Synopsis: A version of the Sentry, infected by a universe-jumping super-zombie virus, punches through the barriers between dimensions and crashes in Times Square, New York City, on Earth-2149. The Avengers arrive and investigate, but are quickly infected by the contagion and begin to prey upon the populace. The virus eventually spreads to almost every super-powered or costumed being on the planet, and they consume most of the human population in a single day. The resulting desolate Earth is roamed by bands of super-zombies, looking for food and consumed by hunger.

The Problems: Edited due to Genocide's post below. However, I still retain one objection:

On a personal note: You ate Magneto. You bastards!

The whole universe actually has a lot of potential, depending on how you use it. This will be a bit different take from the previous SbaD threads though, in that this idea is for a TV series based upon the Marvel Zombies universe. It is not, however, the same universe as Earth-2149...

Marvel Zombies-The Series

Written with suggestions and input from Fanboyimus Prime

It has been two months since the other Sentry fell to this Earth and caused the zombie outbreak. Most of the major cities are in ruins, the remainders largely deserted or, in the case of Wakanda's capital and Castle Doomstadt, are protected by defenses even the super-zombies can't break through. With a large amount of food in less-heavily defended areas, the zombies decide to save these places for last. Even so, the global population has been halved-Either by being eaten, by resulting disasters caused by the breakdown in central authority, or by being turned into zombies themselves.

In New York, another Reed Richards from another universe steps into this nightmarish world, tricked by his zombie counterpart. He meets this universe's Magneto while fleeing from the zombies: The mutant Master of Magnetism has been gathering and protecting what few survivors he can due to the fact that it was he who released the viral agent upon the world in an effort to lower the number of humans. It was a near thing, but Magneto and the Ultimate universe Mr. Fantastic were able to get the survivors to the means that brought Richards here. Magneto stayed behind to destroy the transporter, to trap the zombies in their home universe.

In another timeline, Magneto would fall to these zombies, defiantly screaming "I hope you choke on me!" to the undead heroes as he was consumed. But here... Fate has a funny way of intervening even in the darkest of hours. An advanced Blackbird-like jet appears, blasting the zombies and burying them in the surrounding rubble of buildings to allow Magneto to be picked up. Before the undead can claw their way out, the jet speeds off, using an advanced cloaking device to escape detection.

Aboard, Magneto meets Lt. Colonel Maria Hill, of the United States Air Force. With the loss of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and numerous other officers in the military, she is left as one of the highest ranking military personnel in the US armed forces. Under General Thaddeus Ross, the remnants of the US military has been coordinating with what's left of NATO, SEATO, and the militaries of China and the Former Soviet Bloc in an effort to organize an effective counter-offensive against the zombie outbreak and to protect and move refugees. The Blackbird fleet, a group of prototype aircraft similar to the X-Men's jet but with advanced technology independently developed by a few companies, has been operating out of Area 51 to find survivors and make attacks upon isolated zombie areas, as well as find superhumans who have not been turned.

Magneto, keenly feeling the guilt of his actions (but obviously not telling Hill this), offers Asteroid M as a haven from the zombie menace. Hill agrees and with Magneto's considerable help, they begin moving refugees and supplies up to the asteroid, using the advanced cloaking technology of the Blackbirds to conceal their efforts. The Acolytes keep silent about their involvement in bringing the plague as more humans take up residence in the Asteroid, and cooperate as best they can.

Among the surviving superheroes are War Machine, Shadowcat, Forge, Ares, Black Panther and Magma, with a smattering of other heroes and some villains who take refuge on Asteroid M. General Ross reserves them for special missions only, given that the virus specifically targets those with superpowers.

Over the course of the next few months, members of Blackbird squadron and other members of the Global Resistance engage in a wide variety of missions-From supporting an assault on the Baxter Building to prevent the zombified Fantastic Four from creating a new dimensional transporter, to attempting to contact Atlantis and Namor for assistance, and even trying to retrieve and reprogram Ultron for use as a weapon against the zombies. Every mission, however, carries with it more than the obvious risk-The advanced cloaking technology is, for the moment, the only trumpcard available to the Resistance, and should one of the Big Brain zombies capture an example, even Asteroid M will not be safe. Conflicts develop on the Asteroid between the military leadership (General Ross and Colonel Hill), a number of civilian leaders, and Magneto himself. Black Panther is isolated from Wakanda, which remains under siege while he is crippled and recovering from being used for food by Henry Pym.

A significant setback occurs when Castle Doomstadt falls to the zombie hordes, and Dr. Doom himself becomes a zombie. Up until that point, Doom had provided some nominal support to the Resistance, though remained confident that he would reign supreme where all others fell. This was not to be the case, and Doom very nearly brings Asteroid M down if not for the intervention of his ward and heir Kristoff, who seems to perish in the self-destruction of Castle Doomstadt.

However, by the end of the year, Asteroid M and a number of cities on the planet, including Nova Roma, remain safe from the super zombie menace. Forge and War Machine's work on the scraps of technology they've gathered allow them to devise a means of destroying all of the zombies at once, which General Ross and Magneto immediately approve the use of, but Colonel Hill and members of the civilian leadership protest due to findings by Moira Kinross, who may have come up with a possible cure.

This debate is placed on hold, however, by the arrival of a mysterious alien visitor, a silver man riding a board, who proclaims that their world is the target of a being known only as Galactus...

A few clarifications.

One, the zombies didn't eat the entire population in a day. It's how long it took for the situation to go out of control.

Two, Quicksilver was one of the first infected superdudes. What was the military going to DO to a guy who moves at Mach 5 with ease? Aside from standing around and getting gnawed on because he's too fast to be tagged with bullets?

Three, remember Captain America was one of the first infected, and even as a zombie he was still a brilliant strategist. That, of course, made things WORSE.

Finally, it should be noted that alternate reality superheroes tend to have variable degrees of their superpowers. Case in point being the Hulk, who was KOd in one hit by the Ultimateverse's Thing - something 616 Hulk would never have been subjected to.

Exiles and the various parallel universe series do a good job of showing the various degrees of power. For instance, the Exiles version of Deadpool was actually KILLED by the female Hulk that was in that series - something that's just plain impossible in the 616 verse.

Then there's the Storm from Earth X - or rather Bloodstorm - who never recovered from Dracula's bite and became a vampire.

Brother Mutant is another example.

And the list goes on... so yeah, I can buy Earth-2149 being overrun that easily, especially since the carrier was Sentry, one of the most broken superheroes in any verse...

Oh, one more thing.

The virus doesn't specifically target those with superpowers. It's just that superbeings are the only ones who can remain in one piece long enough for the virus to actually WORK on them. Normal humans, when attacked by superbeings in a feeding frenzy, get ripped apart in short order.

Sure, it could work. I was just being picky.

Also, Marvel Zombies was intended as a parody originally. MZ3 and MZ4 ruined that by taking themselves far too seriously.

Okay, all points taken. Still, doesn't mean this wouldn't make for an interesting series concept, right?
God knows Marvel's published worse. You ever heard of Marville?

Be thankful if you haven't.

ADDENDUM: /t GenocideHeart MZ3 featured Aaron Stack as the protagonist, and he's almost as goofy as Deadpool.

The fact he was actually perving up on Jocasta because she had her legs spread while he was fixing her was hilarious.

True... I suppose this is kind of like the concept of the Neo-BSG series. Last remnants of humanity struggling to survive against an implacable enemy. Only here, something bigger comes along...

EDIT: Except this would actually be good.
