Shadow Hearts

You know other then myself, I've never noticed anyone on this board to mention the Shadow Hearts games and considering the kind of Dark semiperveted minds we have at this site I'm fairly surprised, so I was wondering has anyone else here played them and if you did what do you think of them?

For those who haven't played them i suggest you check them out preferably the original or Covenant (You don't need to play the first to get it, but you'll miss some of the humor) From the New World is still good, but the first two were better.

These games all have some fairly dark moments and the main character Yuri can be pretty perverted, the game even has two endings.

The battle system is one i liked a lot, but i guess the Judgement Ring is a love it or hate it for most people.

I actually had an idea where Naruto had the Amon demon sealed in him instead of Kyuubi, but due to Amon being just plain too powerful, instead of being sealed, he basically made Naruto into the Yuri of the shinobi world... :snigger:

Naruto as a Harmonxier huh, that would kick ass, though why not go a step further and seal the Seraphic Radiance in him instead, Amon looked a lot cooler and was nearly as strong, but I'd love for Naruto to have a female demon/godess in his head. I could see the Radiance being reall perverted.

Did you have any ideas for other things for him to fuse into or just the basic monsters Yuri had, or just Amon?

Oh man you just gave me a new idea for something similar, remember how you needed the stones to fuse with high level demons or they would override your personality?

Well what if The fourth was a Harmonxier and when the Kyuubi came it was too much for him to absorb, his mind would have been destoryed by the Kyuubi's, so instead he sealed him into his newborn son who's own Harmonxier powers would allow the Kyuubi to dwell within him and the reason the fourth had to die to do it was his own soul became the buffer between Naruto's mind and the Kyuubi's.

Neat idea. You should try writing it.

My own idea was mostly Amon as the 'main' creature. Just imagine the Haku fight, if his power triggers there for the first time. Heheheh...

Haku's senbon needles wouldn't even be able to pierce his skin they would just pting off in random directions, not to mention not knowing where a single vital spot on a demon like Amon would be, Haku would be raped, not sure Zabuza would fair much better.

Love Shadow Hearts, and Yuri always cracks me up when he gets all pervy in the game. You can even win Alices black silk panties from the guy at the London Fight Pit (never gotten that item myself, you need a certain percentage of all the monsters in the game beaten and I missed an area)

Still disappointed that the series got traded to another company though, always bugs me when games get handed off, since they always seem to lose something of their character when that happens. Haven't bought New World and haven't planned to since it seems ot have nothing in common with the first two (that I've heard of)

Anyways, the idea of Naruto and the Fourth being Harmonixers is interesting and certainly something I've never heard of (or thought of, though I love Anime/Game crossovers and fusions) The idea that the Fourth tried fusing with the Kyuubi and got overwhelmed like Yuri did the first time with the Seraphic Radiance makes alot of sense. Perhaps some of his more remarkable and uncopyable techniques were actually the results of fusions, only he had such control that he gained the monster abilities without changing form. I'd be first in line to read this if you wrote it.

My favorite example of pervy Yuri is my signature right now, if I could figure out how Yuri, Alice, or both would be my Sig pic.

It was also funny when you hand over the dirty magazine over to Roger and their dirty little dialogue there. Or in Covenant when Anastatia gets pissed at Yuri for trying to corrupt Kurando to the pervy side.

As for New World, it's not a direct sequal like Covenant was, but it does have some tie ins to the original. The Peach bat is back as Hilda, like Joachim was brought into covenant after his apperance as the Gold bat in the original. The big guy Lenny from Sapientes Gladio has a support role in the game. Roger is back and so is the Emigre Manuscript. Fusion is in the game, but not in the form of a Harmonxier like it was in the past. Overall it's still a good game just not absolutely fucking awesome likethe first two were.

I think I'll run with this idea and post it in Naruto fanfiction section soon, for now though which game did you like better Shadow Hearts or Shadow Hearts Covenant?

I prefered the first I liked the characters more and the ending to covenant had me feeling a bit green and wanting to vomit a bit. I also disliked it taking place down the bad ending of the original. However i absolutly loved the back story on the greater demons that covenant brought. And bringing Kato back and the convoluted plot there was grabbing and IMHO kicked ass.

I liked Covenant best, myself. And I'd argue that the ending can be interpreted several ways...

I liked Covenant, but think the First game was better. I was also annoyed at the fact that Covenant went with the bad ending; though the part about the greater demons was pretty cool. It's one of the games that I haven't quite gotten to the end though. Stopped playing with a bit of the game to go, cause I got side-tracked by other games. Be getting back to it sometime this century.

I agree, but the most obvious interpretation of that, was weird and wrong.

The thing that gives me real hope that it's a different interpretation is the different elements one character had fire and the other was a light element

The first game even had that whole light and darkness together again motive being talked about by Koudelka.

I still need to go replay through Covenant to get the bad ending, but I'm so behind on video games right now who knows when i will.

Yeah, the problem is, games are getting longer and more complex, and they keep churning out ones that you *need* to buy...I'm of the opinion that my stack of 'Games to Play' is forever going to be at least a foot or so high. *sighs* Oh well, means I'll always have something to do if I get bored.

Funny thing; I happen to own Koudelka but never played it.

I own Koudelka as well, pulled it out of a bargain bin for 5 bucks, played an hour or two in the game, but I couldn't get into it just to boring and frustrating.
