Series You've Abandoned For No Good Reason

So I haven't been reading as much online comics, and decided to catch back up on some of my old favs. And yet, there are some series that I just haven't been able to read. Not because they're not interesting, or whatever, but, I just don't want to read them. For example, Kiwaguro no Brynhildr, haven't read it in months. I see the title gets regularly updated, and I don't want to read it anymore. The Ruler of the Land, I would have paid good money to have gotten all the 55+ volumes straight from Koreaafter ADV Comics basically closed up shop and peddled around for someone to translate the series. And every time I see it in the last many many months, I don't check it out. Han Bi Kwan and Rin, I know their names, which is miraculous for a Korean series... but I don't check it out. Same thing with Dice: The Cube That Changes Everything (though given the reception it got when I introduced it, some of you would be like, "Finally!")

So, yeah, series that you've forsaken for no reason that you can think of. It's not like why I haven't finished The Breaker: New Waves (Granddad... :blue:) or The Gamer (that's right, I stopped reading The Gamer; patience wore too thin on the plot spending so much time on the minutae instead of doing things). And definitely not series that you weren't aware that updated (and a lot, too) like Kubera, because I'm so mad for that series that just seeing it updated means I'm dropping everything to catch up, no matter how long it takes. I'm talking about series that, for whatever reason, you're not feeling it anymore. It hasn't sucked, it hasn't gotten boring, it's just.... I dunno... you just don't want to look at it.

Safe to say, everyone has a few of these, so what have you just stopped reading for no good reason?

Boku no Hero Academia sticks out for me.

I've picked up, caught up with and subsequently dropped Dice on two separate occasions now. The MC isn't really my favorite, but he's not bad enough to make me quit reading. The story doesn't keep me hooked enough to need to read it every time it comes out, for whatever reason.

Highschool DxD, Moonlight Sculptor and Madan no Ou to Vanadis are all light novels that I've started reading and stopped before getting all the way through. I guess those are just too long of a slog and I'm too fickle to stay with reading just one thing for that long. Same reason I've never been able to finish tackling One Piece.

Normally, if I dropped something I've started, there was, at least to my perspective, a reason for it... whether that be scanlation, or fanfiction, or anime.

For example...

Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha... dropped the manga due to the fandom, got tired of arguing with fans that the TSAB is not really all that good and was reading/seeing it because it was dark and gritty like StarGate SG1, I liked that fact, and that it was the fundamentally opposite of Sailor moon, much better training given to its subjects, much looser morally corrupt society and care for their own personnel... About the only fanfiction for it I'll read is crossovers. I only rarely bring it up on-line for fear of backlash from rabid fans insisting I'm *interpreting* it wrong.

Maho Sensei Negima scanlation... I've seen all the anime, both series, and OAVs, and movies. But stopped on the manga at chapter 30... the horrible font being used was actually literally was causing me migraines attempting to read it. How anyone managed to get past that is beyond me... Additionally, I almost never read fanfiction for it due to the fact I cannot cope with reading romance involving a 10 year old.

Transformers fanfiction... I've tried a number of times over the years, and simply cannot find anything of worth in it... keep running into stuff like Megatron and Optimus attending marriage counciling, or starscream getting dumped by Megatron, or Megatron dating a human and calling her flesh bag... Bleagh.... About the best stories I've come across with it is a Tenchi crossover where Washu experiments on Starscream (sadly dropped), and a Ranma Crossover where he gets a Decepticon car (the author ditched the story when the 2nd movie came out and his story did not mesh with it, grrr...).

Inu Yasha... so put out they had stopped the anime just before the battle with Naraku I never could pick up the series again or read fanfiction for it. Yes, I know they eventually decided in a backhanded manner to complete it, but I was so turned off I never bothered getting it.

Hellsing anime... I generally only read crossovers, most normal non-crossover fan fiction for the series does not remotely do it justice, with a few exceptions I've found.

Lupin... I had liked Lupin, I have retail DVD's for 11 movies and I think some 15 TV series DVD's... stopped due to the downturn in episode quality around DVD 13 and beyond.

The Type Moon Universe... Oddly, every type moon series I've liked were the ones the fandom put down... Which includes both the original Fate Stay Night and Tsukiime, and I loathed Fate Zero, which the fandom did like. I've not bothered with the newest series as I've been concerned it will taint my views of the original FSN which I've quite liked. And what the heck is it with the insane prices on Garden of Sinners retail DVD's in the U.S.?

High School DXD.. one weird series... I loved the plot, the backdrop, and the setup... I like all the original characters except the main character himself, whom I want to sod off and die. I cannot even finish the 1st season anime no matter how hard I try because of that main character. Yet I like fanfiction using it as long as it is either dealing with a crossover character, or a severely changed or non-existant Isse. Isse is one of the most worthless characters I've ever seen I an anime. And severely detracts from what would otherwise be a good series.

Love Hina and Ranma Manga's... I've no clue why the respective fandoms state these are so much better than their respective anime continuities... Love hina I have and finished reading, but literally put me to sleep at points attempting to read it, I find except a couple characters backgrounds being better (Amalla, Tsuruko, and Motoko), it not really that different from the anime. Ranma I find Akane almost as detestible as the anime version.

Ikki Tousen, simply because TokyoPop closed their U.S. offices and only publish it overseas now, apparently.

All-New Tenchi Muyo! manga, because I couldn't afford it at the time and simply don't have any interest in picking up again at this time.

Bleach. I got up to ... volume 26-27 of the translated manga, then simply didn't bother from there. I'm actually in the process of finding my collection to take it in to a used book store to sell.

Berserk. I didn't really like the art style at the time (it's not bad, just not my thing), and the slow release schedule for the English release was lousy. (1-2 volumes a year? Really?)

Ah! My Goddess: Simply too long. I like the series, but extremely slow pace gets to you after a while. I got up to... volume 20, I think, before I dropped it.

Bleach. About late 2014-early 2015.

I just stopped caring.

Ao No Exorcist: Got to chapter 65, put it one side and never bothered to pick it back up.

Kaichou wa Maid-sama!: Started putting a much larger emphasis on the romance, and the comedy all but vanished.

Pokémon RéBURST: I just kinda... Forgot about it?

Medaka Box: Kumagawa disapeared, so I stopped caring. Zenkichi was a pretty boring main character.

Fairy Tail: Natsu annoys me. I really like the secondary cast, and most of the main cast. I just want someone to drown Natsu in a river, and destroy his body so he can't be brought back.

Negima. I literally stopped reading because the site I was using did not have the chapter titles.

For anime, Bleach. I followed the whole series... until the part right after "turning back the pendulum", where Ichigo goes back to the spotlight (for the first time, if it happens more than once. I don't know, I stopped there).

In terms of anime, I dropped Gundam SEED after the first few episodes, simply because the artstyle was not to my liking. Way too CLAMP-like for a Gundam series, I felt.

YuYu Hakusho after the Sensui arc; I meant to watch it on CN, but I was working long hours at the time and always fell asleep before it aired, and I never bothered to pick up the dvds. Another series I'm in the process of selling.

The original Gundam: Nice series, but I never really got into it. I did pick up Char's Counterattack, but that was about it.
