keiichi-kun. ½Skuld we can talk about everything after you get back.?

After Skuld stepped out of the fountain she glanced around the Courtyard. ôRrrrrrà Where is Urd? Knowing her she probably came through someoneÆs terminal straight into the Main Buildingö She walked across the Courtyard and into the Main Admin building. Looking around the foyer she spotted Urd standing by the main hallway waiting for her. She scowled and shook her head in frustration and walked over to her oldest sister.
ôHayà What took you so long Kiddoàö She had that stupid grin on her face again and it was getting on Skulds nerves.
ôUnlike You; I donÆt like to portal thru to some unsuspecting Goddesses desk. I was taught better manners then that.ö Skuld let a superior smile grace her lips.
ôSorry Kid; You forget I have a front office in Admin.ö She said this as they walked past her office door; she knocked on the beautifully inlayed wood door in passing. ôI donÆt work in a small closet in the back of the building. Bwa ha ha haàö Skuld just scowled back and Hummmped. They continued on down the hall; as they were passing YggdrasilÆs Main Operations room. Three young Goddesses walked out giggling and carrying on a quiet conversation about what to buy at the Goddess Mall now that their shift was over. They stopped and looked at who they had almost run into. The group consisted of Ex, Ere, and Chrono. They immediately got quiet and stepped out of their way.
ôSo sorry, MaÆam we didnÆt see you in the hall.ö Ex replied for the trio.
A scowl was now firmly in place on Urds face. ôYeaà Yeaà DonÆt you ladies forget I am Supervisor Tomorrow, and you had better not be late for your shift.ö
ôYes; MaÆamö All three replied in unison, and quickly made their way to the foyer.
Urd and Skuld continued down the hall towards FatherÆs Audience Chamber. ôWell Urd; I see you still have everyone scared to be around you at work.ö Skuld smiled inwardly.
ôHay Kid just remember Work, is Work they donÆt need to like me when IÆm running things they just need to do their best. I am able to be as friendly as the next guy when everything is done.ö They came to two large double doors at the end of the hall the Valkyrie at each door opened as the sisters approached.
ôKami-Sama is expecting you.ö The sisters walked in past the doors as they were shut behind them, and up to the large desk near the back of their Fathers office. The big leather chair behind the desk turned around and their father looked at his two daughters and smiled.
ôHello girls; I hope every thing has been fine for you on the surface lately.ö
ôYes Father, Everything has been just fine.ö Skuld looked a little sheepish and started to examine her shoes.
Urd looked at her littlest sister for a second then turned back to her Father. ôSure everything has been fine. But I am sure you didnÆt ask us up here so promptly just to discuss the Weather.ö
Kami-samaÆs smile got even bigger at his eldest daughters statement. ôWhy daughter you wound me, is it not Okay for a father to simply wish to speak with his wonderful daughters from time to time.ö
Urd decided she was in a slightly playful mood, ôOf course Father, that is fine with me but I thought you wanted to tell me that you were going to lift my current license suspension.ö She decided that for good measure she would try using the æSad Puppy Dog EyesÆ attackÖ just for good measure. The end results were less then she expected.
Skuld just shook her head; their Father leaned clear back into his chair and laughed. A rich booming laughter that seemed to fill the whole office. It only took a few moments for the Almighty to regain his composure.
ôSorry Urd, you still have four months, seventeen days, and about nine hours left on that last suspension. But after that little show I might be able to give you a few days grace period after all.ö He smiled, looking at both his daughters for a second. ôBut, you are correct in that I needed to talk to you about your sisters engagement and pending marriage. I just wanted to find out how you really felt about thisàö
Urd just smiled, while Skuld made a show of examining her footwear. But it was Urd who managed to answer her father first. ôPersonally, I think itÆs about time. Those two have been dancing around each other; almost since the day they met. IÆve almost given myself fits trying too get those two together, without much success.ö Skuld just hummmped,

As Urd walked out of her Fathers office she practically walked into Peorth who was carrying several file folders and busy reviewing her notes. As Urd noticed whom it was she ran into she got a big sneaky grin on her face.
Peorth looked at the person who tried knocking her off her feet, but she was blessed with beauty as well as grace. Then she noticed the expression on the Platinum haired GoddessÆs face. ½This canÆt be goodà what in heaven is she up to now?? ôWhy Hello Urd; and what brings you all the way up here on such a wondrous day?ö
ôWhy Hello Peorth, I just had a little chat with Father, about Bell and K1Æs recent engagement. But if your waiting for him maybe youÆd be willing to help me out a little?ö her smile got a little less predatory but might also be a little larger.
Peorth started to do some quick figuring of what she might be up too; She was not in the mood to get wrapped up in some crazy scheme. ôWhy Yes I am, but what could I do to help you?ö
ôOhà nothing too much. Skuld stayed to talk to Father about something. But what ever it is I know I will be the last one sheÆll tell. I just wanted too, confirm some suspicions. If you could just kind ofà listen in while your waiting; I would appreciate the heads up is all.ö
Mildly surprised, ôI donÆt see what that would hurt. That is if I would just happen to overhear anything.ö
ôGreat if you do, just stop by the house latter. IÆll even treat you to lunch at this little Mexican restaurant I found not to far from the Messeö
ôWell that sounds nice IÆll see you latter then after I get off shift.ö Now she had a big smile on her face, If Urd was willing to treat to a meal this would be worth the effort.

ôKei, we really should hurry so we can get home.ö ½That sounded like OnÚesan, down this hall? She walked back to the front hall and looked, but all she saw was a glimpse of a couple turning a corner clear down the hallway, what she noticed most was the ladyÆs red hair.
ôSkuld, Keiichi the office is over this way.ö Skuld turned around at her sistersÆ voice; to see her standing where she just left a second ago when she thought she had heard her sister. Skuld walked back to Keiichi who was looking at a bulletin board with pictures of many of the schools events from the last year.
ôKeiichi, come on.ö Skuld said with a little exasperation in her voice. ôOnÚesan is waiting for you.ö She grabbed KeiichisÆ shirtsleeve and started to pull him away. ôOnÚesan, where did you go I thought I heard you down that hallway.ö She pointed to the hallway she had heard the voice from.
ôSilly, I asked the nice custodian over there, for directions to the school office. You do want to get there and get enrolled for classes starting this term donÆt you?ö Bell smiled at her imoot¾ she knew that this was what she wanted most right now, and she was glad to help.

Keiichi was getting a bit frustrated after returning from Makuhari High school, and just flopped down at the table and put his head in his hands. ôBell where are we going to come up with the money to get Skuld a new laptop. Those things are expensive, and even I donÆt have one. Your Father had given permission for her to attend school here but IÆm sure heÆs just not going to put Ñ300,000 into our bank account just so we can get her oneà Maybe I could get something from the discount stores for about Ñ100,000 but still we donÆt have that kind of money. And we canÆt let her create her own, she needs to have something that wonÆt draw attention to heràö
Belldandy could totally understand why her fiancÚ was so distraught, she knew Urd had already gotten some money from Father to get SkuldÆs uniforms and a new book bag. But Keiichi was right Skuld had to have a laptop made by some company here on Midgard, and as she was to be in the AP class there it really couldnÆt be something to old, or very cheep. She decided to sit down behind Keiichi and wrapped her arms around his waist, after a few seconds he sat up more and leaned back into her embrace.
After a few minutes of this she decided to voice an idea she had come to her. ôKei-kun, I had an idea. Maybe if you posted a note on the Student Board on campus, maybe someone will sell us their old one. It seems to me many of the students are constantly buying new or upgrading their old computers. We could always have some luck there and find something not to old, that maybe we could afford. And if we need a little more money, I know Chihiro would let me sell some extra snacks and baked goods at the shop, people always seem to enjoy them when we have specials going on.ö
Keiichi smiled and turned around in BelldandyÆs embrace enough so he could see her face, ôYou know Bell, thatÆs a really good idea. And now would be the best time to check. The beginning or the end of a termÆs always when students are unloading or looking for new stuff.ö He thought for just a few seconds, ôBut before I go, do we have anything to eat. I could be on campus or talking to people selling their old laptops the better part of the afternoon?ö
Bell just smiled and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek, ôSure I can have some lunch ready in less then twenty minutes. You just relax a bit and maybe get a flier or two made up to post on campus, and IÆll be right back.ö She got up and headed into the little kitchen to get things fixed.

The end results were less then she expected.
Skuld just shook her head; their Father leaned clear back into his chair and laughed. A rich booming laughter that seemed to fill the whole office. It only took a few moments for the Almighty to regain his composure.
ôSorry Urd, you still have four months, seventeen days, and about nine hours left on that last suspension. But after that little show I might be able to give you a few days grace period after all.ö He smiled, looking at both his daughters for a second. ôBut, you are correct in that I needed to talk to you about your sisters engagement and pending marriage. Urd just smiled, while Skuld made a show of examining her footwear. But it was Urd who managed to answer her father first. ôPersonally, I think itÆs about time. Those two have been dancing around each other; almost since the day they met. IÆve almost given myself fits trying too get those two together, without much success.ö Skuld just hummmped,

As Urd walked out of her Fathers office she practically walked into Peorth who was carrying several file folders and busy reviewing her notes. As Urd noticed whom it was she ran into she got a big sneaky grin on her face.
Peorth looked at the person who tried knocking her off her feet, but she was blessed with beauty as well as grace. Then she noticed the expression on the Platinum haired GoddessÆs face. ½This canÆt be goodà what in heaven is she up to now?? ôWhy Hello Urd; and what brings you all the way up here on such a wondrous day?ö
ôWhy Hello Peorth, I just had a little chat with Father, about Bell and K1Æs recent engagement. But if your waiting for him maybe youÆd be willing to help me out a little?ö her smile got a little less predatory but might also be a little larger.
Peorth started to do some quick figuring of what she might be up too; She was not in the mood to get wrapped up in some crazy scheme. ôWhy Yes I am, but what could I do to help you?ö
ôOhà nothing too much. Skuld stayed to talk to Father about something. But what ever it is I know I will be the last one sheÆll tell. I just wanted too, confirm some suspicions. If you could just kind ofà listen in while your waiting; I would appreciate the heads up is all.ö

ôWell that sounds nice IÆll see you latter then after I get off shift.ö Now she had a big smile on her face, If Urd was willing to treat to a meal this would be worth the effort.

ôKei, we really should hurry so we can get home.ö ½That sounded like OnÚesan, down this hall? She walked back to the front hall and looked, but all she saw was a glimpse of a couple turning a corner clear down the hallway, what she noticed most was the ladyÆs red hair.
ôSkuld, Keiichi the office is over this way.ö Skuld turned around at her sistersÆ voice; to see her standing where she just left a second ago when she thought she had heard her sister. Skuld walked back to Keiichi who was looking at a bulletin board with pictures of many of the schools events from the last year.
ôKeiichi, come on.ö Skuld said with a little exasperation in her voice. ôOnÚesan is waiting for you.ö She grabbed KeiichisÆ shirtsleeve and started to pull him away. ôOnÚesan, where did you go I thought I heard you down that hallway.ö She pointed to the hallway she had heard the voice from.
ôSilly, I asked the nice custodian over there, for directions to the school office. You do want to get there and get enrolled for classes starting this term donÆt you?ö Bell smiled at her imoot¾ she knew that this was what she wanted most right now, and she was glad to help.

Keiichi was getting a bit frustrated after returning from Makuhari High school, and just flopped down at the table and put his head in his hands. ôBell where are we going to come up with the money to get Skuld a new laptop. Those things are expensive, and even I donÆt have one. Your Father had given permission for her to attend school here but IÆm sure heÆs just not going to put Ñ300,000 into our bank account just so we can get her oneà Maybe I could get something from the discount stores for about Ñ100,000 but still we donÆt have that kind of money. And we canÆt let her create her own, she needs to have something that wonÆt draw attention to heràö
Belldandy could totally understand why her fiancÚ was so distraught, she knew Urd had already gotten some money from Father to get SkuldÆs uniforms and a new book bag. But Keiichi was right Skuld had to have a laptop made by some company here on Midgard, and as she was to be in the AP class there it really couldnÆt be something to old, or very cheep. She decided to sit down behind Keiichi and wrapped her arms around his waist, after a few seconds he sat up more and leaned back into her embrace.
After a few minutes of this she decided to voice an idea she had come to her. ôKei-kun, I had an idea. Maybe if you posted a note on the Student Board on campus, maybe someone will sell us their old one. It seems to me many of the students are constantly buying new or upgrading their old computers. We could always have some luck there and find something not to old, that maybe we could afford. And if we need a little more money, I know Chihiro would let me sell some extra snacks and baked goods at the shop, people always seem to enjoy them when we have specials going on.ö
Keiichi smiled and turned around in BelldandyÆs embrace enough so he could see her face, ôYou know Bell, thatÆs a really good idea. And now would be the best time to check. The beginning or the end of a termÆs always when students are unloading or looking for new stuff.ö He thought for just a few seconds, ôBut before I go, do we have anything to eat. I could be on campus or talking to people selling their old laptops the better part of the afternoon?ö
Bell just smiled and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek, ôSure I can have some lunch ready in less then twenty minutes. You just relax a bit and maybe get a flier or two made up to post on campus, and IÆll be right back.ö She got up and headed into the little kitchen to get things fixed.
