ôCREEEEPEEEEEER!ö
ôRAAAARGH!ö The Creeper cried out in pain as his right arm was forcefully removed. He started writing around on the ground in agony under the Werewolf's feet, his blood pooling in to join Gator Ghoul's, Iron Face's and Jaguaro's. They all were strong monsters in their own right-at least in the cyber world-but they couldn't hold a candle to the strength and the pure rage of the lupine. ôRrrr... Yrr... Trrrn.ö The savage monster let go of the removed appendage and turned to her next prey, blood dripping from her muzzle, dirtying her teeth and claws.
ô... Boy, are you something else, girlie.ö The Virus stated, amused. He had recognized the girl by the signature of the electric data she was currently made of. He then laughed creepily. ôI wonder what would that lanky lad think of you if he saw you like this.ö The werewolf visibly winced at that. ôYeah, I guess you could hide the freak that you are as long as you were all nice, petite and pretty, but right now? You're one hundred percent horror. The blood is superflous. No wonder he ran.ö
ô... RAAAAAAH HUUP!ö The hulking loup-garou lunged at the Virus, ready to tear into him. ôRAAH?!ö Only to pass right through him.
ôStupid, are you? I'm data to begin with, and here on the last level, I can manipulate data freely!ö The Virus stated with a booming laughter. He then turned around, his fingers crackling. Winnie's eyes widened.
ôRAAAAUUUUURH!ö She howled out in pain as an electrical discharge singed and burned fur and flesh alike, her muscles going out of control. The pain lasted for a few seconds, after which she was left writhing on the ground, even if her wounds were already starting to close up.
ôWell, will you look at that... No sense in wasting further energy, then.ö Winnie suddenly flinched as she felt something wet and slimy touch her right leg. She turned around to lay eyes on the Tar Monster, which had disappeared in the middle of the previous brawl. She slashed with her claws. Tar flew a few meters, before splashing on the ground and then sneaking back to the monster's main body. ôData isn't as slash-resistent as tar, but, hey. Suffocating you works just as well for me!ö
ôRAAAAH!ö Winnie slashed and kicked and bit, but she just obtained a mouth full of tar and a horrible taste on her tongue. The Tar Monster just kept on building up in volume, enveloping her in smelling mud.
ôI bet you won't get tired anytime soon, but as soon as the air-supply goes... Buh-bye, puppy girl.ö The damn blueish thing was right, and she knew it.
Already she felt the mud edging closer and closer to her nostrils, her legs already under too much weight for her to stand up again. She struggled and slashed, but the amorphous mass just went back together. And yet, her rage didn't let up, even as her face was covered by tar. She didn't even think about holding her breath, she just kept fighting. Fury still dominated her mind, except for a tiny part. A single, treasured spot in her memories from a single school year from when she was still wore blue, of a tall man with a heart of gold. 'Coach...' The air was almost gone, no matter her capacity in that form. Couple with the calming effect the man's smile had on her, her struggling stopped...
Then, the Tar Monster stopped as well, with the sound of rushing air and cold. The Tar Monster got slower and more solid as its temperature dropped.
ôLike, get away from her!ö With a swing of a fire extinguisher, the monsterÆs head and a chunk of its body was knocked away, giving Winnie a chance to cough out some of the tar that had gotten into her nose and mouth. The tar seemed to fall off a bit as Shaggy got in to check the young werewolf.
ôWinnie? Winnie, come on, like, speak to me.ö
Winnie just let out a pained growl, which was quickly drowned out by the cackle of the Virus, and Shaggy felt the tar around him surge back, now covering him as it recovered Winnie.
ôWell, well, a boy and his doggy.ö
Shaggy grunted as he struggled, ôLike, l-let her go.ö
ôWow, even when sheÆs all hairy? IÆm surprised you recognized her, unless you already knew...ö The virus cackled as the tar closed in on ShaggyÆs head, ôSo thatÆs your kinda girl, eh? Well, sorry kid, but both of you came in swinging, and both of you struck out, so itÆs Game Over.ö
Shaggy struggled as the tar closed around his head. He could still feel Winnie in his arms, but she wasnÆt moving, it was just darkness, broken only by the muffled cackle of the virus.
Gang...Shaggy thought, as his life seemed to flash before his eyes, their first mysteries, their break up, the thirteen ghosts, Scrappy, Flimflam, the Boo Brothers, the girls at Grimwood.
Winnie...His thoughts turned back to his old student. It wasnÆt fair, she wasnÆt supposed to be here, first heÆd dragged her into the mess with Revolta, and now she was going to die because of him, it shouldnÆt be like this, it wasnÆt fair...
Deep within the lanky man, something seemed to clickà
The Phantom Virus cackled as he walked away, now he just needed to revive the monster and take care of those other meddlers and-
*Gurble*
Turning back, he saw the Tar Monster start to violently shudder, and start to inflate like a balloon. The virus couldnÆt tell what was happening, and it just kept getting error messages. The Tar MonsterÆs glass-dome of an eye glowed blue as began to crack, before the giant tar bubble popped, sending a shockwave that sent the virus flying hard into a lightpole.
Catching his breath, Shaggy looked around, only seeing the groaning virus, the splattered remains of the Tar Monster, and the quickly fading blue light around him and Winnie, who was catching her breath with consciousness quickly returning.
ôWhat happened?ö
ôThatÆs what IÆd like to know,ö The virus said as it climbed back to its feet, ôNo matter, you want something done right, you have to do it yourself,ö it formed a ball of blue energy, ôNo more extra innings for you,ö the ball disappeared, and its body began to fizz, ôWHAT!? NOOOOOO!ö
Shaggy observed the monster until it exploded in blue light. "I guess that means the guys found the last of the Scooby Snacks." He sighed in relief, then turning to the kneeling werewolf. "You okay, Winnie?"
His voice, her name, the full moon disappeared from the sky, but it was the shame that prompted her to turn back to her human shape. She ended up kneeling naked in the middle of the floor, but she wasnÆt bothering to move. Her important places were covered by her hands, her tights closed around them, and her long hair, allowed to fall by her bowed head. Not because of any modesty, but from the desire to hide her face and hands.
"Zoinks! Better cover you up!" Shaggy removed his tee, kneeling in front of Winnie. She still didnÆt move. "Win?"
"... You saw." He blushed at that. He was about to retort that he didn't look at her private places, but she cut him off. "You saw me as I... My War Form." The blush disappeared. Then, there were tears trailing down her cheeks. "... You must hate me, now, don-don't you, Coach?" She hiccuped. Shaggy understood. He touched her face. "N-No! Coach!" She sent her hands up, blood sticking to his wrists as Winnie tried to stop him.
"Winnie!" She flinched at his harsh voice. "Look at me." He said. Winnie hiccupped but slowly complied. As she searched his hard eyes, the blood all around her mouth and even on her nose, tears washing some of it and becoming crimson on the way down. Shaggy stared at her a little more and then smiled, surprising the girl.
"... Coach? Hmmmph!" Her face was suddenly covered with fabric, wiping harshly at her face and nose. "BlphrAAAAAH!" Winnie gasped as she finally got back to much needed air, her face going from blue to red. "C-Coach! That was mea-WAH!"
"Well, couldn't have the guys find your face all bloody and stuff! Like, they'd think you have the bloodiest nose ever!" He said with a grin while he pulled his t-shirt down until she cooperated and her head and arms popped through the holes. She could only answer with confusion to his gestures. Then, he patted her head. She blushed. "Hey, Win." He smiled tenderly at her. "Thanks for protecting us."
She kept on staring. Then, she smiled but she couldnÆt keep the tears from flowing. "Coach!" She threw her arms around his neck, hugging him tightly. He just laughed and hugged her back.
"Okay. Why are they both half naked and why are they nonetheless hugging?!" Velma exclaimed in outrage and embarrassment, the rest of the group in various states of redness.
