A while ago, I came up with the brillant idea of making my own games. Nothing came of it at first besides game programs for Tic-Tac-Toe, Pazaak, and Poker (never finished this one). Now that I have some experiance in programming, I decided to now try harder programs.

But before I can start working on the SDLC charts and graphs, I needed a basic idea or three of what game I want to make. I came up with these three ideas.

1. title unplanned
Idea: When on patrol for your unit, you saw something that your superiors wanted no one to know about and they convicted you of treason. Not knowing why you were convicted, your trail was short and the punishment deadly. You're sent to the allied nation of ??? and forced to spend the rest of your life in the coliseum. Fate spares you near the end of the game from dying there, but you shall never know the truth about what your superiors thought that you saw.

Genre: Side Scroller

Difficulty to make: 8 (mostly due to my lack of art skills and having to create an 8 bit engine from nothing)

Game length: With what I have planned, the game should only last about 3 hours.

2. Dumbest Slayer Ever
Idea: Your character is an idiot, of one of the highest orders. He's also fairly short in height. The only advantage this guy has is a strangely high strength and endurance.

Everybody knows how dumb the main character is, and they take advantage of this constantly. One day the village sent him into the forest to capture a wolf cub, only for him to find a dying man. The man gave the MC his dying wish of revenge, even saying that his killer has a public mask of being a hero but alone on the roads, he's a bandit. The man then dies before giving a physical description

Your character gets that in his head and then thinks that every hero is a bandit in disguise. What happens next? You get to go around killing the local heros and adventurers.

I have about two scenes planned out after this. One is the newly dubbed Hero Slayer walks into a town and the townsfolk all laugh at him 'cause they think that he cannot beat the town's hero. Cue then all going :huh!: after the Slayer kills the hero. The second scene is that the Slayer reaches a town before a group of heroes can enter and takes a room to sleep the night away. When the heroes arrive, the townsfolk roughly tell the heroes, after they proclaim themselves as such, that they better leave after the elder says "Great, first a Hero Slayer and now Heroes. What we need now is a coliseum to make this an event."

Genre: Side Scroller

Difficulty to make: 8 (Same reasons as before)

Game length: 1 hour to 2 hours

3. Your Funeral if You Don't
Idea: You have lived in the village of Prison Guard your entire life, listening to the elder heroes and adventurers that settle this place that only the Chosen of John, champion of the village can kill the demonic creature sleeping in the nearby and acient(sp?) sealed prison. Too bad the seal broke (via events in the other two ideas)... really too bad that the Chosen ran out of the prison without his pants and a few key male body parts. Increase the too bad factor because you were then selected by lottery to enter the prison next. And the only reason why you risk your neck in there is simple, the villager threatened to hang you if you refused and you have a fear of being hanged (better slabbed or slashed to death in the character's mind).

Genre: Top Down RPG

Difficulty to make: 6 (Same reasons as stated before, but I have the combat engine nearly all planned out)

Game length: 5 hours to 7 hours

Now all I ask is for ways to improve the plot (basic and advanced later on), what you all think about these ideas, and if anyone would be willing to play these games. I also need help figuring out which one of these I should focus on first. Once I get the engines (graphics, movement, and combat) working, each idea should only take three months each (though I reserve the right to take as long as I need and want).

idea 2 sounds a bit like "Photon" in altered circumstances.

Never heard of "Photon" before. Could you link me to what you mean or explain it?

Shadow Kage?? As in, Shadow Shadow?
Yeah... kinda had a few drinks before I sat down to figure out what to call my shop. I was remembering some of Lord Archive's body-switch fic before the drink too so... I'd produce the link, but its NC-17 rated and I doubt that many people would like to read this guy's stuff (he's been known to plagurize(sp?), even though his fics are good).

The name stayed with me to the morning so I decided to use it. Might change names down the road, but SKE is it for now.

Edit: Cleaned up the explaination.
